I love this restaurant, but in the past few months it has gotten more and more expensive. My husband and I used to come here often, but the current prices are prohibitive.

I had to arrange dinner for 10 people at the last minute. The staff at Vinnie’s was extremely accommodating! The feedback from the group was«Food was excellent», «Wait staff were completely on top of things, even with 3 other large parties», «the atmosphere was perfect’! These comments came from every member of the group! I will definitely recommend Vinnie’s to any and all who will listen!

We love Vinnie’s. It is probably the best steak and lobster in Raleigh. The lobster is huge and the steak buttery and delicious. We come here for special occasions and celebrations. It’s beyond delicious. It even gives Angus Barn a run for the best steak.

Second visit. Big disappointment. Calamari nothing great. The Ahi Tuna appetizer was grocery store quality, you would be laughed out of a Ruth’s, Morton’s, or Del Frisco serving that crap. The biggest disappointment was the 62 dollar«dry aged» Delmonico, it wasn’t really dry aged for any amount of time, or a Delmonico. I buy better steaks at Costco, I won’t be back.

We just left this place after celebrating our anniversary. It was amazing. There was nothing we were disappointed with. Our waiter, Mike, was very attentive and easy to talk to. He was very knowledgeable with the menu. My Dh had the bacon wrapped king filet and I had the steak Oscar. It was melt in your mouth delicious. The Gouda potatoes au gratin were incredible. Definitely worth the prices. We are already planning our next dining experience.

We had a wonderful dinner here. I got the NY strip and my fiancé got the Steak Oscar. Both were delicious. We also got salads and the french fries. The caesar salad was decent, the wedge salad was awesome. The fries were soo good — we got two orders of them, but definitely could’ve gotten one order because they are very generous plates. Our server was very nice and attentive. The only thing we found odd was how warm they kept it in the restaurant — I am almost never too warm, but it was a little stuffy. The poor busboy was sweating profusely! Vinnie’s is now tied with Sullivan’s for our favorite steak in Raleigh.

So this was my first visit here and was fairly impressed. This really deserves a 4.5 rating, but when rating a resturant I consider location, décor, elegance, setting… Along with obviously the food. The food was 5 star, we had a party of 10 and appetizers, entrée, etc were all first rate. I got the bacon wrapped filet, cooked perfectly and with great taste. Price though was quite high, along the lines of Ruth’s Chris or Flemmings. The setting and other aspects drop it a star. It’s more of an older country club plus tavern setting, so not as elegant as top rated establishments. Wait staff was attentive but not overwhelming like a 5 star would be. All in all though a great special occasion destination.

Finally an old school restaurant that sticks to its’ roots. From the white linen table cloth, leather menus and a bar full of what appeared to be regulars, it was like stepping 30 years back in time. The servers and table attendants looked like well oiled machines. Our server, Mandy, was beyond great. She was knowledgable, friendly and quick. It was truly one of the most pleasant dining experiences. My boyfriend had the king cut rib eye and raved about it. I had the eggplant Parmesan. Don’t be afraid to take your veggie friends family here because I found there were many vegetarian options. Definitely go here, but DEFINITELY make a reservation.

Fantastic dinner. Not the cheapest bite in town but well worth it. The best part for us was the wide selection of very appealing entrees to choose from. The aged rib eye was delicious but much too generous of a cut to finish. Potatoes au gratin side was delicious but overly generous as well. Fantastic dining experience. Can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been to Vinnie’s three times now since I’ve been traveling to Raleigh for work and I stay within walking distance to Ruth’s Chris if that tells you something. Vinnie’s fits the bill in terms of a more classic, personal steak house. Each time I order the filet, ask the bartender to recommend a red wine and get a salad to start. The bartender has been very helpful and friendly 2⁄3 times that I have been there. One of my visits I think the person who was there had an off night, but we can all have those. Most of the patrons at the bar seemed to know each other and the bartender, but they were friendly to me so I didn’t feel at all uncomfortable. It’s a good sign there is a regular crowd there. On one of my visits the woman next to me was having the fried shrimp, they smelled amazing, and I can tell fresh shrimp. So I imagine they must source their seafood properly. If you are in the mood for seafood I can’t imagine going wrong with those shrimp, yummy! If you are in Raleigh, and you are looking for a classic steakhouse with great food and atmosphere, give Vinnie’s a try, you won’t be disappointed.

I love this place. The atmosphere is perfect but it’s more than that, the service is great… but also informal… like meeting up with old friends. It’s my favorite spot in Raleigh.

Good service, better food and the best filet in Raleigh(yes, better than Angus Barn), all wrapped in ambiance that takes you back about 40 years to old time supper clubs. Everything is al a carte, and it’s on the higher end of the price scale, but it’s still right on par with Angus Barn.

Vinnie’s is a Raleigh favorite. Excellent steaks, a great«tavern menu» at the bar or one of the outdoor tables. On a recent Tuesday it was half price wine night and we enjoyed a lovely French Champagne with our perfectly cooked steaks, and a nice Cabernet. Experienced servers, some who have been there for years. Sitting at the bar allows you to feel as though you are in an episode of «Cheers.» Steve, the bartender may NOT know your name, but he will remember your drink. And by the way, Vinnie’s has the best lettuce wedge in Raleigh.

This was our first visit & Duane was our server. Highly recommend him because he was knowledgeable of the menu and service was out of this world. Food, service, ambiance were all amazing! Amy the manager, London the hostess and Tom the chef are exceptional at what they do! Worth every penny we spent! We will be back!

While on a business trip to Raleigh recently I decided to make the short drive from my hotel in North Hills to Vinnie’s as my clients of whom I was taking to dinner live near there. I had been to Vinnie’s a few years back and had excellent food and service, however this time around I was disappointed — not with the food, but the service(when I was there a few years ago I had a beautiful lady from Texas as my server who was great and made our group feel so welcome as well as giving us outstanding service — I asked the bartender about her, but he said she had not worked there in a while). Food is still excellent and maybe I just got a bad server — steaks are excellent so I might try once more when I am in the Raleigh area the next time just in case my bad service was a random happening.

Went for an anniversary dinner. Great food and terrific service. The scallops wrapped in bacon were delicious. The Gouda potatoes were unique and very good(enough for two). The spinach and artichoke dip was also incredible.

This place is AWESOME, and highly recommended. We had previously heard nothing but great things, and it lived up to that top billing! Outstanding food(steak is GREAT), great service and a really nice atmosphere… we will be returning again, soon, to enjoy this great restaurant.

A couple of friends and I had New Year’s Eve dinner here for the first time. I was expecting something similar to Rey’s or Ruth Chris setting, but it has an old traditional southern feel to the location. There’s a large bar set up as soon as you walk in giving it a sports bar first impression. The service was good and he gave his honest opinion about the food. We started with an order of spinach & artichoke dip with warm fresh pita triangles. Most got the house or Cesar salads. I opted for French onion soup instead which was satisfying especially on a chilly night. I am not very«fluent» in different steaks & the explanations were a little hard for me to follow so I settled for the crusted jumbo shrimp. I also ordered Mac n cheese, as always. The others ordered in-bone cowboy steak & Delmonico ribeye. The mashed potato & sweet potato sides were delicious. We opted out of dessert & simply has tea with a complimentary mint/chocolate straw.
