Back of the Bike

We just adopted Dakota, a 1 year 7 month old border collie on Dec. 28. She lost her human mom to cancer 2 months ago and her human dad has been battling pancreatic cancer for 13+ month. Dakota spent much of her time in her crate with both parents in and out of hospitals, especially the last several months. She was incredibly sweet when we brought her home but has stranger anxiety with anyone not in our immediate family. Dakota has never been groomed and probably had not been bathed or brushed either. I explained all this to Kimberly and asked if she was interested in giving Dakota a try. Not only was she quick to respond to my email but was so understanding.
Kimberly offered a quiet morning for Dakota’s first «groom» and I told her I would be happy with just a paw touch up and brushing. I gave Kimberly the go ahead to do whatever she felt Dakota could handle. I was more interested in having Dakota trust Kimberly so a relationship can form between them. I should also mention that upon arriving at the shop, Dakota went over and warmly greeted Kimberly which surprised me since she avoided all visitors at home. I left Dakota with Kimberly and returned an hour later. Dakota happily greeted me looking beautiful and smelling fabulous. Kimberly said she was wonderful and was able to bathe/​dry her, trim her coat, clean up her paws and even put on a bandana! Dakota had the works and was not at all stressed! Without a doubt, it’s Kimberly’s amazing way of handling dogs that made this such a successful experience for Dakota.
I am so glad we found Kimberly and we will be taking Dakota regularly. I’ve already passed her name on to my friends. She really will take great care of your dog!

I’ve taken my dog to get groomed here only a handful of times. Kim is very professional and listens to what I ask of her, as far as my dogs hair cut goes! I’ve had some pretty awful experiences at other groomers but not here! Each and every time, my dog who is a Cairn Terrier, looks so adorable and she get so many compliments!
Kim also responds to emails promptly when I want to make an appointment. She is very reasonably priced.
If you’re looking to support a local business, look no further!

I have had a hard time finding a groomer who truly cares about animals. My small dog would come home from grooming and was obviously upset and stressed.
I am so happy that I found Back of the Bike. Kim is amazing. Not only does my dog look and smell fantastic, she always comes home relaxed and happy. Kim is clearly caring and gentle, making my dog feel comfortable as soon as we walk in. The shop is adorable, clean and cozy. I highly recommend and so does my pup.

I’ve taken my suspicious, undersocialized poodle mix to PetSmart (too loud), Booming Grooming (not a good experience), and ended up at Back of the Bike. What a treat! You walk in and it’s quiet, there is a huge fenced in area for the dogs. I picked my girl up an hour later (wanted a short visit as to not overwhelm her) after leaving her barking and growling at the owner. I look through the glass door to come in and my little terror is curled up in her lap on the floor. The best cut I have seen on my dog as well. A rare find. This is my new grooming place 100%

This is by far the cutest and greatest groomer! Kim is a doggy whisperer! My toy aussie Maddie actually loves going there, although she generally HATES baths! But not for Kim, she is such a little «angel»! The salon is clean and she and her mom and staff are very friendly, prices are more than fair and scheduling is never an issue. Definitely bring your doggy there if you love them and want them to be beautiful!

Just took my coonhound there for the first time and it was a delight. The owner, Kim, is so sweet and my girl (Gigi) smells delicious. I liked that when I went to pick her up she was sleeping on the floor and not shoved in a cage. Already made her next appointment!

Back of the Bike is wonderful! The place is cute and always very clean. My pup came back smelling fresh, ears clean and nails clipped. I couldn’t be happier! The owner, Kim, is very sweet and really made my dog feel comfortable. We told her we wouldn’t be sure how she would react to the bath so Kim took extra care to test her slowly and make sure she was comfortable. Now my pup loves taking baths now! She always tries to jump into the bathtub when she used to run from the shower.
