Rancho Las Palmas R Bar

Would like to give a normally deserved 4+ stars but am still on hold after 13+ minutes waiting to get rates that are not available on what they post. They are running $ 89. specials but not one date available — even mid week. They extend $ 199. specials with travelocity and other sites, not one of them is available, they want you to get to their site and get you into their lowest sized rooms at $ 300.+ per night which is fine but don’t insult us with postings of discount specials in print and radio! Service went down the minute Omni took over, my last visit we couldn’t get an outdoor waitress for service.

This place is great! Gigi out bartender was so friendly and welcoming, she really made it fun! She makes some killer drinks and knocked our socks off with a refreshing Moscow mule! Watching her handle all the different kinds of people was hilarious… she’s truly an asset to this place. The clientele changes every night depending on what convention is in town.
–the wedge salad is the best I’ve ever had
–lobster Mac and cheese was delish
***only major downfall? The stools! Nothing like sinking into a chair so much that you feel like your knees are higher than your behind. Total comedy trying to get out of one! (Yes I said «out» not off… it was like a pocket. Pocket of «please replace ASAP!» Ha!

This indoor outdoor bar is really cool. They have good food, drinks and live music. The music is outside most of the time. In my visits I have never heard a clunker band or solo artist.
The pool is close to the action and in the evenings you can float in the pool and enjoy the music.
It’s an adult laid back atmosphere. Not a Vegas pool party at all.
I highly recommend this entire resort.
You can actually relax here. It’s a resort without the bs of a resort
The entire staff is very attentive. And gracious. I guess I would say unpretentious. The guests seem to fit right into the vibe. You can spend a week here in nothing but flip flops and shorts or put on some comfortable sporty clothes or dress up.
It’s cool too because you can watch people T off and hit their driver from the outdoor restaurant.
Even the ducks here are awesome little critters !!!

My husband and I stayed at this resort this weekend. We wantes to find a spot to enjoy some live jazz music and this was the spot. Its a small lounge but perfect.
The service at was great. Entertainment was really nice. Wish it went on longer than 10pm. It was just starting to get a bit fulled up and tge music ended so we left. The pool table at the was nice to have but wish there were more than 1 table. We were rushed off because another grouo wanted to play. Other than than we had a great time here.

One review? That’s weird. This is a legitimate bar and restaurant, and I’d imagine it’d be of use to somebody once in a while.
I had dinner at R Bar during a weekend trip to the Omni. It was a casual spot, pleasant and comfortable. I sat with a group of about seven or eight people and had a couple beers and some kind of spring roll thing. I wasn’t paying close attention, but I do remember I had beers because I broke a glass of it, spilling it all over one of my companions.
The food was decent and I had a good time. I’d recommend R Bar to Omni guests and anyone looking for an easy place to eat and drink in Rancho Mirage.

free self-​parking to the left or valet to the right at entrance… inside omni rancho las palmas resort & spa… enter from the lobby… small, dim and nice sports bar… multiple large screens displaying games. pool tables to the left…8 draft beers on tap… coors light $ 6, dos equis $ 7, and others like stone or sam adams $ 8 regular. high priced, but daily happy hours from 5pm to 7pm daily… simple «r bites» bar menu… sandwiches, nachos, snacks and sliders…3 slider meal including fries only $ 15…pick and choose sliders… choices from american burger, mexican burger, pulled pork and veggie burger… taking 2 mexican and 1 american… mexican using fried jalapenos and guacamole… very tasty and burgers cooked to a perfect medium… very high quality burgers and nice buns… american having yellow cheese and basic ketchup, but still excellent… mexican is the favorite… fries are golden excellence… adding a soda with endless refills $ 3…
