Loved the vibe here. I could imagine how happening it is during the peak of summer. There are some chic clothing store, a small theater, some great restaurants, coffee houses. There are great presidential statues all around the main downtown intersections.

After seeing all the tourist attractions that entertain the kids, downtown is a great way for grown ups to enjoy themselves with interesting shops and restaurants. There is a good variety of shops from outfitters, bookstores, toys, jewelry, candy and Native Americans artifacts. The town square showcases entertainers and has a fountain pad where kids love playing in the water. The president sculptures are fun to check out and make for good photo opportunities. Parking can kind of be a challenge so be patient if you visit during peak times.

I love this place. You can park pretty much anywhere along the streets but there’s are some parking restrictions so why not park in the parking garage that over looks all of downtown Rapid City and the Main Street Square. Where they often have events held there and they have a nice water fountain. The whole square is nice why not just sit down chillax, grab something to eat from the shops around, and enjoy. There was a nice drizzle when I was there. There are statues of US Presidents at every corner, go take a pic with each of them. There’s a huge alley with hundreds of murals covering wall and dumpster. There’s the historic Alex Johnson Hotel, nice hotel to explore and get lost in, I read something about it being haunted. Hang out at the coffee shop. There’s are many art shops, bars, and restaurants here which is always nice. Came in the middle of the huge Sturgis biker rally, which happens in the nearby city every early August. The streets were filled with bikers but they seemed real mellow here so that’s cool.
