Just had Heath Stairs take out our old
Oak stairs and replace with stained Beech, and iron. We decided against the hollow iron and upgraded to the solid iron… Jim was great to work with throughout the whole process and kept us informed throughout.
They left the old railings and after one email, jim was out at our house picking up the old wood asap!
His workers did a great job, trustworthy and even his sub who stained was great!

We recently bought a house and wanted to update the stair balusters from wood to wrought iron. We weren’t sure which company to use (there are so many out there!) so we checked out a bunch of websites via Unilocal and Google. I emailed a few companies and got numerous quotes.
One thing we really liked about Heath Stairworks was Jim’s prompt email replies back to us. Jim Heath was very professional in his emails to me and usually I received answers back in minutes.
We finally decided to get a couple estimates in person. We set up an appointment with Jim and he showed up exactly at the time and date we had specified. So now it was between Heath Stairworks and another company. While their prices were very comparable, we felt that Heath Stairworks had more experience with stairs, whereas the other company was more of a general contractor. Jim and his team have been doing stair work for YEARS, so we felt the project would be in good hands with their company.
The quote for the project was sent via email and we were able to go on a website where we could play around with the design of the balusters. That was a lot of fun. Then once we decided on a pattern, we’d just send that design number to Jim and he would then send us the price quote for that design.
I was able to send my 10% deposit via Paypal, which was very convenient (instead of having to mail a check or meet in person, which was difficult since we were still living out of town).
The crew showed up on the day and time specified and did an awesome job. We even had neighbors come by and check out their work (some of them are planning to call Heath Stairworks to do their stairs now).
For the 2^nd day of the job, we got to meet Jim’s son, who also did an excellent job with installing the remaining balusters. He was very courteous, showed up on time, and did a great job.
We are so pleased with the way our stair balusters look now! The wrought iron and double/​single baskets really add so much to the house! We are so glad that we chose Heath Stairworks for this project. The prices are reasonable, work is done in a matter of days, communication is excellent, and the finished product looks amazing.
We highly recommend Heath Stairworks to any of our friends who want to change the look of their home with new stair balusters, or anything related to stairs!
