When I think of the best subs in Raleigh I always think of Penn Station. I had never heard of them until a coworker one day brought in a sandwich and gave me half. Every since that day I have been hooked. Some subs are excellent while others don’t suite my taste, but overall I really love Penn Station. The bread is great, and the meats are always piled on from end to end. I always get the Italian sub. I have tried a few others sandwiches there, but I always go back to the Italian. You can customize the toppings to add, or remove items. As far as service goes, the staff is on point. The manager there is Malik. He is extremely outgoing and wants to make sure you have a good meal. If you don’t let him know and he will make it right. If you go on Tuesdays, it will be FREE cookie Tuesday and you will get a treat if you dine in. Now for the sad part of my review, why I removed a star. Penn Station, I am upset with you that you keep decreasing the student discount. First it was 15% off the entire order, then it went to 10% off the entire order, then 10% off just the sandwiches, now it is only 10% off just one sandwich.(The reason why I ordered two sandwiches it cheaper to order two 6″ subs that one 12″ sub before discount.) Stop being cheap and gives us struggling college students the discount we need. After all, you are not the cheapest place, maybe the best sub place, but not the cheapest.

Want a great sandwich and a great attitude to boot? Go to the spring forest location and meet Edward the manager. He makes you feel like he is welcoming you into his home. I have never had a bad sandwich at either location and I love how fresh they are and freshly prepared as well. I love the cheesesteak sandwich that I order with pepperoni and cheese only. It reminds me so much of north Philly where there was a special place that made that cheesesteak for me. Everything is cooked to order and the fries are awesome too! Hubby likes it too and it is a place we can agree on when we just want something quick. Edward(the new manager) at this location was just awesome. He alone is worth the visit to put a smile on your face.

Had not updated my review since 2009, but I’ve been here many times since them. New to the menu is the option of a cold or toasted subs on some sandwiches. Also the menu board is new and a lot easier to use. I still favor the Penn Station concept, where they have the subs listed with the basic ingredients and show what options you can add — or remove. Everything is fixed fresh before you. It’s my Sunday night favorite meal!

Never had a bad sub here. The bread is always fresh. I love the chicken subs and of course the fries. Plus the service is always friendly.

I was first introduced to Penn Station by my boyfriend. The subs are always delicious no matter what you order. It is easy to personalize your sub with the toppings you like and everything is made fresh there — the meat is sliced fresh, the potatoes are cut and fried there, etc. Usually I have a favorite sub at your standard chain places and stick to it, but I’m looking forward to trying all of the subs here! The food is pretty good, but they get my order wrong nearly every single time.
