Not a «Good Morning or Thank you«The people who work here are so rude ! They acted like it is a pain to wait on me. VERY unfriendly. I will never go here again!

ZEROSTARRATINGWORSTEXPERIENCEEVER! I called an hour ahead to place an order for 2 dozen orders I arrive at the requested time an the donuts are not ready and the man tending the counter didnt want to give me donuts because one other customer started making ghetto comments… needless to say i walked out when the man didnt want to prep my order… they have good donuts but customer service is also important i will never come back

I had some time to kill before work, so I stopped by because of the Unilocal reviews and the pics look just like my normal donut spot. Sorry rancho cordova, you don’t know what a good donut is. If extra sweet and metallic tasting is your cup of tea, 5 stars! These are better than your typical donut shop, but I’m used to donuts that melt in your mouth and just sweet enough that you don’t need coffee with every bite to balance it out. The saving grace it prices is cheap and service is fast. It’s owned by Asians so don’t expect the Waldorf Astoria experience.

Great location, but the donuts are greasy and the dough inside tastes like it hasn’t cooked all the way, especially with the maple bars. I gave them a second and third try, again, the amount of grease is just nasty. The regular donuts are OK, sometimes fluffy, sometimes undercooked dough. The donut holes are too big but always deep fried to the right texture. Customer service: they try to be nice, but usually they look bored and indifferent. So glad I found out about Donut Time close to my work. As for craving donuts in Rancho, I would rather get them from Safeway, which is around the area, but on the other side of the light rail.

It’s more of a 3.5 star donut place in my book, which may be a 4 star to normal people. Lol the donut holes are very big, and although not totally light and melty in your mouth, they are very soft, dough up a little while chewing, and after 3, still not cakey. All the ingredients of what should make a perfect donut hole, but something just didn’t hit the mark for a perfect donut hole. Although still very satisfying. The chocolate old fashioned was really good as well, I’m not sure if it was the donut or the chocolate icing, but it had a hint of mint or some kind of extra kick. Not heavy, but definitely set it apart from other old fashions. I may need to come back and try a plain and see where that leads me. Oh the woes of donut reviewing. **big fat gigantic fake sigh**

For the donuts and end products I would have to say that the quality is above average. The dough was fresh and not overcooked. I especially enjoyed the fruit filled(lemon) donuts for the tangy and lightly sweetened filing and fluffy pastry. However the spectacled wearing woman handling the front of the house was downright unpleasant and behaved as if she were happy being nowhere else, maybe her native Cambodia. it made me feel uncomfortable so much that I took my coffee and doughnuts and consumed them in the car rather than sitting inside. Absolutely no hospitality, no kindness and definitely no warm greeting. Brrrrrrrrrrr!

Donut King has some royally amazing donut holes! Large, light, and fluffy yet sweet, you won’t regret grabbing a bag(or two) of a dozen for only $ 1.60. I’ve brought them to work twice and both times people enjoyed them immensely! On the other hand, the donuts aren’t bad — they’re reasonably priced and there’s a fairly decent selection of glazed, sprinkled, custard, jelly, etc in addition to maple bars, twists, and fritters. For the more savory, there’s things like ham and cheese croissants(yet to try!) and coffee for early morning donut runs. There’s nothing particularly amazing or special about them, but sometimes they just hit the spot, you know? The main downside about this establishment is the customer service. While the donut holes are AMAZING and the donuts are not bad, the customer service is just… almost nonexistent. The several times that I’ve been there, they’ve been nice enough to throw in an extra donut or two, but no smiles were offered. Sure, I can understand that it must be difficult to wake up so early to run a business like that, but the staff just seems SO tired and unamused that it sometimes seems like they don’t appreciate your business. For now, if you live in Rancho, this place is super convenient to quickly drop in, pick up donuts, and go — parking is easy and usually open, and there’s typically no line around 8−9am. However, if they want to truly keep their customers loyal, then I think the customer service has to be turned up a notch — more friendly faces to go along with your sugary sweet box of joy!

