Nimbus Landscape Materials

Bought some gray pebble rock from them. It was completely dirty, and after a year later, still dirty. It all looks a very dirty brown/​gray color. On dry days, little dust storms swirl around. The sample you look at when you buy, is nice and clean. When you get it, it’s dirty.

We ordered 5 yards decomposed granite on a Saturday, for delivery the next Friday morning. We paid for and were charged for 5 yards that Saturday.
Friday morning half an hour before they were supposed to deliver it, we get a call that it is «no longer in stock» and it was explained to us that paying for the material did not reserve the material for us. What? So the material we paid for and scheduled delivery for was apparently sold to someone else. And my husband had already taken a vacation day to accept delivery of material that was never going to arrive. They said they were getting another shipment in that day and could deliver it on Saturday.
Saturday, an hour before our rescheduled delivery they call again and again do not have the material. But they told us they might be able to deliver it on Monday instead and would we like to do that. Unbelievable. So they want us to waste another vacation day in order to stay home waiting for material that may or may not show up for the third time. Needless to say we cancelled.
Just as icing on this awful experience, the manager never called on Monday as we requested so we could explain what had occurred. I always believe in giving a business a chance to make things right, but they were so unprofessional through the entire transaction that they didn’t give me an opportunity to discuss the problems with them instead of airing my grievance on Unilocal.
Ultimately, we ordered the decomposed granite from another company (Cascade Rock Inc). It was delivered on time and ended up being cheaper as well.

Our experience will Nimbus has been absolutely wonderful. We needed some base for our showroom and they made the purchasing experience simple and extremely professional. Not to mention the Materials showed up at our business time on time. The driver even helped us lay out the mat to dump the material on. Artificial Grass Liquidators of Sacramento will be referring all our clients to Nimbus that need base because of the way they have treated us !

I have been shopping at this location for a while. I am a landscaper and am very picky about what I choose for my soils. I have used the organic soil mix they carry and have had outstanding results with it. The edible gardens I’ve put in have just flourished with lots of produce making my clients very happy. Which makes me very happy! Ya sometimes there are nonsoil items in it, but I have made a rhododendron flower that has never flowered, citrus come alive and many more plants thrive. Oh… the worm castings? Pricey, but outstanding results! My neighbor wished he had used them after seeing my garden. If you can’t afford them split the cost with others… it’s sooo worth it!
Customer service has been just terrific. Rachel made a point to call me when I had questions. Carlos friendly personality is a pleasure to work with. Chris and Danny are great guys! Ready to answer questions and get my order so I can get back to my job. Chava, Memo and Rich are on it loading my truck without delays. Very friendly, always glad to see us! When my clients call with larger orders which have to be delivered, so far they have beat their time by an hour. I have to say I am very happy with Nimbus Landscape Materials time after time. Thanks guys!

The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. They gave me ideas and provided me with information on the rock and bark I got for my yard (let me know what each was good for). I will definitely be using nimbus for all my future landscaping needs.

We bought several loads of Bark and Rock here. They are incapable of showing up on time (or at all). We waited for one delivery for 4 hours (between 8 and 12). When they no-​showed we called only to be told the material HAD NOT EVEN ARRIVED AT THEIR YARD. Oh yeah, «meant to call you». Rescheduled delivery was an hour late too. Rancho Cordova to El Dorado Hills is not a moon shot. Basic good business: do what you’re supposed to do; if you can’t, CALL and let the customer know.
There are better choices for landscape material; we won’t be using Nimbus again.
