Best snowballs in Maryland! Best and most unusual flavors anywhere and they make their own flavors. They have your favorite standards such as egg custard, blue Hawaiian, cherry, chocolate, but they also have wine cooler, margarita tiger’s eye and list goes on. To top it off they have a variety of ice cream both hard and soft, funnel cakes and they even make their own Italian ice. My favorite Italian ice is egg custard. Where in the world can you get an Italian ice egg custard they’re absolutely amazing! This is a family owned business and they have another Hawaiian snowball stand in Owings Mills off of Reisterstown Road which is closed for the season. If you have hurry you’ll be able to get your last taste of summer until September 20th.

I have been wanting a snowball all summer and final decided to satisfy my palette. Let me tell you, you won’t go wrong coming here for a snowball. They have an assortment of other summer treats and ice creams as well. I was shocked to see that they even had funnel cake. The best thing about the snowball is that it is made with shaved ice. And that is the makings of a great snowball. So if you’re in the neighborhood or don’t mind taking a drive, come check them out!

The best snowballs on the face of the earth. Period. Have been for at least 30 years. No comparison anywhere.

The opening of snowball, snow cone, and Italian icy treat shops all over Baltimore county heralds Summer. While I still mourn the long gone true Hawaiian shaved ice that had super fluffy texture, I’ve got to say that this spot is still the best I can find in the area for true fruit ices and real fruit flavored syrups that most other places skimp out on. The service is so nice and they’ll give you free tastes when you will likely have choice paralysis due to the dozens of options. I don’t feel like my summer visits to Baltimore county are complete without a pit stop here. Nice spot.

I swear they must have found a way to introduce trace amounts of cocaine into the flavoring they use.

You would think with as many flavors, one would try something new every time, but I’m in love with the almond smash with marshmallow. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and as long as I’m living in this area, I’ll come here for snoballs. They have what seems like 100 different flavors and dozens of different toppings. Definitely something for everyone.

Who goes out of their way to go to a snowball stand? I do! This place is totally worth it. You have to get either egg custard or skylite. It’s a Baltimore/Baltimore County rule. Marshmallow is also a must. I tried an egg custard snowball with ice cream and marshmallow. It was an experience. The weather was ridiculously hot and the snowball was tremendously refreshing. This is what I love about Maryland. The flavor selection is overwhelming and the combinations are endless. I spent a Starbucks style penny on a snowball, but it was well worth it.

Hmm. about time I write a review for my favorite snoball stand! I’ve been coming here for years(I feel like I’ve been saying that a lot in my reviews lately lol) and it’s always great! I’ve tried to check in here three times this summer but it never works… always some error message! Anyway, this place has THEBEST snoballs! An older lady owns it and comes up with all of the flavors herself in her home, and her daughter Chrissie runs it. They always have a handful of flavors of the week, and this year they have a whopping number of sugar-free flavors! They’re actually pretty good! The soft ice cream is delicious, as is the marshmallow. They have all kinds of sundaes and crazy creations like a snoshake… a snowball blended with soft ice cream.(I haven’t tried it yet but I probably will in the next couple of visits.) My favorite«mystery flavor»(the ones where you can’t tell what’s in it by the name) is Waikiki Sunrise. One year I got that with pink lemonade flavor and marshmallow on top for the whole summer haha. Check out my picture for the snoball flavor portion of the menu! :) PS– cash only, and ask for a stamp card, it’s buy 10 get one free!

Wow. Original Hawai‘ian Island Snoball has some serious shave ice. Shaved as smooth as the shave ice I’ve had in Hale‘iwa. With over 105 flavor choices including Kiwi, Chocolate Almond, and«O‘ahu Strawberry» Pie, I went for broke with a medium($ 1.25) Shave Ice Hawai‘ian Egg Custard adding Marshmallow on top and Vanilla Soft Serve on the bottom($ 4.62 in all). They’re not shy with pouring on the flavor. My shave ice was deep in color and rich with taste. Marshmallow thick and generous. My prize after delving through cool, delicious ice on a blazing 92 degree humid Maryland afternoon was large scoops of sweet creaminess from the soft serve at the bottom. But wait. No condensed milk? No liliko‘i flavor? No azuki beans? Sacrilege! But this is Randallstown, right? Not Hale‘iwa. I got over it. I didn’t expect my mainland Maryland shave ice to be this enjoyable. Glad I was wrong. Da ‘ono kine shave ice in Randallstown. Who knew? I’ll be making this joint an icy treats summertime habit. Kit’s hau‘olé.

I finally had my first real snowball today, I guess that makes me a real Marylander! Although apparently not since I’m from Montgomery County and have been told by more than a few people that’s just baby D.C. and not really Maryland… hmm… Anyway, I figured since it was my first snowball I had to get the traditional egg custard with marshmallow cream. Now I want marshmallow cream on every ice cream type food I eat. I’m not sure if I liked the marshmallow cream or the snowball itself more but either way, it was an awesome combination. The fact that they have funnel cakes and a TON of other snowball flavors, ice cream, etc, means I’ll definitely be back soon!

I. Love. This. Place. The ice is actually crushed/shaved super fine, unlike other joints where you’re basically eating ice cubes with syrup on them. They have more flavors then I was shake a stick at, and they have more then just shaved ice. They have ice cream, milkshakes, and other fatty goodness to make your heart sing. Plus the prices are reasonable. The only downside is that it is a little out of the way from me, but I still come out here. **also, they are closed between the end of September until about May.**

No reason to break the trend here. The only reason to give this 5 stars is because 6 stars isn’t available. I’ve been going to this place for as long as I can remember. It’s good. It’s worth the drive. Odds are, if you’re reading this, you’re going to have a drive in front of you to get there. That’s ok. It’s part of the experience. It’s sooooooo worth it. I’m not sure you could have every flavor of snowball here in a summer season. I’m not sure you’d want to. I don’t think I’ve deviated from one of my 5 standbys in years. YEARS. The grasshopper is killer. The almond smash makes it difficult to try other flavors; it’s just that good. The lemon is sweet and sour, like it should be. You can get marshmallow on the top or bottom, or both, as with soft serve ice cream, or any of a litany of other things they sell that are so good you don’t even mind the dental work it’ll take to readjust your face after a good sitting. It gets crowded during peak times. On a hot day, peak time includes any time of day that ends«o’clock». Budget your time accordingly. There are picnic tables to eat at, or in the comfort of your car. Typically, my family of 4 can eat until ice cream headache seizures set in for less than 10 dollars. Those are snowballs with bells and whistles, mind you, so a beginner will certainly accomplish the same for less. It’s inexpensive, not ‘cheap’. Lots of value here.

If you’re looking for a snoball in Maryland, you’re probably going to find a stand nearby that is a converted shed, or is on someone’s front porch. You might even convince yourself that«Hazel’s Snoballs» are the best you’ve ever had. And you know what? You’d be wrong. Most snoballs I’ve come across are a step above the EZ Snocone maker you used to have when you were a kid. You’re not a kid anymore — so stop convincing yourself that you’re eating something great that isn’t. The snoballs at Hawaiian Island are awesome, mostly because of the great texture(they use shaved ice — not that crummy balled ice that you usually get), as well as the wide variety of tasty, homemade flavors that are available. I think you can even still get them with marshmallow or soft serve on top, too. My favorite is their milkshakes. If you get a willing server, you can end up with some really amazing flavors. The fruit shakes come HIGHLY recommended, and you end up with a pile of real fruit at the bottom of your cup. Don’t be fooled by the«Randallstown» address — this place is still out in the country, so it makes for a nice place to sit and enjoy summertime treats. Definitely worth the trip.
