Count me as one more person who got taken. I found them online( ). They advertised a $ 19 charge to rekey locks. I called to inquire(local number 916−282−5162). They confirmed the $ 19 charge and said there was another $ 19 for the service call. I double-checked that the total would be $ 38 before agreeing to the service. The locksmith called to confirm the appointment, but his phone number had a 347 area code, which is in New York. I phoned the service to ask if that was correct. They said yes. The guy showed up 25 minutes late — unmarked van. Got right to work and finished in 20 minutes. Handed me a bill for $ 148. I complained to the service, but they said they never quoted a price over the phone. Said they would get back to me in 2 – 5 business days — just past the 3 days needed for me to dispute the fee, which I will do in a minute. THISIS A SCAM! The company lists itself as a local company, but they are based in Portland, Oregon. They fight you over the phone and steal your money. I complained to the BBB. Pass this on! THISIS A SCAM!

Watch out for these guys! They are horrible! A guy came and quoted me 350.00 so I told him no thank you, he continued to harass me telling me that I won’t find a cheaper deal. His quote immediately started going up as soon as he took off 2 locks. I told him he needs to leave and just tell me how much I owe him for the work he did. He told me I owe 275.00 for taking off 2 locks!!! This company is full of criminals! Look up call kurtis locksmith episode! Do not use this company!!!

The new number I called is(916) 244‑3931, and they told me it would be $ 85.00 for a mailbox lock replacement. A guy shows up 30 mins later at the apartment complex and tells me that since I drilled into a lock, it’d take a lot longer and would thus be more expensive. I said OK, how much? 140, plus a 29 service charge. I didn’t really have any other choice and he was talking like it was all complicated. So I said OK, I’ll do it. He goes out to grab an invoice, I hear a hammer bang a couple of times, and he comes back. Tells me to sign, I sign, and then he pulls out the lock he had just taken out – all in under 5 minutes! It pisses me off most that he lied by saying it’d take him more than an hour. Also, I called the lady up, they do not have an office and wouldn’t provide an address or anything for me. This company should go bankrupt. They’re deceiteful and scammers.

Hi — This is one of the few times that I have been ripped off in my life. It felt bad enough to be locked out of our house but to have someone lie to us to extract another $ 65 dollars was awful. Please avoid this company at all costs.

Very disappointed. I paid double, maybe triple what I should have!

Thanks for Brian’s comment, i was looking for a locksmith and when i found this post, i google 24 hour locksmith scam and a lot of people have been scammed by this company. When you call them, the dispatcher is somewhere in different state, they give you a cheap estimated price but the guy who came to help you wore no uniform, unmarked car, helped you then charge you so much more than estimated price. Maybe im biased, but that’s what I read on Google. Let me know if anyone finds this one legit.
