Great little pub. I’ve been here many times over the years and never had any problem with service or the food. They were also accommodating to my two dogs.

I was just there and I’m telling you this is one of the best places in Raleigh. The staff is friendly and the service is great. The FOOD is the biggest winner here. BEST pub — comfort food in Raleigh!

Stopped in today for a few beers — the bartender at the time was excellent(@4:30) and then was replaced with a female that came in complaining about the owner/manager to EVERYONE about the upcoming relocation of the est. and her expected lost earnings. She NEVER acknowledged me(even though I was there another 45 min), didn’t offer water or even say hello. And WHO’S fault is it she isn’t in the $$$?!!

Stopped in for an after dinner drink and was immediately underwhelmed by the unfriendly bartender. We were eventually served drinks by another waitress, but the staff, overall, was indifferent to us. Will def not go back… did not eat there, but the menu looked mediocre at best.

Fantastic restaurant for the first visit and that is the only reason for not giving five stars. The food was fabulous and so fresh and the wine list is fantastic as well as full bar. We enjoyed so much that we are here again the very next day !!

Well, well, well, what do we have here, a nice pub with a bit of a divey feel in the heart of North Ridge? Yes please. Went for lunch, had the philly cheesesteak and onion rings, both very good. Served hot, very hot. Service was good. I will be back.

My favorite after work spot. All of the sandwiches are great. The fries are always hot and fresh. The food is definitely a step up from somewhere like an ale house or fox and hound but priced about the same. There’s not a huge selection of drafts but they are chosen well and should be enough suit any taste. There are 3 nice tv’s at the bar and it’s a good place to take in a game although there’s not really a sports bar vibe.

Great hamburgers and fantastic prices. Full bar. Waitresses always remember and welcome you. We call it our place. It is wonderful to have a neighborhood hangout that is consistent. This is not a trendy fancy place but is instead a reflection of the type of high quality bar food you would expect to find in place in Northridge. Don’t love the chef salad though. Stick with sandwiches, burgers, steaks and wings and you will be more than happy.

Renovation is going on with the outside of this pub. Can only hope the same thing is going on in the kitchen, as our recent experience was not impressive food-wise. Wanting a light dinner, I went with the soup of the day(Italian Wedding Soup), which sounded so wonderful, but ACK! was served what sure as heck had to be CANNED soup. I couldn’t eat it. Also had a side salad that was okay. Meanwhile, Husband had a Southwestern salad that was okay. Small. Nothing impressive. Service was fine. Really liked the gal that waited on us, but there was nothing she could do about the disappointing food, although we were happy that the soup came off the bill. We left and went somewhere else. Am hopeful that it was a temporary situation though.

2 of 4 stars(average casual dining). (see explanation of ratings below) Their website claims they are«upscale»: hardly. I was looking forward to our return visit here, but was disappointed. Steamed veggies were soggy. Fish was WAY overcooked. $ 20-$ 30 per person, booze included, no dessert. About my ratings: Only high-priced dining establishments can garner five stars. Until Unilocal realizes that a fast food joint cannot possibly be ranked equally with a $ 100 per person place, I need to draw the line somewhere. If we were only talking about the quality and presentation of the food, it would be a different story. But, as we know, Unilocal’s rankings take into account the entire dining experience. Therefore, I divide restaurants into three categories(and I wish Unilocal would do the same): 1) fast food and«fast-casual», low-priced(no table service). 2) casual, mid-priced dining(table service, average entrée price: $ 10-$ 20). 3) fine, high-priced dining(linen napkins, no plastic cups, no TV’s in dining room, average entrée priced at more than $ 20, can vary depending on the city). High-priced dining can earn a max of five stars. Mid-priced dining can earn a max of four stars. Fast food can earn a max of three stars.

An unsuspecting bar with good atmosphere. Outside looking in, a passerby my not give the pub a second look but thats what makes it special. Drinks: Full Liquor bar; 5 or 6 beers on draft ranging from shock top, to red oak or a nice IPA. Full line of domestic bottles available; white and red wine as well. Food: A good number of choices; bar food appetizers, sandwiches, soups and salads. Entrees. Good portions and good food; nothing exceptional.

I recently discovered this hidden gem and it’s one of my favorite lunch spots. It’s a small, quaint location that’s perfect for date night or lunch/brunch with the girls. My favorite menu items are: Strawberry Salad–(add chicken, it’s yummy) come hungry… the salads are large and amazing! The Big Boy Grilled Cheese– perfect for a rainy day or when it’s cold outside. If you love cheese, you’ll love this(trust me) I’ve also sampled the Apple Salad with chicken(a friend let me try it) and I’ll probably order it next time I’m there. If it’s nice out, sit outside and enjoy the weather!

