The Barber Shop Professionals

I have been coming here for a few years now and every time I get a great haircut that works into my busy schedule. Ed is top notch and I’m sure the other barbers are also.

I was excited when I saw an old-​fashioned barber pole and the place was busy. But that excitement quickly went away. This was the worst head shave I’ve ever had. No softening up of the hair on your head with hot towels or anything, just buzz your head with clippers, then slather on the cream and go to town with a straight razor. After my head was shaved there was a hot rag on my head for about 20 seconds, but that was it, it was the end of the shave. They didn’t have any post-​shave balm or even aftershave for my freshly-​shorn head. I had to rush back home after the barber visit to my own bathroom in order to apply some moisture to my parched scalp. There was a bit of razor burn on my sideburn area too. I will not be coming back. I haven’t yet found a perfect head shave, but Park’s Barber Shop in North Raleigh gives a head shave that is much much better than this place.
As a side note, I found it kind of odd that they don’t even offer face shaves.

Ed is a good fellow and a great barber. I rarely plan my cuts, so I call when in the area and he almost always has me in the barber chair shortly after I hang-​up the phone. Chris and Ray are good guys as well, when I need a back-​up. The new location is clean and modern, there is always a good old show on the big screen.
I think the $ 20 per cut is a good price for what you get, nice to have a place that still uses warm shaving cream and a razor. Thumbs up!

The best barber shop experience I’ve had in Raleigh. They don’t use clippers like a lot of places, which means you get a better quality haircut. I recently started going to Ed, but it seems like all of the guys in there are good. I also like the fact that they take appointments, so you’re in & out quickly.
The $ 20 price is a little higher than other barber shops, but worth it for the quality.

Ed Has been my barber for the last five years. He is great and the new shop is an upgrade. I highly recommend.

These guys are great. I have been going to see Chris since I moved to raleigh almost 10 years ago and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. Chris and the guys caught a raw deal from a greedy owner at their old place and decided it was high time to make their own name at their own shop. Happy for them and would recommend them to any gentleman looking for a great cut.
