Went here to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We have been here a few times before and always had a great meal. Since this was a special time I wanted it to be special. Well let me tell you I was not disappointed. I had read a few recent reviews and was a little apprehensive since some of the reviews said the serve was so bad. We had the exact opposite experience. Our waitress was extremely attentive and our wait time for our food was perfect, not too long and not rushed. Our food was served hot and was very good. I had the rigatoni with sausage, my husband and one of our friends had the seafood risotto and our other friend had the eggplant parm. All of us said how good the entrees were. I would definitely go again. Reservations made easy through open table.

Love this place. We had dinner Friday night before the Ballet and the service and food were excellent. Plus they take reservations. We will stop here again soon!!!

Everthing was delicious and expertly prepared, presented, and served. Appetizers were lovely and interesting. Papardelle and shortribs w. Veg was light and obviously homemade pasta. New York strip perfect. Will make it a habit.

We had the $ 19.953 course special before going to a show at the Miller Center down the street. I had the Rigatoni with sweet sausage and she had the Chicken Milanaise and both were great. Their fresh baked breads were very good, and so was the chocolate torte dessert. Good wine selection and they had a Victory on draft. It was pretty slow as we went early(5:30pm on a Friday) so it wasn’t busy and the service was fine. It’s a 45 min. drive for us, but the experience was good enough she wants to go back again just for dinner. They do take reservations(phone or OpenTable), so if you are going at a busy time it seems like a reservation would be good idea.

Never again! Slow pace all around, expensive for no reason because the food is tasteless! Took 45 mins just to get menus, 1.5 just to get appetizer n 2 hours till we actually got our tasteless food… The best tasting thing was their Crème brûlée & complimentary strawberry! I love trying every place that I can no matter the price but the money spent here was not worth it! Sorry but it’s the truth!

If you’re ever in the Reading area, DONOT go to Panevino. We stopped here to get a table before a concert tonight. The hostess just ignored the fact that we were standing there waiting to be helped and proceeded to attend to everyone and anyone that approached the stand A AFTER us. My recommendation would be to just skip this place. I don’t know if it was elitism or racism, either way their staff sucks.

We thought we would go here for a nice dinner before a show we were in town for. Walked in, two hostesses were talking to another couple. One finally sat them and we were next in line. A gentleman from the bar walked up, cut in front of us and the hostess began talking to him. Another couple walked in. The hostess offered to take their coats. Meanwhile, we were still standing there waiting, ignored by the hostesses. How’s the food? I won’t ever know. We walked out, unimpressed with the lack of hospitality we were shown from the moment we stepped in the door.

We went there for dinner last night with friends. It was the first time our friends were eating here and because we’ve been here many times, we were excited to share this«city gem» with them. Long story short, it was a horrendous experience. We were basically stashed at a corner table and forgotten. We were there a half an hour without so much as a glass of water. When our server did come to pour some water she spilled it on the floor and then kicked the ice cubes under the table. When we FINALLY got to order drinks(40 plus minutes after arrival), it was only because we had gotten up and asked the manager to find our server. We had spoken to the manager TWICE before we even ordered our food!!! Soup took an hour(and another talk with the manager) to come and the manager was about as useless as they come. It felt like we had to fight for every single step. Utterly unenjoyable. Although the food here is quite good, it’s not good enough to lure me back. This place is not a cheap date so I will spend my hard earned money at Anthony’s where the servers and the management aren’t complete buffoons.

There is nothing special about this restaurant. It is an underground parking garage without any windows. They reuse tablecloths(take them off the table brush the dirt off them put them back on the table.) Service is mediocre. There is no host. The food is whatever. The management is terrible.

We have been at this restaurant several times in the past, but what we experienced last night was something no should ever have. Dining out on New Years Eve is always challenging. We arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation. We ordered a bottle of wine which came relatively soon and promptly ordered our appetizer. We received our appetizer an hour and a half later, around 9 pm. Two of the four appetizers were cold. They were replaced quickly. Our entrees finally arrived around 9:30 pm — 2 hours after we arrived. We noticed some tables around us that had received their meals on time but some others were complaining about the slow service that we were receiving. It should be noted that the wait staff was very nice and trying to get our meals out sooner. We then ordered our dessert which took over 20 mins to arrive., At this time, there were only 2 tables occupied in the entire restaurant but it still took an excessive amount of time for our dessert to arrive. We spoke to the front of the house manager several times who attempted to expedite our meals. After our dessert was delivered, around 10:10 pm, the owner/chef came to our table. It appeared to us that he was not happy that we were not satisfied with our service and began to give us a verbal spanking saying they were busy in the kitchen and we should not complain. He then finished his loud comments by calling our friend an asshole. The manager gave us a $ 25 gift card prior to his arrival in her attempt to compensate us for the bad service. We would have been happy with this gesture and would have returned until the chef/owner stormed out of the kitchen with the intent to berate us. I know that this comment will not stop people from going to the restaurant but beware that if you complain about the service, you could expect the owner/chef table side telling you that he works hard and you have no cause to complain. By the way, the food was marginal at best.

