Ummm, well, ah, it’s pretty inside. Mimi’s could really be something. It’s like they have this beautiful restaurant but just don’t know what to do with it. Like maybe they just threw the operator’s manual out the window. Such potential. Regardless the time of day or the number in our party everything seems to move in slow motion. The food is not bad, it just isn’t memorable. There is just nothing that sticks out other than the décor which is lost within the medocrity of the food and service.

Don’t come on a holiday, their management and hostesses don’t have it together. Don’t come on a regular day either, their food is over priced. The food is always amazing, but the service, management, and pricing aren’t worth the wait.

Great brunch options, tasty muffins, and good salads. However, most of the dinners I’ve had here have been disappointing.

We went here for Valentine’s Day dinner and had a lovely time. They were having a price fix meal for two for $ 30 and it was wonderful. We started with an artichoke crab dip, their famous basket of yummy bread was also brought. I had salmon and hubby had broiled chicken. Our waitress Dawn suggested the potatoes au gratin and we both had that, it was too die for. It was like a yummy casserole. For dessert we shared a red velvet cake which had whipped crème on top. Wow what a wonderful way to end the meal. It was also $ 5 glass of any wine, so we both got the most expensive wines too. Great service by Dawn, wonderful meal, specious table in the back. What a great Valentine’s dinner.

Stpped for Breakfast before an appointment. Had approximately 40 mins to eat, so I was cutting it close. We were seated quickly, had our order taken with 5 minutes. Restaurant maybe at 10% capacity. Food came quickly and tasted good. In the past I have had burnt entrees where they try to hid it, but not today! Was impressed with the friendliness and speed. Will be putting this place back into the rotation for eating out. I would be hesitant to try if it was busy though.

Choose Mimis Café for lunch on New Years Day, probably why I was not impressed by the place as my first time visit. Though I expected the wait, our waitress was working both the bar and several tables; basically the place was under staff. As a result, it took 10 minutes to wait before we could get drinks; we never got bread, which was customary there; and I had to wait for the check then wait again for the server to grab the book to pay. Beyond my biggest grip about the service, the décor and area was very trendy looking with a New Orleans feel. The menu selection for both breakfast and lunch is rather limited. Breakfast featured mainly egg dishes with a sprinkle of other choices of waffles and such. The lunch menu offered a variety of mostly salads and sandwiches; didn’t offer much else and there were only three burger selections, none of which could simply order a plain burger(the most basic one still had cheese and thousand island dressing). In the end, I ordered plain waffles with the breakfast add-on; was able to substitute eggs with potatoes. The waffles is rectangle mostly, but crispy good. The potatoes surprised me, they were basically new potatoes with the wax on’em, but were slightly crispy and good. I also had bacon(because YES, bacon); it was crispy and more on the salty side, but actually matched well with the potatoes I had. I had sweet tea to drink, nothing special there. Overall, the food I ordered was pretty good. But again, I took points off because of the service and lack of choices on menu; I don’t intend to go back again.

Took great care of our family Christmas gathering with our special needs kids. Both the food and service were excellent.

I used to really like the food at Mimi’s, but they have drastically reduced their menu and everything I liked is now gone. Menu is smaller by at least 50%. There are very few vegetarian options. All of the pasta dishes, sandwiches etc have meat. Prices have also gone up quite a bit. The last time I went, I sat for 20 minutes with no service. No one came by to greet us or take drink or food orders. We were completely ignored and we left without even getting drinks. I can’t imagine going back for any reason. The service is horrible and the menu is seriously lacking in variety.

