This location no longer exist. It is now a Little Caesars Pizza. It was good when it was located on Perkiomen Ave.

We eat with the«locals«whenever we are in Mexico. This place is like a visit there, without the airfare ! The same friendly staff, clean, pretty surrounding, and authentic food as in Mexico. Another satisfying Friday nite dinner.

The BEST anywhere. I’ve eaten tacos everywhere in eastern Pennsylvania and they are the best. The selection is awesome, the people are so welcoming and friendly. If you want true, honest, and authentic mexican tacos and food look no further.

Great no-frills Mexican food. My favorite tacos around. Try the pork or chorizo tacos and the guacamole with a MexiCola. The restaurant is in a former Pizza Hut, but its current incarnation is clean and inviting. No alcohol is served, though they have a selection of soft drinks, including Mexican Coca Cola(the kind made with real sugar). Of the small(but delicious) menu I’ve tried tacos, burritos, sopes, quesadillas, and guacamole. All were very good. Currently tacos are $ 1.50 apiece or 10 for $ 10 of you get pork or chicken. They’re made with small double tortillas, lots of meat, diced onion, and cilantro. Salsa and limes on the side.

one word: authentic The tacos are great, and at 10 for $ 10(limited to seasoned pork, roast pork, or chicken) the price is right! I am also a huge fan of the Huarache, its like a GIANT taco bigger than a dinner plate… cactus and chorizo(Mexican sausage) are my two favorites. Combine that with one of their delicious fruit juices, I can’t say enough good things about this place and the staff there. everything is made to order, so call ahead unless you enjoy watching Telemundo =)

I’ve been here fours times now and the food has always been consistant and very good. Definitely lots of meat but they have added fish & shrimp. The décor is nothing worth seeing unless you want to watch Mexican TV. Wait staff is decent but struggles when busy. We did have a bad experience there on our last visit. We had to wait just over an hour to get our food and when it came out they only brought two of our four entrees. The waitress said the others would be right out. In the mean time we saw a table of four get their meals. Ten. Minutes later the third dish came out. It would be another five minutes to see the last one. The waitress was very apologetic but she was giving us B.S. excusses. They knew we were less than happy so they plied us with free churros on our way out, which were very good. My wife says we’re going to goxback but I’ll have a hard time forgetting this experience.

Great little place. The first time I visited this establishment, I wasn’t sure what to expect. From experience, I can tell you to expect great food, generous portions, friendly staff and a desire to return. Don’t expect a lot of frills and fanfare. The restaurant is a converted Pizza Hut. The renovations left this place bright, open and inviting. It is tucked on behind a Hess station and easy to miss if you aren’t looking. Don’t miss this one.

Even more Mexican in town, this one on the East side again! I remember, as a coal region teenager, thinking that Pizza Hut was the coziest, coolest place you could possibly go, especially that romantic corner booth. Some of the original«hut» buildings still stand, but most have morphed into other things. Gone are the checkered tablecloths and the warm wooden interiors. The one along Perkiomen Avenue at the top of the hill(by the Hess Station) is one such example. With two other locations in the city(Oley St and Greenwich St, one is a food truck), Taqueria El Carreton is no-frills more-authentic Mexican. Menu is heavy on the meat; in fact, there are 8 different kinds! Small selection: tacos, tortas, grande burritos, huarches, grande quesadillas, sopes, and gorditas. Vegans, ask for something with jalapenos, tomato, avocado, onions, cilantro, lettuce, and beans. The beans have no lard or bacon. The owner Maria is very sweet about welcoming special requests, although sometimes I just want to point. :-) Changes to the menu are being considered, in order to accommodate plant eaters — she tells me they have had a lot of requests. Seems to be BYOB, and it is very bright inside.
