Went here with our family on taco Tuesday. My retried beans were cold and both me & my daughter got diarrhea the next day. We think it was the salsa. We will not be back.

Ordered«a shot of good tequila in a shooter glass» so I could sip on it instead of doing a shot.… What came back was a shot of Don Julio Blanco in a PLASTICCUP! Also, I was charged for a double. I didn’t order a double, and it sure as heck didn’t look like a double. So $ 14.95 for 1 shot of tequila served in a plastic cup! pobre de mí. Estoy menos rico y más sabio.

Great food and good service. The server seemed new but was working so hard and very friendly I’ll give him a «A» for his extra effort. The tacos al Carbone chicken were very good. Mmmmmmmmmmmm Chips were warm and fresh and salsa was very flavorful. Bartender’s Margarita was also a hit. Only 1 if you’re driving.

Torerros is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant. I have been coming to their Raleigh locations since I was in high school almost 15 years ago. They have an amazing selection of food and drinks. I’ve probably tried everything on the menu and haven’t found anything that I didn’t like. They use fresh ingredients and the staff is extremely helpful. We have had large 40 people parties and small get togethers and everything was perfect every time we come. I am looking forward to some warm weather, Carne Asada, and a draft Dos Equis with a lime wedge. MMM.

I am completely unimpressed with this place. With all of the awesome Mexican restaurants in the area, they need to step it up. The salsa was mediocre(but lots of it). My kids ate their dinners but only because they were very hungry(their words). My chicken tostada was bland and very chicken-y(not a compliment). My husband was equally disappointed. I will say the service was great. Unfortunately our first trip will be our last.

The food here leaves much to be desired. I had a spinach and a chicken enchilada. The spinach was watery and the chicken was very tough. The refried beans were so full of lard they were unedible — a greasy glob on my plate. The $ 1.50 margaritas on Monday give this place 2 stars, but the food and 91.5 health score have scared me away.

Went to this location for Mother’s Day dinner as it is near our neighborhood. We’ve eaten here previously since the opened this location, and each time seems to be more disappointing. The last two visits, my meal was not served hot(not even moderately warm), as though it sat in the kitchen during our longer-than-expected wait for our food to be served. I had Steak Fajita Quesadillas today, and Pollo Fundido last time; flavor is good, but wouild be SO much better if served hot. Service also is somewhat lacking as compared to the Atlantic Avenue location, where you are always greeted, seated, and immediately served by a friendly waiter. Leland location: Seat yourself, hope a waiter realized you are there in a reasonable amount of time; service is perfunctory, very little eye contact or conversation. It is nice having a sit-down table service restaurant so close to home, but we fear this place won’t last unless management addresses service and food delivery issues.

I’m lucky I live near this restaurant. If you want to try or like tacos, burritos and alike you’ll love it here. The serving is big the price is less and the service is very good. I usually order the Mariscos a whole fried Tilapia Fish with rice and beans and vegetable. They are easy to talk to asking for more rice or requesting for no veggies which my son does. I like unwinding with their Sangria and they have music or karaōke on selected days. The ambience is timely and updated.

I love the ceviche here. My husband loves the carne asada. Service can be a little slow. We have had 3 servers at one meal one time. They have a large menu. I prefer this place only slightly above San Juan just slightly. But they are about equal to me.

Best fajita quesadilla I’ve had. Chips were fresh and salsa was solid. Service was good and attentive.

Chips and Queso came out extremely fast with drink order. I decided to try the Chicken Taquitos, don’t think I’ll do that again. Chicken Taquitos are shredded chicken and cheese wrapped and rolled in a fried tortilla. The chicken was packed into the roll, not to mention chicken was VERY dry and I could barely see and taste the cheese. The fried rolls were placed on a plate with guacamole, lettuce, sour cream, refried beans and rice. The bottom of the rolls were soggy due to being placed on top of guac and beans. As far as service goes, the waiter was kind. But he was missing most of the time, so if I needed something I made sure to ask while he was around. As I’m writing this review now waiting to see him again to ask for a to go bag. Overall, Torreros is usually a good spot just think I went on a bad day…

Finally was able to try this place, and have mixed feelings. The décor is beautiful and well done. Staff was very friendly and service was very good. But, the food was hit or miss. Fajitas were excellent, taco salad was a huge miss, and quesadilla was acceptable. Chips were fine, but the salsa was rather bland and the rice and beans were completely flavorless(cardboard has more flavor). Perhaps I had expected too much as I had read the raleigh location was great? I normally try restaurants 2 or 3 times before I write the place off, but there is nothing special to get me to come back to and try it again. Prices on par with other places who have better or more consistent quality.

We’ve eaten at Toreros several times and we’re fans. Because it’s in our neighborhood we mostly do take-out lunch. We’ve found the food consistent, delicious and the portions nap-inducing huge. The lunch combination plates are a real deal, ranging from $ 5.25 to $ 7.50 and they are a great way to sample the menu. We have sampled most of the menu, and the stand out favorites are the chicken dishes. The chicken at Toreros is pulled and full of flavor, like it had been roasted with aromatics. The chicken chimichanga is a winner, the tortilla was perfectly fried, it is comfort food, like a hearty pot pie. The service is great, there is plenty of parking and they give you a bag of fresh chips with sides of guacamole and salsa. Also, right now kids eat free on Tuesday nights. Note: Don’t let the photo dissuade you. Presentation in takeout is next to impossible. This was delicious.

Had dinner here with my wife, father, our Au pair and child about a week or so ago. It was not good. The food was huge in quantity but lacking all flavor, the ground beef in tacos, burritos frankly looked as though it was dog food. The fajita with beef was poorly cooked, almost like shoe leather while the vegetables were over cooked. The only saving grace was the inexpensive beer specials. No one in our party enjoyed ourselves or the food. Frankly I seriously doubt this will succeed as a long term restaurant unless the quality is significantly improved.

Would have given four stars but there are two things they really need to change. The salsa is very obviously made from cheap canned tomatoes.. Very distinct taste that comes from nowhere else. It is why I don’t buy canned tomatoes from aldi anymore. So that is one negative. The other is they charge over THREE dollars for a single grilled jalapeño. Yes. One. Ridiculous. On the positive side the service is stellar. The food is excellent. Portions are large but not crazy(sometimes too big of portions are unappetizing to me). They absolutely have perfected the seasoning and preparation of the meat. Refried beans are great and I’m usually underwhelmed by them at most places. Oh and I must mention the patio is awesome! There was even some unexpected live music out there! We absolutely will be back. I hope the owners fix that salsa because it’s so disappointing when everything else is so good.

A few weeks ago noticed a new restaurant had opened. Stopped in to check it out and were rewarded with royal treatment. The owner told us they had only been open for a week and that the restaurant was decorated by a designer straight from Guadelajara. They were engaged in a «soft opening» and have several other stores in the Raleigh area. The food was excellent. I judge any Mexican restaurant first by their refried beans and they were out of this world. Haven’t tasted such excellent refried beans since a local favorite Mexican restaurant in Santa Fe New Mexico. The rice and enchilada entrée were just as good with real fresh chicken, no skimping on the meat. The chips were great, too, with a thick, tasty salsa accompanying them. Went back to Toreros tonight and three of us had a beef burrito, chicken taquitos and steak fajitas, each excellent without being overly salty. This is our new go-to Mexican restaurant, even though it is a solid 15 minute drive away.
