Mays is a fantastic sandwich shop. First, you are not going to find a cheaper place to eat in the entire county! I always use the Facebook online ordering and there are SO many options for everything you get… from hard or soft rolls, a large variety of cheese, different toppings, you name it, they got it! Italians are phenomenal. I’ve had the turkey club as well which was very good. Hamburgers and cheese steaks seems to be of the variety you can get yourself frozen at the grocery store… but they are still delicious. And for the price well worth it. Soups are great as well. All around a great local shop!

We went here based on the good reviews it has and we did not like their food at all. We got a buffalo chicken sandwich and grilled chicken wrap and both had warmed up frozen chicken on top that tasted rubbery. We would not go back there. We had to throw away our sandwiches after a few bites due to the taste of the warmed up chicken.

We stumbled upon Mays after turning the wrong way on 422 while passing through central PA. The store is covered in «Best of Berks”(county) and «Best of Reading» awards. Sorry, we just didn’t get it.
We had a veggie wrap and an Italian. Two very bland sandwiches.

Mays is a great cheap local sandwich stop located near Buckman’s Ski Shop on Penn Avenue. Do not forget to grab a reading root beer as they have a lot of flavors to chose from.
