Brewer’s Bar and Grill

My wife and I stopped in here for dinner before a concert and were very happy. The drinks were well made as well as the food. We had the perogies, crab cake sandwich and the angry apple burger. Would recommend all three and would order again. We will definitely be back in the next time we are in the area.

The attentiveness of the female bartenders is slim to none. Literally could not get their attention if I went behind the bar and made the drinks myself.

Love this place! Attentive staff, great food, great prices and lots of options. Soups are always good and seasoned fries have a house secret seasoning mix on them that I simply can’t duplicate at home. As a creature of habit I know what I like and tend to order the same thing over and over again but the Heidelburger with blue cheese and bacon is just to die for. The «bowl» dinners are large and filling. The wings large and flavorful. They are always running beer and food specials and have an extensive selection of 6-​packs and beers to go. Take out always available or come early since seating is limited.

Awesome neighborhood spot with great bar food & burgers. Tons of tap beers & lots of great atmosphere. A well stocked takeout for the road, and a staff that is Super friendly especially Scott. Great prices to boot.

Great burgers and boneless wings! My son loves their BBQ boneless wings and I get the cheeseburger sub. Mmmmm. So good.

I came here during their kitchen renovation. Admittedly this puts them at a bit of a disadvantage. However, I rate based on the conditions of the meal I receive at any given time. The mark of a great restaurant is the ability to produce consistent quality.
The environment here is divey, but fun. It’s a perfectly good vibe to grab a beer and eat pub food. However, with the limited menu the options were very scant. There were a couple sandwiches and nachos. The nachos were only one step above bowling alley food. The cheese, chips, and chili all clearly came from a big bag from Sysco. The app lacked distinctive flavors and the toppings were not particularly fresh. I ate the whole thing because I was hungry, but I was not particularly happy about that.
The service was great. My bartender was friendly, attentive, patient, and apologetic for the limited menu. I would consider coming back if I’m in the area to try the burger. I guess their grill was «under construction.»

Great small place! The staff were very friendly and made sure we were comfortable there it being our first time visiting. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to order for drinks so one of the workers Kelly offered to just make me a bunch of drinks which were all amazing! The wings are so delicious! We had a blast there especially since it was Sunday night football! We’ll definitely be visiting again!

They have amazing wings and bacon cheese fries, honestly I’ve never had anything off the menu that was bad. The atmosphere is great too. Always a great time and friendly staff.

As other have said, what a great bar. I’ve been to Brewers many times and between the food, the atmosphere and service always top notch. Top notice in terms of,
«Time it took to get a beer» «Time it took to get out food» «Time it took to get a refill on our beer»…you get the idea. As said before its certainly a sports bar and I think that’s what there going for. Also a amazing «beer-​to-​go» selection. They have a «mix-&-match» selection as other have adapted now.

Great place! Excellent service! The bar is updated with plenty of draft beers. The food is very good. The appetizers are excellent. I can’t wait to come back. Great place to watch football in nice atmosphere.

It’s not often that I give a bar and grill 5 stars, but I’m giving it to Brewer’s because they far exceed expectations in the category of sports bars — in fact, perhaps the best I’ve experienced anywhere. The place is a bit of a dive in a charming kind of way, and it certainly is a sports bar in terms of its atmosphere. But this is no average sports bar. The burgers here are phenomenal, and my followers know that I’m picky about burgers. They have to be charcoal grilled (or at least taste like it), simple and served on a great bun. Perhaps the buns could improve here, but the meat, grilled onions and the gruyère cheese were all memorably delicious. The fries had a McDonald’s like consistency — and who doesn’t like fries?
Beyond the burger, what truly is impressive here is the craft beer options. I did not expect it in Reading, but this bar has one of the best selections of craft beer that I’ve seen, and particularly in a sports bar. A small beer store is attached to the bar, and I picked up 6 more craft beer selections that I’d never experienced to bring home with me. The store clerk and the server were not only friendly but also knowledgeable about the beer.
Great spot, and happy I stayed at the hotel next door so that I could experience it.

Such a quaint place with amazing brews and food! From the outside, it looks like a hole-​in-​the-​wall diner, but in the inside it is a well-​maintained bar. There was a great selection of beers on tap and the happy hour specials were a great price as well. The burgers all sounded so amazing it was difficult to choose just one. The hubs and I decided to share two; the Texas burger and the Kansas City burger. Definitely opt for the pretzel roll, fantastic! It may become our new local spot.

Stopped off here for a break in travel after reading reviews. The food was good, although the burgers were slightly overlooked. The Mac and cheese bites were really good. There was only one server, but the service was ok. There were 3 bartenders working and they were kept busy. There was a DJ playing a wide variety (rock, metal, country, rap). The music was very loud and it made it hard to talk to each other. Wide variety of beer to take out, but at $ 14+ for a 6 pack it was pricy. Make sure you put West Reading in your GPS or else you end up in a not so great area.

Stopped in for lunch because it was a mile from my girlfriends house and she had been told good things about it but never been there. The bartender was super friendly and really took care of us. It felt like we were regulars. The food was very good and they have a great beer selection for small place. We will definitely go back and will recommend it to friends.

Great neighborhood pub with decent food, good beer, mixed crowd and friendly stuff. As a guest of the hotel next door I got even a small discount.

So I pull into the hotel next door and the sign for this place catches my eye. That’s a bit of an understatement because my last name is «Brewer.» As you might expect it was mandatory that I stop in. I’m delighted that I did as this is a great neighborhood bar!
It’s no surprise that the place was nicely busy. All the pieces are in place for a good time–
* A large square bar with plenty of TVs.
* Seats around the perimeter if bar stools aren’t your thing.
* I love that they have a TouchTunes juke box so I can play songs from my smart phone app.
* A separate entrance and room for take-​out beer.
* Non-​smoking.
Two aspects of this place deserve elaboration. The first is the excellent food. This is bar food at its best. These folks do not pretend to be a gastro pub. We’re talking classic bar food but done very, very well. I tried the IPA Steak for $ 7.99. It gets the name because it includes Dogfish 60 Minute IPA mustard along with mushrooms, roasted peppers, and provolone. It was outstanding.
Next is the beer list. Unless you live under a rock you know that the craft beer craze is in full swing. I travel a great deal and I’ve visited dozens of places that have dozens of taps. That’s great but these folks go the other way. They have a few taps but they are nothing a beer aficionado like me dreams about. The amazing thing here is the bottle list of over 200 eclectic beers. The list is beautifully organized and it’s easy to pick your poison. There were many beers here that I have never seen before. I was in heaven! Check out their list online.
I don’t get to Reading very often but I would go out of my way to visit here again if I travel anywhere close.