I will give this place another chance I promise I will but«Me. I’ve experienced better» is exactly how I felt. The service was lacking. I don’t know if our server was tired from being there all morning or just flat out didn’t care. It wasn’t even all that busy and of all the booths that were open why were we placed at the one right by the«waiters computer terminal» seriously that spot should only be used if it is the absolute last open space. I saw lots of items on the menu that I really wanted to try. The lucky winner was the Poulet à l’Orange Crêpes. Homemade herbe crêpes filled with herbes de Provence roasted chicken and sautéed spinach in a traditional orange sauce. I love love love crêpes and was so eager to try a crêpes dish that used savory spices rather than a sweet traditional dish. OMGOSHOMGOSH Mimi’s what did you do to the poor crêpes. Total sauce overload what was even worse the dish came with a salad and the salad was not in a separated dish so my salad was sauced too. I was so super disappointed sadden even. The sauce was good not too orange flavored but as for the rest. No freaking clue. Looked like chicken I even saw some spinach but point blank I had an oder of «traditional orange sauce» and salad. Sighs…

A nice, inexpensive place – French Quarter theme chain restaurant. Reminded me of La Madeleine in Dallas, but Mimi’s is a table service restaurant. I had tomato and basil soup(delicious) and an entrée salad(decent). I thought the salad price was a little high(~$ 12 for blue cheese and walnut salad with chicken), but it was a good sized portion and included a full sized muffin. I took most of it home for a second meal. Not a special occasion restaurant, but a great every day place.

Upon moving from Georgia to North Carolina and having this Mimi’s close by, my family and I decided to give it a try one evening for an early dinner. Several people had always talked about how good they are as a chain. Upon entering I was a little put off by how dark the interior seemed but I can only assume it was for ambiance and to play on the New Orleans theme. I didn’t mind. We were seated quickly in a large booth that easily accommodated two high chairs. I must admit, we arrived before the dinner rush but service was a bit slow. It seemed to take a while to get drinks and a bread basket. But when the server did check on us, she was very efficient and helpful. I especially loved that they brought out a small snack for the kids. Not many places do this and it is a great distraction for the kids while the parents look over the menu. We did a special they were having where you could get a salad, an entrée and dessert for a fixed price. My husband had the tomato basil soup and said it was some of the best soup he’s ever had. I went for a caesar and the dressing to lettuce consistency was just right. Both our main meals were hot and delicious and dessert was on point. The only reason I have given 4 stars was for slow service, otherwise we will be back!

Seating: Showing up at around 9:30 this morning, the place was not packed but had an OK crowd. With a less than packed house, I didn’t expect asking for a booth to be a problem. But with only two people in my party, we were asked if we minded taking a smaller booth. While this would not have been a problem, the booth was crammed into a corner and was situated with a waiters computer terminal right behind me, leaving me with the feeling that I’m being constantly watched. Service: Our waitress was aloof throughout the meal and took a number of liberties with the order. I ordered the Original Pain Perdu, and was immediate asked what meat I would like and how I wanted my eggs. I was ordering the full breakfast, but thanks for asking. Our waitress spent more time at some tables than others and would constantly ask yes/no questions before running away to another table, leaving no real room for comment. At one point we were told that our meal would be right out, but then our waitress proceeded to have a long conversation with another table, leading to my next section. Food: COLD! Everything was unevenly heated. There were a few small areas that seemed warm and gave me hope that there were just a couple of cold points. At first I wanted to blame the cold food on the waitress being inattentive, but the potatoes were undercooked and the bacon was limp and rubbery. The over-medium eggs I ordered were over easy, and my girlfriend’s Mardi Gras Omelet was cold. Lastly, my girlfriend’s sourdough toast was more like dried bread. Overall: The seating could be partly blamed on my accepting a small booth(but who puts a booth there?!). The service could be blamed squarely on the waitress(as I have no other servers to compare to at this location). I can’t overlook the undercooked food though. I won’t be returning, even though I can walk here from my apartment.

(review #500) My first visit to a Mimi’s Café was for Sunday morning breakfast. Went about 9 a.m., and was immediately seated. Ordered the French Toast«Full Breakfast», which includes two eggs, juice, and your choice of meat. I went with eggs over easy, apple juice, and bacon. Order was ready with minimal waiting. Enjoyable meal! French toast was ample sized, eggs were done to my liking, and the bacon was thick cut and delicious. I think I made a good choice on my arrival time, as by the time I left it was getting both busier and louder. Nice to have a nicer breakfast option in my area.

This is a chain, but it’s a good one! I have been to this location many times and am always happy with the service and the food. I love their quiches, soups and muffins! The menu is expansive and should please just about anyone. The restaurant is large with several different rooms, so it’s great for groups. It can get crowded, but I have never had to wait too long for a table. Love the fun décor as well!

