I’ve been here twice now and the first time, the bartender was nice, put on the game for us. It was Monday night football, so I was surprised that a sports bar would not have it on automatically, but whatever. You could tell that the other patrons were regulars, they were fine. The second time, the other 2 people that were in there left shortly after we arrived. The bartender was nowhere to be found most of the time and when we asked when they closed, he said, unapologetically«I’m just waiting for you guys to leave so I can close up» Because of the sercice, i will not be back to try the food. I was really hoping for more as this is the closest sports bar to me. Bummer

The design is cool. It has a football field design on the floor. The bartender was absent half the time and no one was in there. Not great service and really expensive drinks. Just keep driving you will find something better any where else.

I am not sure where to begin? I first went on Karaōke night. I wont hold the location responsible for the horrible singing(where is Simon Cowell when you need him?). The bar staff is great. Good service, good drinks and decent cocktail pricing. As for the food, it was very skimpy and almost microwave style. Sure, this is bar food but it has a long way to go in the presentation and quality department. There is an outdoor seating area. Steel chairs and steel tables surrounded by a steel fence. Not really all that aesthetic. Decent pool tables but could use some better lighting if it wants to compete against other pool halls in the area for tournaments or such. I may return as soon as soon as my hearing returns.(it was ultra loud indoors)

Went here a couple of times on a recent visit to Raleigh to see my girlfriend. It’s kind of a «dive» but it’s in the middle of nowhere. There’s two pool tables, several tv’s and a very small bar area. We went there for karaōke, which was fun. The crowd is a little«older» though, which is cool but we felt a little out of place. The atmosphere is alright and everyone seemed to be having a good time. It’s a little small but we never had a problem finding a seat. I’d be willing to go back again sometime for karaōke, I think.

Tailgaters Sports Bar is not usually a place on my radar to go to for a couple reasons: 1) it’s a bit out of my way from my usual downtown stomping grounds for drinking and 2) it’s a bit of a hole in the wall. Tailgaters is the perfect combination of a biker bar and a sports bar. I’d never been there this past Saturday and only went because my friend’s band was rockin’ the house! It’s got a small parking lot and is just off Millbrook on the stretch near Falls of Neuse. My friend’s band rocked it out in the band area. It looks like they might have live music on a fairly regular basis, but other than that just DJ or music played in the house. There’s a huge wall of tvs — and I’m not talking flat screens — along one wall for game nights. Then on the other side of the room there’s some billiards and other bar games. Outside there’s a nice patio to chill, drink, and probably eat — though I wasn’t there to eat. A lady came over from the bar to take our drinks. My girlfriend had a glass of wine — couldn’t believe they even had wine — and I got a Coors Light. Most of the other folks there were either with our crew to support the band or random biker/redneck type folks. All were friendly, but it was just an odd mix. Some folks danced while others just watched us dancers, with amusement. The main point was that everyone seemed to bob their heads, drink, smile, and enjoy the music together. Isn’t that what tailgating’s all about anyway?
