Discover Judo

As a former student and Judo instructor (2000 — 2008) at Discover Judo, I’m happy to write that Discover Judo is the best place to learn and practice Judo. If you’re just getting started or if you’re a returning student in the Rancho Cucamonga Area, at Discover you’ll learn Judo the right way.
The instructors are warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. They do a great job of creating a welcoming environment for learning and they’re hyper-​vigilant when it comes to their students’ safety.
As a parent, you won’t find a better martial arts school for your children or yourself in the Rancho Cucamonga area.
Before we moved to Texas, our four children and our two nieces trained at Discover Judo. They all loved it! Judo has helped our kids to be more confident, well-​rounded and calm. They’re all great students. I believe that this is one of the by-​products of Judo training.
Judo is an international sport and martial art. Through Judo, you’ll meet wonderful people from around the world. Wherever you find them, Judo people are always warm, welcoming and ready to train with you.
Thanks to Judo, I’ve met hundreds of fellow Judoka (Judo students) and I’ve been invited to join practice sessions and tournaments in many countries such as Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, South Korea and Thailand.
All Judo students try our best to follow our Founder, Jigoro Kano’s words, (in Judo) we strive for «Maximum Efficiency with Minimum Effort» (Sei-​ryoku Zen-you）and «Mutual Welfare and Benefit» (Ji-​ta Kyou-​ei).

Great staff ! Great exercise ! The kids love going to practice. Highly recommended. The instructors have a lot of knowledge and are very good at teaching kids.

I had gone there for many years in my teen years and had a great time. The instructors are very knowledgeable and friendly. They always want to make sure everyone understands the techniques and work closely with the students.

These guys are the best, very friendly and fun! Both of my girls enrolled and they love it. If you want a to be apart of a great group of people come check them out. My family will be coming here for life.

I was just looking for some basic self defense but it’s actually a pretty great workout (for me!)

Honesty — Integrity — Passion — Camaraderie are all words that come to mind that are synonymous with the Sensei and family at Discover Judo. Pure sport — not a belt mill. Training for body, mind and soul. I hold them in highest regard.

My child has been attending this school for a couple of months and the instruction is excellent. They keep high expectations for their students, even the young ones. They strive to inspire a love of judo in their students while building their mental and physical strength. I would highly recommend this school.

Great environment for little kids. My daughter loves this gym. It’s affordable and they are very accommodating to busy schedules. I love Jon and Denise great caring teachers. I give them my highest recommendation. I like that they don’t have favorites they are fair.

What a great place.
I first brought my sons here several years ago after checking out numerous other schools/​clubs.
First off, the staff was very welcoming which was very nice. Questions were answered and I was invited to hang around and watch… no massive sales pitch. Nice
It became clear very quickly that it was a well run dojo. Safety is stressed as well. Their first two rules are protect yourself & protect your partner.
I also liked the fact that it wasn’t just another «black belt mill.» I saw too many of those in my quest: Write X number of checks, get a new belt. Um, no. That’s not the way it’s supposed to work. Moving up in rank should be a challenge, not simply handing over a few dollars more. Even the children understand that. Everyone understands the sense of accomplishment when a new belt is awarded… and it’s great.
And it’s perfect for nearly all ages… even entire families. Check it out.

We have had both our kids, 6 and 4 years, with Discover Judo for several years. Great staff, with great instructor to student ratio. Very patient with the kids and great ability to help the kids achieve their goals and belt advancement. This crew really cares about students and treats them like family.

My 2 boys have been coming here for 3 yrs. Their instructors are truly amazing. They teach good sports manship, self defense, and discipline. Having them in Judo started them exercising regularly.
They really enjoy going to class and socializing with others and the sensei. It’s really amazing how affordable the classes are. Everyone should join. Great people, classes, and instructors.

I’ve been going to Discover Judo for over 10 years now. I love it, the people are great, the sport is fun, and the traditions that have been formed are wonderful. Life without judo is impossible to imagine. You don’t just learn a martial arts here, you learn a lifestyle. Its great. If you want fitness, fun, and friends, go to Discover Judo!

My 5 year old and I have been coming to Discover Judo for a little over a year and a half. This is an awesome club with extremely knowledgeable and committed Senseis (teachers). Whether it is for self defense, competition, exercise or just self control Discover Judo is the best Judo club in Rancho Cucamonga! Check out the website or just stop in and try it out.