I’ve been to this pub once before, in 2008. I remember liking it. However, since we don’t live on that side of town, we don’t usually venture to restaurants over there. Yesterday, we had some errands to run on that side of town, and my fiancé was jones-ing for a blackened fish sandwich, so we decided to head over. It was about 4 in the afternoon on a Saturday, and 90 degrees outside, so we opted to sit inside. The lone bartender/waiter was busy, though – all of the outside seating was filled, and he was also manning the bar. However, we didn’t feel neglected by the bartender or anything, and we weren’t in a hurry, so it all worked out. My fiancé got the blackened fish sandwich he’d been craving… salmon. I would have gotten that myself, except I don’t care for salmon. I wound up getting the portobello mushroom sandwich, which came with fresh spinach and tomato, and I had it sans cheese and mayo. We both got french fries. I will say this – our food was fresh and HOT! We both burned our mouths on the fries. :P My only observation about the mushroom sandwich was that there wasn’t any seasoning on the grilled portobellos – it would have made for a better sandwich. However, my order was right, so I can’t really complain about it. The bartender/waiter was also upfront about the fact that they didn’t have any draft beer, just bottles. My fiancé prefers draft(I suspect most people would), but he was okay with this, since they let us know before ordering anything. I wish we lived closer… we’d eat here a lot more often. As it is, when we’re on that side of town and in the mood for pub food, we’ll make sure to stop in.

We live not far from the pub and have been there many times. Décor: It’s nice, the lamps a little dusty for my taste, but overall we like it. Company we have taken over the years like it as well. It’s a very inviting setting, big televisions, cool photos, all very good. Better since the no smoking ban went info effect. Drinks: Most of the bartenders are very good, they have one who doesn’t do justice to the drinks, but overall, they are very good. Wide variety. They have 2 that make(in my opinion) the best martinis in north Raleigh. Food: Has always been consistent and that is our fav part about the place. My hamburger last time was pretty much just like the time before. Salads are very good, the spinach with warm bacon vinaigrette. The feta and strawberry salad. Apps are all very good. Cost: I consider it a good value for the quality and quantity of food. Service: Some newbies float in and out, they could throw the service off a bit. But, the seasoned wait staff is very good. exceptional, they are professional, attentive, could not ask for more. Highly recommend.

This is a great unassuming place. I was skeptical at first. I love shrimp and grits, and I asked the waitress if she recommended them, and she told me people really love them. She was right, they were great. A little too much cheese for me, but next time I will ask them to go light on that. But perfectly creamy. It’s nice and cozy, I think it’s a good place to go to when it’s colder outside because the outdoor seating is not all that great, and it’s dark inside. I prefer natural lighting, but the food is good, so I would return again. Can’t wait to try some of their dinner choices.

This place is an incredible gem. I found it a few months ago while getting luggage repaired and asking the sales person the best place around for lunch. I have now been there three times and it is great. Today I had a cheeseburger with sauteed onions and a side salad. You would think there is very little that a restaurant can do to make a burger and salad stand out but they did. The burger had a nice, complex flavor and it was smothered with the onions(in other places, when I get sauteed onions I have to look twice just to find them). I am the last person who would be called a salad person but I almost licked the plate with this one. Again, nothing unique but fresh tomatoes and lettuce and more than enough shredded cheese. I would not say they have cutting edge gastronomy but it is one of the best lunch places around.

From the outside the North Ridge pub doesn’t look like much but step inside and you’ll find yourself happy in its cozy and warm little space. Small dining room in front, but the action is in back at the bar! I stopped in for a late dinner and went with some bacon-wrapped scallops(isn’t everything better with bacon?) and the recommended shrimp burger. The scallops were ok, covered in teriyaki sauce but the winner was definitely the shrimp burger. Sweet, lightly fried and tender shrimp on a toasted bun with some slaw and tartar sauce, messy but yum! Service was pretty strong and professional, the crowd a bit older and locals. Now I don’t live in this hood but if I did, I’d probably stop in from time to time. Is the food fantastic? No. Is the place hopping with people and interesting? No. But sometimes you just want to hit a mellow spot for some decent grub and a beer, which is exactly what North Ridge Pub will give you. And sometimes that ain’t half bad at all!

It’s great to find little unique places. After stepping in here for 5 minutes, its obvious this is one of those neighborhood bars where the locals come to mingle, laugh, and generally hang out. I came by because my home internet blew out and I needed a place to spend some time at night getting stuff done(yes, free wi-fi in effect). I pulled up to the bar, had a cranberry vodka and a draft and got my work in. One of the local socialites playfully offered to spill a beer on my computer so I can join in the socializing, which would have been bad for work but probably a lot more fun for me. The staff easy going and knows how to run a bar. Overall, this is an upper-scale place(not a dive bar), with your old school Raleigh folks looking to unwind after the day. I would definitely go back to chill out.