This place is a joke. They have terrible customer service, they can’t even look you in the eye. Their donuts are OK I guess, if they happen to have any when you’re there. I will drive on next time.

hi-ya! I like Donut King because I’m pretty confident it’s a family owned business. They seem to take pride in the product and coffee is reasonable. The location is super close to work and easy to get in and out. Only draw-back is it’s right next to the light rail AND while that may be good for many… I feel light rail has too many transients and loiterers hanging about. Does that sound like an old person comment – maybe, but it’s true. Anyway the location is clean, and product good – the donuts don’t seem saturated in deep fried oil, but I’m sure they are. Overall nonetheless 5 stars because of location, decent product and they been around for what seems like forever.

Tried the plain buttermilk donut. Not bad. A little dry on the inside. If in the area give Allen’s Donuts a try.

I hate to say it. First of all, the donuts are not different from many other donuts that I’ve been to in the last three decades. I am very selective when it comes to donut. So I know what I eat. Second of all, the lady at the counter didn’t seem to be happy for what she does. She really didn’t hear what I said. Instead, she said something else. I just followed her because I spent less. Over all, this place is just ok. I will stop by when I really want a donut now. Otherwise, I travel a little further for what I really like.

I sometimes want something sweet & this place has some delish, fresh, light donuts. From glaze, chocolate, maple, cream filling aaaaand blueberry, old fashion, twists, Apple and many more. I stop here when in rancho Cordova. I’ve had my fair share of gross donuts and this place is the opposite. I did notice a price change, they went up. But it’s still worth it. The times I’ve bought a box of donuts the lady has given me a free small donut or two. There were other days I’ve gone in later in the morning &ALL of the glazed donuts are gone! So I had to do what I do… I left haha. I’m just not a maple or chocolate fan so don’t mind me. Come get donuts y’all! They’re delish. Mm donut holes… Nom nom nommmm… perfectly Glazed… –1 star due to price increase

So rude and never have a good selection! Overpriced, as well. Employees have horrible customer service and make you feel like you are bothering them. Gave them the benefit of the doubt once but happened again the next time. Won’t be back.

Best donuts! Been here twice this week already. The donuts have the perfect crispyness on the outside and so soft and fluffy inside.

My review is solely based on the donuts! Someone was nice enough to bring us these donuts the morning of my sons regatta at Lake Natoma. .. so I’m not sure how the service or the price was. What I do know is that these donuts were the best donuts I’ve had in a while! Wasn’t oily or had that old oil flavor to it where it gives you that bad after taste. .. instead it had soft dough with a perfect sweetness to it. Honestly, I thought it was just me but my friends agreed that it just melted in your mouth. It was such a surprise! For regular, old school donuts this is the place to go. Nothing fancy, just simple and delicious! Next time I’m in the area I’ll have to remember this spot!

Parking for Donut King is easy. Lots to go around. The place seemed pretty busy when I got there. There was a homeless man sitting in one of the booths enjoying his coffee. I was here today for a dozen donuts and a ham and cheese croissant. Wide assortment of all kinds of donuts(maple bars, chocolate bars, custard filled donuts, jelly filled donuts, glazed, etc). The donuts were for my coworkers and the ham and cheese croissant was for me. The donuts were amazing and everyone that had one enjoyed it. The ham and cheese croissant I ordered was for me but I was not too crazy about it. It definitely was not«ready to eat» when I got it out. I had to microwave it for about 20 seconds when I got to work to really enjoy it but even then I will have to admit it was not my favorite. I will stick to the donuts.

Great donuts & service! My favorite is their maple bars. Very reasonable & great to take to work. Highly recommend! PS — As far as the panhandlers go… I don’t mind them as long as they don’t bother me. I’ve seen this establishment provide coffee on cold, brisk days & a donut to panhandlers & I appreciate that as it shows concern for their fellow man. They even have a tip cup so they can feed the local ferals.

This donut place is the closest to my apartment, so I gave it a try, and I loved it! The prices were reasonable, and they had a good variety of donuts. I came in the afternoon, so I was nervous that they might not have many choices left — but they still had tons! Also, the donuts were fresh. My favorite donuts to order are the maple bars, and theirs did not disappoint. :) I took off one star for this review because I wish they were open later in case I have a donut craving in the evening(which is starting to happen right now). Nonetheless, I will be back!

This placr has great donuts at an affordable price! The donuts are soft and taste wonderful. The place is fairly clean and the staff are nice, but a bit on the quite side. I love that whenever I go in to the shop there is always a nice selection of donuts.
