Having moved out east from the Chicago area, where every other restaurant is Greek family owned, I had been disappointed in the the Greek fare out here. That is until I moved from NoVA to WV and found an awesome little Greek gem. To be fair, I have only had the Chicken Slouvaki sandwich, as that is my favorite Greek dish, but every time I’ve ordered it, it has been outstanding and definitely leaps and bounds better than anything in the WMA. If you are in the Panhandle and looking for good Greek food, and as a bonus, in a family owned, non-chain establishment, then John’s is a must!

Hands down the best Greek food I’ve EVER had! I ordered the Gyro and Kebab platter and it was amazing! The tzatziki sauce is incredible! The perfect blend of yogurt, spices, and cucumber! The chicken kebab was seasoned to perfection. And their homemade chips were phenomenal! If you ever find yourself in the Harper’s Ferry/Ranson/Martinsburg area this place is a must try!

A cozy family run café that delivers great Greek food at very reasonable prices! They are always very friendly and happy to see their customers. I especially love their gyros and their crab cakes.

Absolutely the best Greek food we have had since we lived near Tarpon Springs in Florida. Outstanding salads! Unbelievable gyro sandwiches! Do yourself a big favor and stop by this place just to check it out. Absolutely worth the trip!

My «go-to» is the lamb kabob platter. It is always delicious. I have had other things like gyros, spanikopita, and baklava. Yes, they are all good. I would eat there more but the meal ends up at $ 50 or more. It’s hard to swing that all the time.

Waitress was amazing friendly, and helpful with the napkins for our messy 11 month old. I had the Aegean salad with chicken – delicious. Hubby had an incredible gyro. Food came out fresh and fast. Will definitely be back!

Their Gyros rock! The Shrimp Salad is delish! We never go wrong here! Service is great. If you want Greek look no further as we love seeing non chain restaurants doing so well! They do carry out as well.

Ok, look, I admit I haven’t tried anything other than the gyros(they’re so good I want one every time I go in), but they are SOFREAKINGGOOD! Oh man, a little bit salty, but just so savory and flavorful and really fantastic. You should definitely go there if you like gyros and if their other stuff is half as good it’s well worth it to stop by for lunch or dinner! (Pro-tip: if you get the gyro to go, ask for the tzatziki on the side, otherwise it gets soupy by the time you dig in.)

We ate here last night and it was fantastic! We ordered the trio sampler and it was delicious. Huge portions that the two of us couldn’t finish and still eat our meals. We each got gyros that were delicious, and we got a skewer for the baby. She hardly eats meat, but she went to town on it! We will be back again and again for sure!

Fast and very friendly service! Great gyro n greek salad, my only complaint is I drove by way too many times before trying it. Will be back again.

They have delicious Gyros sandwiches, fantastic Moussaka, good baklava, and very friendly, personable service. The only thing we find out of place is the TV mounted high on the wall and the country-western music on the radio.

This is one of the best non-chain restaurants in Charles Town/Ranson for sure. They offer Greek, American, and Italian food. I love getting the spaghetti and meatballs,(I’ll actually usually get the kids meal because the potion is so big.) I’ve had the giros, and they are very very good. Funny enough, I absolutely adore their french fries. They are these thin shoe string fries that are delicious. They also have great sweet tea. I’ve always found the staff to be extremely friendly. They are a family run business, so they really do care about their customers, and it certainly shows through their good and quick service. Highly recommend trying this if you haven’t been there yet!

Wow. This was a little gem of a place in West Virginia. Real quality Greek food(I’ve been to Greece) at a good price for breakfast lunch and dinner. Try the Greek iced coffee ! Also friendly family centric service. Love it !

Oh man! This place looks weird from the outside but you NEED to try it. We got the sampler appetizer. Everything on the plate was AMAZING. Salads were huge, meat was tender. Great value for the money. My husband and I eat a lot of Mediterranean food, and we are shocked that this place is in ranson! TRYIT!

«I go to John’s every time I end up in Ranson. Gyros and clam chowder are well worth the price. Service is quick. Give it a try.»