Basically I felt like I went to a banquet dinner at my old high school in Wyomissing PA. The menu and food was dated 1985. I will say I got the Pre Fixe dinner so that may be why. Nothing bad, but nothing great, just felt the emphasis on economical not food/taste. Service was very genuine and proud, which was nice.

In a matter of just a few months, Panevino fell from a respectable restaurant to serving homemade pasta with sauce that tasted like tomato paste. Salad was overdressed, bread was bland. Our service started out ok but slowed tremendously. A group of four at an adjacent table waited an hour after being seating with only water being served… they left. I hope the restaurant turns it around.

Went after seeing a show at racc. I got the arugula salad and the eggplant parm as that was the only entrée that was vegetarian, which they really should have some more options. However I love eggplant parm so I was excited. The bread was bland and just eh, they did however have a tasty hummus but wasn’t enough to save the bread. The arugula salad was good and well dressed but way too much of an attempted Parmesan bowl, it was awkwardly just under the lettuce, not really a bowl at all. Way too much cheese to lettuce ratio. The eggplant parm was more of a casserole/bake, was very disappointed! The atmosphere was good and the service was good, nothing special. For the price not worth it, won’t be returning.

Excellent food and service. The staff is friendly and helpful. My husband and I ordered the 3 course meal for $ 19.95 and it was delicious and a great price! I definitely recommend a trip to town for this delicious Italian restaurant!

We went out as a surprise birthday dinner for my husband and this was our first time here. My spicy crab chowder had great flavor. I can’t remember the name of my dinner but it was chicken and sweet sausage with fingerling potatoes in tomato sauce and it was great too! If you get the side of baked Ziti be ready to share because it’s a huge portion with an amazing fresh tomato sauce. And the vanilla bean cream brûlée was one of the best I’ve had. Our server was pleasant and attentive. We will be back!

Date Night and a 48th birthday celebration at Panevino. We took advantage of the $ 50 date night(and a movie) special. Our 3-course meal was amazing. The service was wonderful and the ambiance was perfect. Thank you.

I was very excited to go to this restaurant for Valentines. I called before I made a reservation to see if they had a special menu for the holiday since I have dietary restrictions. I was told that they were going to serve the regular menu. I checked again 3 days prior just to be sure and was told again that they would be serving the regular menu. When I arrived, I was quickly checked in and seated. I wasn’t thrilled that they put us right next to the door so everyone who came in and out drew a freezing wind that blew through the table. My date and I ordered drinks which were ok. The martini wasn’t made with the right proportions but it isn’t the worst drink I’ve had. When I asked about ordering from the regular menu I was told that they only had the special menu on for tonight. The waiter was very nice and polite about it but did say that there were others that were given the same misinformation about the menu. I was still really annoyed since I checked with the restaurant twice before dining. Unfortunately, they did not have anything on the menu that I would be able to eat so we had our drinks and left. It may have been for the best since other couples were talking about the wait for bread and were told that they didn’t have enough bread baskets to accommodate so they were having people wait instead of just putting it on plate. When leaving we had to wait for our coats while the staff ignored us at the counter and actually handed menus to staff by handing them in front of our face. Very rude. Continued to not acknowledge us like they were just to busy with ONLY the two of us standing there waiting for them. I thought about getting my coat myself. After this disappointment I will not go back. Let me say however that the waiter in the short time we were there was wonderful. He was very professional in the situation and very friendly. I give him an A+. Too bad the rest of their staff doesn’t perform as well.

My wife and I chose Panevino for our anniversary dinner and it definitely did not disappoint. From the moment we walked through the doors, the service was outstanding. With simple things like free coat check that allows you to have a bit more freedom at your table, to free focaccia bread and white bean hummus with parmesan toast points, the experience is unrivaled. We had reservations and were seated promptly and someone took care of our drink order immediately. Our server was very polite and efficient. I ordered the eggplant parmesan and my wife ordered the chicken marsala. Both dishes were excellent. The portion size was more than enough and we ended up taking some of both dishes home with us. The amount of cheese on the eggplant parmesan was more than enough and the chicken marsala had an incredible flavor. The prices won’t break the bank either. We chose the 3-course meal for $ 19.95 which suited our needs, but the menu is very diverse and includes great steaks, pasta, and seafood. Panevino is a jewel in downtown Reading and is a perfect spot for both couples, a family, or a business dinner.

We waited over 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence, and only because we called the server over. Food was good. Ambiance was good. Service was very slow especially since restaurant was maybe half full, on a Sunday night.

Yum! Panevino is delicious. Located across from the R/C Reading movie theater and the GoggleWorks, this restaurant offers fine entrees to choose from. Every section of the menu offers a special element that is true to the word ‘rustic’. The plating is excellent and showcases the talent of the chef. The fish is prepared delightfully and they will ask you how you want it prepared. The wait staff is professional. There is faint, dim lighting and the place as a whole is chic. There is painting on the wall and it also has a bar. They have a special wine room that you can reserve. It looks awesome for entertaining groups or special occasions. Panevino offers several themed dinners throughout the year. The place seems like it is really into community building through food and wine. This is a good place to catch a happy hour or take someone out on a nice date. You can park in Boscov’s Plaza parking lot. There is direct access to the parking garage through the restaurant so you don’t have to go out on the street, if that’s something you need.
