Raspberry Beret

I came to this location several times, but after my last visit I’m officially disappointed with this store.
When it comes to consignment stores, the rules of the game should be a bit different than they are for other retail stores — you want shoppers coming back to check out the constantly changing collection, you want a loyal clientele base. Being friendly is one way to do it, but I bet that for most people honesty and professionalism count too. When a shop owner puts client’s benefit ahead of their profit, for me, it’s definitely a «go back» location. And from my experience, Raspberry Beret Reading is NOT such location.
I go to the store every couple of weeks to see what’s new and the last time I came in I saw a beautiful camel color pea coat that was on sale. I tried it several times, had some concerns about how it fits on the back, left the store, then came back and eventually I dared to ask the sales woman if the back is too baggy. She gave me a brief look and said that it could be taken in a little bit, but it’s something any tailor could easily do.
I got the jacket. I brought it to 5 different tailors. The cheapest quote I received was 4 times of what I paid for it at Raspberry Beret!
I do not understand how someone, who should be knowledgeable in clothes, cannot assess proper sizing and what alterations may be required. Either the sales woman has no understanding when it comes to clothes, how they suppose to fit and possible alterations (umm, why does she work there?) or she just wanted to make the sale regardless of what consequences a client will have to deal with. Whatever the explanation might be, either is not satisfactory enough to come back.

This is definitely a place you should check out. They have a great selection of clothes and accessories. I always leave with at least one item. The people that work there are very helpful and friendly. Also it’s a great idea to follow them on Facebook and Instagram to see any new items they have coming in.

I love this boutique! I came here for the first time during the winter to consign some clothes. They had a great selection of sweaters, blazers and jackets. All the items in the store are quality items that look like new!
