Very bland pizza. Crust is undercooked. Sauce is unremarkable. Tried several times to like pizza royal due to the history but it’s nasty and over priced. Honestly dominoes and papa johns make a better pizza.

I grew up here and now came for my sons basketball end of season party and it was awesome! Great service and atmosphere. They are accommodating and stay on top of everything. The pizza is yummy!!! Prices are fair too! We will be back

I’ve been coming to this place since I could barely walk! My brandished grandparents brought me here and I’ve what’s had great memories. This place was bought out or taken over recently in the past few years, sadly, the pizza was destroyed. The dough isn’t fresh, or doesn’t taste like oit, hence the downhill of the flavor in food. The area to eat is great, the gaming area is still full of nostalgia, the girls bathroom isn’t clean, then men’s bathroom had a shower curtain for a stall barrier to poop. I know because my boyfriend took a picture and showed me. Yes, friendly people and service, but the food and bathrooms needs to be upgraded. My childhood died a little after this last visit. Come try it for yourself, but seriously, the pizza was depressingly tasteless.

I had not come to Pizza Royal since it changed ownership, they have added more TV’s and improved the quality of food. Nice atmosphere, Great pizza and a friendly staff. Overall great experience.

Love this place. Great staff and great pizza! We like the space that the restaurant has. Great for kids! This is our team location to get pizza for our Lady Aces Softball Club.

Do not go here! The quality has changed and is absolutely horrible! We paid 60 bucks for 3 pizzas that had barely any toppings and they were not an average large or medium size. Seriously, where were the toppings?! Such a rip off.

Where are the toppings? The Pizza Royal I used to know had toppings falling off of the pizza. Now there is barely anything. The pictures posted on are not what we received. The new owner must be all about the money and not about quality because the pizza cost the same price with less pizza. I gave it 2 stars though because the quality is not bad. Just disappointed.

The worst tasting crust I have ever had. The dough they use must be made with rusty water. Also it was $ 16.50 for a large 1 topping pizza. Their new owners have let the quality fall as prices have risen. Worst Pizza in Rancho Cucamonga.

Pizza was terrible… Service was terrible… place was empty by 8 :00 P.M. that should send a message to the new owner… oh yah, with all of the windows to the kitchen covered up, the new owner must be hiding something…,

Went to watch the fight(boxing) asked to put on BET cuz there is a fight on… Mind you no one is around. Pretty empty in here. The lady at the front says its a family resturant. Pretty sure its cuz my fiancé is mexican with a white girl asking to put on black network. What a bunch of real works of trash

I guess this place is not use to handle a busy crowd. I have never bento this place before and I don’t think I’m coming back. The cheese bread is okay, nothing special about it. We can only fill 4 cups of soda in a pitcher because they put too much ice. And pizza., what pizza, I’m still waiting for it. What a service.

New owners have done a great job taking this place to the next level. The staff is very friendly. Food is very good and you have to try the broasted chicken. It’s excellent! Great place for groups and they have an excellent wine and beer selection.

My family and I have lived in the Rancho Cucamonga area for 23 years and Pizza Royal was our pizza joint of choice but the restaurant was dingy and dark. Not loved by the previous owners. They left something to be desired. Definitely not people persons. Now the new ownership is fantastic. Very friendly and service was quick. They remodeled the inside of the place and brightened it up. Also the bathrooms where remodeled. The new owners really love their business. The pizza was very tasty as usual. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting great pizza and beer!

I hadn’t been here in a while due to it «going down hill» but decided to give it a go since it had new owners… I was pleasantly surprised! Pizza was really good, chicken salad was good, place was clean(didn’t have the dingy smell it was starting to get a while back). Bathrooms were clean. Staff was friendly and it still has that local pizza parlor feel to it. Will be putting this place back into the pizza rotation. Try the pastrami pizza! It’s so good!

I was pleasantly surprised to see all the work the new owners have done. It’s clean, bright, and well organized… New TV’s and fixed up arcade area. The food was fine and the beer selection is great. Customer service was fabulous!

Completely disgusted with this place. This place has been a staple since I was a little kid, but ever since it has gone under new ownership, it’s complete garbage. Not only does the crust & bottom of the pizza feel like cardboard, it tastes like cardboard as well. The sauce is average at best & it doesn’t even compare to the old stuff. It was like eating a frozen pizza but sadly the frozen pizza would taste better than this. The service was terrible top & they forgot the wings, twice. Complete waste of $ 20+ dollars. And the salads that came with the pizza & wings meal, was literally a cheese salad, it was unappetizing. I would not eat here again.

