I followed my beloved hairstylist and colorist Anngelle Wood to this salon. She is exceptional. I have been working with her exclusively for over 2 years. She knows exactly what I like and she will take the time to ensure that I get the look I want every time, without exception. She is professional, kind, and caring and will work with you, giving you honest feedback. I trust nobody else with my hair. She’s that good!

I need color EVERY 4 – 6 weeks and I want it to cover, look rich and hold it’s color. This is why I choose to go to a professional and forego the box jobs that NEVER deliver the type of coverage, care and counsel that Anngelle Wood does time and time again. Not ONLY have I followed her from a previous place of employment but I HIGHLY recommend that if you want to be treated with respect and have your vision of your hair style and color truly understood, you go to HER. I simply can’t say enough about her professionalism and calm, cool and collected nature. It’s full service with a smile. She’s great at her trade and Fringe is lucky to have her! After my long-​time hairdresser told me that she was going to focus on her family, I decided to find a different hairdresser. I went to see a hairdresser (at a different salon) who sounded like she knew what she was doing and was listening to me when I told her what I wanted, but I ended up with the worst hairstyle I think I’ve ever had. In a panic, I called a friend of mine who referred me to Melissa at salon fringe. Melissa was excellent, she found the time to fit me in for a consultation within minutes of my frantic phone call. And then within a day she had my hair looking fantastic! Needless to say, I have found my new hairdresser. Thanks Melissa

Have always had my hair done by my sister-​n-​law and was nervous when I moved to Boston to be able to find someone to cut and color my hair. Found Salon Fringe and Melissa has been my stylist for the past year and a half. Have always been very satisfied with the color and cut. More expensive than I’m used to, but everything is more expensive in Boston than I’m used to.

I have been going to Salon Fringe for about a year, and Melissa is my stylist. This is one of the rare places where they know how to cut my curly hair! All the staff are friendly, the salon is super clean, and they do a fantastic cut for a decent price.

I have been going to Salon Fringe for about a year and I have never gotten as many complements on my hair color since I started going to Melissa. She’s a great stylist; I usually have no idea what I’m talking about when trying to describe what I want, but Melissa gets it and I walk out looking and feeling awesome.
The salon itself is very cute with a nice modern décor. The entire staff always appears happy to be there and the owner is usually right on the floor with his staff, working next to them. The value is beyond compare. I feel like I’m in a super fancy salon without the obscene price tag (but the place is worth it anyway).

Took a chance on this salon when I decided I wanted a new look and I was happy I did. I decided I wanted bangs, which I was a little nervous about, but Cassie did a great job! I came away with exactly what I had envisioned and a very stylish look. Highly recommended.

I had always gone to Newbury St. to get my hair done but when my office moved it wasn’t working out. I tried a few salons near my house and never came away feeling fantastic. It was more like ‘eh’. When Salon Fringe opened, I decided to give it a try and I will never go anywhere else. It is truly Newbury St. on Haven St. I have my hair done by Gary who is the owner and too funny for his own good. I always have an amazing experience and I never think ‘eh’ when I leave. Gary is totally amazing and so are the other stylists including Cassie who now does my daughter’s hair. I literally walk around with a pile of their cards in my wallet because I know how hard it is to find quality like this outside the city. The fact that I get all this, close to home and I don’t have to fight for parking or pay Newbury St. prices still amazes me. Salon Fringe is one of my favorite parts about living north of the city. I can’t say enough good things about them from the scalp massages to the products to the amazing style experts. I wish there was a way to give more than 5 stars!

I was really impressed with this salon — I live in Cambridge and it was worth the drive! I had an appoitment with Ari and she is awesome. I love my hair cut from her and have gotten so many compliments. She confirmed she’s been cutting hair for over ten years and really knows what looks good and what’s realistic with maintenance.
I am so glad I went there! Definitely going back.

I have been searching and searching for a stylist who could tame my wild thick hair and I finally found her! Cassie at Salon Fringe is amazing. Her attention to detail is flawless. I am no stylist by any means so I usually have no idea what I’m talking about when I try to explain what I want done but Cassie listened and showed me the different styles that would look good with my face shape and type of hair. I instantly felt comfortable with her expertise and knowledge. My cut and color got so many compliments. I always look forward to my appointment and I’m finally not afraid to try different styles. Cassie also shaped my brows which I’m normally very picky about because of my sensitive skin but she did a great job and hardly any redness. I highly recommend Cassie at Salon Fringe for all your beauty needs!

It took me 5 years to find a place to get a great hair cut around Reading, but I wouldn’t go anywhere else now. Atmosphere isn’t too fru-​fru or pretentious and the prices are reasonable ($ 25 for a men’s cut and wash). Melissa is my stylist and she is fantastic.

Fringe is great! Ive been getting my hair cut there by Melissa for a while now. My mom, who is a hairdresser, recommended I go to her, insisting that she really listens and totally gets her clients when they try to tell her what style they are looking for. She was right… Melissa is great! I have never been disappointed. A lot of the women in my family go to her now and we all love it. Everyone in the salon is very friendly, and it is a nice atmosphere.

What a great all-​around experience! I just moved to town so got a recommendation from a woman at Nail Gallery (another great find). I called an made an appointment on a Saturday and they got me right in. Cassie was my stylist and she was great! My highlights turned out amazing… Her attention to detail was impressive and it was obvious to me she really cares about treating her clients right. She made a recommendation for some products and explained why she recommended them but without being pushy. The salon was very clean and the owner greeted me with a smile right when I walked in. It had a great feeling of community (people getting ready for weddings and school dances and they all knew one another). I was nervous that the price was going to be ridiculous once I heard that the salon used to be on Newbury St in Boston but was pleasantly surprised. Partial highlights, blow out and some product w/​tip was $ 150. They also have a pretty cool point system where you earn rewards for coming back and/​or referring clients. I would highly recommend Fringe if you’re looking for a salon in the Reading area.

The best salon out there. I actually moved away from MA but needed to let people know what a great salon this place is. It’s like a top notch newbury st. salon in the burbs. The salon itself is chic and clean. Then of course you have the amazing stylists. My husband and I both go to Jessica. She is the queen of perfection… the best stylist out there by far. The other stylists there are great too, they all are amazing there. Also, the prices they charge is very reasonable, actually it’s a steal for the quality you get. Trust me when I say, this place is great. We are now in San Diego and are both having a very tough time finding anyone who even remotely comes close to Jessica. We’ve joked about flying back to MA to just get our haircuts there. You can’t go wrong!
