So I’m locked out of my house on a Sunday evening. I call and speak to a friendly woman who tells me she will page someone to come assist me and they will call me back. I wait 30 minutes. In the cold. No call.
I decide to call back and the same pleasant voice answered the phone. She was very helpful and stated that the locksmith replied to her page, letting her know that he got the call, and that she wasn’t sure why he had not called me. She said she would page him again. About 5 minutes later I get a call from a man who tells me he’s not in the area and can’t help me. He did refer me to another locksmith, which was helpful, but I’m still shivering and confused as to why he was unable to tell me that 30 minutes prior. Also, how can you claim to offer 24-hour emergency service and then tell someone they are out of luck?

OK, so the credit card minimum is $ 20, and I did not have cash. I apologized. The owner did not. It happens. Good thing I asked first.
But all during this transaction was the blaring of a radio show commentator known for strong political beliefs, and his topic while I was in the store was, yes, orgies. This made it very uncomfortable as a woman trying to transact business in front of a bunch of men. Very unprofessional and off-putting. Would have been even moreso had I had children with me.
Yes, it is the business owner’s right to play what he wants, as it is my right to shop where I feel welcome.