I used to give this place the benefit of the doubt, since it is a place I frequented as a child. I have lots of memories here, and it’s quite sad for me to give this place a negative review. However after tonight’s terrible service I received, I have decided to change my review to reflect my new view on this place. I ordered a Runway IPA and the gentleman who viewed my ID asked«Why don’t you have a California ID?». Well, haven’t you thought that people come and visit from other states? My New York State ID is as valid as a California ID, and don’t talk to me like I’m an idiot. In response I was polite and just said«I’m visiting», and I told him where my birthdate was. After some more scrutiny he finally caved and got me my beer, and it was ten dollars(!) for a mug. Are you serious? At first I thought he was overcharging me since I gave him a bit of an attitude, but another person in my group was charged the same thing. Highway robbery! I ordered a medium cheese pizza and it was okay. Honestly I was still worked up from the experience at the bar that I couldn’t enjoy the food, but just thought to myself that it was overpriced at around eleven dollars. I got another beer, something signficantly cheaper and my total ended up being almost thirty dollars for one person. Are you kidding me? That’s what I pay at a decent restaurant, not at a hole-in-the wall pizza joint in the suburbs. Besides the surly gentleman at the bar, the other people working there were friendly and attentive. I do like that they have lots of flat screen televisions with the game, and they have made some HUGE improvements since the last time I was here. It felt much cleaner, the bathrooms were super nice(no more sewer smell), and less of an emphasis on the little league/arcade stuff. I honestly cannot give this place higher than a two stars though, since there is a LOT they can do to make this place better. Not copping an attitude with me is the first step, and taking advantage of the great bar area they have should be a big priority. Until then, I think I’m going to go to B and J’s down the road instead.

GIVEIT A CHANCEANDYOUBETHEJUDGE. I graduated from Alta Loma High School class of 1986. I’m familiar with the history of Pizza Royal. My wife and I have dined here many times but we stopped frequenting them as often when we felt we could get better service and food somewhere else. Before Unilocal. About April of 2014 Pizza Royal was hosting a fundraiser I wanted to attend and I heard that new owners had taken over so we decided to give it a try. We have eaten here 3 times since. Visit #1 with my wife we had two(yes two) pizzas and a salad for 2. Visit #2 with my wife we had a salad for 2, spaghetti with meatballs/garlic bread, a medium Pizza Royal special and some cinnamon knots for dessert. Visit #3 was with our Friends. We actually just stopped here to catch the end of the Kings game 5 and have a couple beers. I ordered the Pepperoni pizza roll and some cinnamon knots. We already had steak dinner at another location. First off the majority of negative reviews are over 1 year ago and several are many years ago. On every one of my visits I found the staff to be welcoming, friendly and efficient. I even called one night to see if the Kings game was going to be on and my experience with the young lady on the phone was very positive and friendly. The wife and I like the pizza very much and it was just as satisfying as some of my other pizza favorites like Fratello’s pizza and pasta in Upland or Sal’s and Barboni’s in Rancho Cucamonga. Just to give you an idea of the pizza we are use to. When I’m becoming familiar with a place I like to order a variety of options from the menu so I can review them. The spaghetti and meatballs were good, the sauce had good flavor and the meatballs were really good. I was actually pleasantly surprised that the spaghetti and meatballs could be that good at a pizza parlor. My wife commented that she thought the meatballs were better than Vince’s spaghetti’s. I would agree but I’ve always thought their meatballs were just ok. Now on to dessert and my sweet tooth. I’m a big sucker for dessert and sweet things so I had to try to Cinnamon knots. When they came I thought we would just eat a few and take the rest home to share with the kids, ha-ha yea right. We enjoyed them one by one and before you know it the basket was empty. On two out of three visits I met Steve, one of the owners, who was doing various tasks and talking with customers. I see him as a man who cares about the customers and who is trying to make some changes for the better but they don’t all happen over night unless you have deep pockets like the big chains. I believe family places like these with good service and good food are hard to come by. In my opinion this place does not deserve the 2.5 rating it currently has. but don’t take my word for it.
