Terrible customer service!!! I live a block from the store and saw an item on markdown online I wanted to purchase. The item was not marked down in the store but I asked if they would honor this price. They proceeded to tell me I had to order online to get this price and pay shipping even though I live within walking distance. I cannot explain how arrogant and pompous the store owner is. She was so rude, it was honestly shocking to me. There is a reason this place only has one star, I will never return. Stay away!

So far, the process of returning an item that they say is damaged is a nightmare. It was just tried on and then returned to bag. Never worn just tried on. Now how can I prove it was ripped before I brought it home? I can’t. They claim they always inspect items but I was there when they wrapped it and there was no inspection. Very upppity attitudes from the help. I feel like a criminal and all I did was purchase a gift and return it for another size. Usually love the store and it’s contents, but will shop elsewhere. They have nothing you can’t find somewhere else and be treated better. Do not shop at this store.

What a horrible place. Not only are the items they sell overpriced and poor quality but the staff seems to think they are managing a high-end jewelry boutique. They treated my six year old son and I as if we were toxic from the moment we walked in. My son is well behaved and knows what to touch and what not to touch. My suggestion would be to give up the prime corner real estate location and put a store in that actually had quality stuff and is run by mature business owners. I’ll tell 10 friends about my experience and they’ll tell 10 friends and so on. What a joke.

Do not buy from these folks online. I recently purchased a robe which did not meet my expectations when it arrived. When I inquired about returning the item, I was told there is a 25% restocking fee. Amazing. And they said they were within their rights because there was a tiny box to check right before ordering that says you agree with all their fine print. Apparently in the fine print you agree to be ripped off should you try to return something to them. They only agreed to give me a store credit. This is completely unhelpful to me. I was looking online for a nice robe. It wasn’t what I expected when it arrived. I sent it back at my expense, but they are still charging me. Highly, highly unethical. Should be numerous, CLEAR warnings of this return policy, not something hidden in the small print. DONOTBUYONLINEFROMTHESEPEOPLE.

DONOTSHOPATTHISSTORE. I purchased several shirts amoung several other items and had a problem with one– fabric tore after only several wearings– $ 57 Yala shirt down the tubes. This store was clearly unwilling to work with me. The salesperson lied and said she would see if she could help me but called back in several minutes to say there was nothing she could do. I callled the manufacturer and they said if I had purchased it directly from them they would have replaced the shirt with no problem. The store receipt says no returns and they mean it. You are on your own. Look in the store then buy directly from the manufacturers so if you do happen to have a problem you will actually receive customer service after you pay full price for an item.

We have recently started to re-do our master bedroom in our main house and I found some Yves Delorme bedding at our local YD store that I fell in love with. I only bought the duvet that day because I wanted to make sure my husband loved it as much as I did before purchasing the whole set. Thankfully, he did. I had our Family Assistant order the rest of the set online because I didn’t have time to go back downtown(bottom sheet, top sheet and 2 pillowcases) that week. She ordered them from the Opulence of Southern Pines store b/c they show their inventory on their website. She accidently ordered shams, not realizing I wanted standard pillow cases. When I called the store to get a return slip they were completely rude and unhelpful. I had kept all the original packaging and receipts, and the shams were unused and just as they had arrived to me. The only thing that was missing was a small, 2 inch white tag that said«euro sham», and because of that they won’t let me return them. Literally, I have all of the plastic, pictures, even the cardboard that the shams were wrapped around, and they will not let me return this item b/c of a small tag that is easily re-printable. This is after I spent over $ 600 on 2 sheets from their store as a brand new customer. California is not known for it’s great customer service, but I have NEVER encountered such rudeness and idiotic policies as this. If you’re thinking you’ll get southern hospitality at this store — think again. WORSTCUSTOMERSERVICEEVER. DON’T SHOPHERE.

A surprising store. When I walked in the door, I had to take a deep breath because it felt high-end, pricey and way out of my league. However, after taking the time to look through the linens and towels, I decided the price, although high, was still below retail, but would be worth it. The towels made of a bamboo and organic cotton blend are the softest towels I’ve ever felt — and this without fabric softener. It’s hard to believe bamboo can be made so soft. The bedding was a high thread count — something I look for — and felt like silk. If you’re looking for bright colors, you probably won’t find them here — Opulence focuses on the earth tones — natural dyes and colors from what I could tell, but exactly the types that give an understated, elegant look. The home fragrances, too, were amazing. I prefer light, non-sweet scents and this place had more than I could choose from. I was concerned with spraying so many fragrances but was assured by one of the workers that it wouldn’t be a problem. I think Opulence at this location has it’s main office in Southern Pines, NC, but I’m glad they have a store here. I’d hate to travel so far to get something so nice.
