Both of my parents lived here until they passed. The Canterbury was very good at helping my parents. They provided social activities, dinners, medical attention, transportation to/from doctor appointments, laundry. The staff was helpful, friendly, courteous. Lizette(head of nursing) was caring and excellent. The food was also better than expected and we ate there multiple times. Although they should offer more low sodium options for residents. The Canterbury has 3 stages of care — independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing. My folks were able to stay in independent living as they wished even though my mom needed more care and a hospital bed as she got more ill. So I appreciate the accommodations they made for my folks. It was a bit expensive but the care was very good.

I can’t vouch for the medical attention or the senior programs they have, since this is where my grandparents live. But I will review what I’ve observed. The units are very small, about 800 sq. feet. That includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small kitchen and a very small living room, as a comparison our one bedroom apartment is double that size. Some units have been recently renewed, Front desk staff does not know how to use their computer properly, all the times we’ve been there they couldn’t use the sign-up program. Lately we’ve been just walking in. One thing that I didn’t expect is good tasting food, I was expecting hospital-grade and I have to say everything we ate so far was very good. I had a turkey a la king yesterday that was phenomenal.