Not usually my first choice, but the chopped salads, muffins, and quiche are what bring me back. Feeling adventurous on my last visit, I ordered the fish tacos. Blech! I felt bad sending them back, but the thought of finishing was too much to bear. The staff was VERY accommodating and quickly changed my order, reassuring me that I’m not a jerk.(4 stars) Don’t even/ever/dare look and the«featured menu» inserts that offer specials from Tuscany or the Orient. Stick to them yummy pancakes and standard, non fancy items. I usually grab a salad and muffin to go but was in the mood for brunch on site. Sometimes when I need a quick lunch with colleagues, we’ll choose Mimi’s to please the masses. They have a variety to choose from, can accommodate large groups, and are really good at bringing the check with the meal if you let them know you’re in a hurry. The service has always been good. The food… well, they’re happy to please . Try the chopped Cobb. You’ll like it.

I loved Mimi’s Café. The décor was adorable, with a French type atmosphere. I went on a Sunday morning around 11 and it was absolutely PACKED inside. The place was huge, but we still had to wait about thirty minutes for a table. I didn’t mind waiting though, because I guessed it was going to be awesome because of the crowd. It was totally worth the wait. The food was AWESOME and they gave me so much of it for a great price. The menu was very extensive and there was so much delicious stuff to choose from that it made it really hard to decide what to get. I started with a very large cappuccino that had a pumpkin spice flavor shot in it, yummmm!!! For my meal I got an omelette that was huge, toast, fresh fruit and orange juice. And the best part, most meals come with a large muffin! I got a honey oat one and it was awesome! My friend got a meal that came with home fries that were out of this world, I ate some of hers, and was a little jealous that I didn’t get my own. The reason I cannot give Mimi’s the full five stars however was our poor service. Our waitress was terrible. She was so stressed out and it showed, and she was very forgetful and got confused very easily. I figured she might be new so we were very patient with her and I tried not to get angry, but she did make my dining experience less enjoyable. She brought our food out, but never brought us silverware, and ran away before we could ask her for some, so I had to sit and look at my omelet that I wanted to eat SO badly for what felt like an hour, before I stopped another busy waitress and asked her for some silverware. Then the waitress forgot our toast, and after bring the toast, she forgot our juice, and ended up bringing it in to go cups because it took her so long to come back and we were already done with our meals. I will definitely be getting some Mimi’s again in the future. There is so much on the menu I’d still like to try, so I recommend checking it out for yourself!

I am biased when it comes to anything french. I love all things french so I had an open mind to not just love this place because of the french/New Orleans themed décor. I am giving this place 5 stars because it totally deservs 5 stars because of the all-around great experience we had. Went here for breakfast on a Saturday to celebrate engagement of a friend. We started with mimosas which were super yum. Even better was that they give you the champagne split that is remaining so you can make a second mimosa with the juice you get with your breakfast meal! What a deal! I had the quatre fromages quiche which came with home fries and a big a$$ muffin! I chose the blueberry muffin which was so freaking yummy! My mouth is watering right now over how great it was! The quiche was so tasty, but big so I was able to take half home and make another meal out of it. The staff was awesome! Even when our server became busy, the others took up the slack so we never went without attention or drinks being empty. I’ll definitely be back and now that I know you can order and pick-up muffins on their own, I will be back for a to go muffin pack sooner than later!

I really want to like Mimi’s. It is such a cute place, with its French-inspired décor and the straight-out-of-a-romantic-movie story of how it was founded(American man in France during WWII falls in love with the cuisine and a French madmoiselle named Mimi… ooh la la!). Unfortunately, I’ve been here twice, and both times I’ve left underwhelmed. The food just didn’t impress me much. The first time I ordered a veggie wrap, which was advertised on the menu as being served with hummus, and it wasn’t. The second time I ordered the quiche lorraine, and it tasted rubbery and the crust was soggy, like it had come straight out of the microwave. Also, the blueberry muffin that came with it was dry and bordering on stale. Maybe I’m just ordering the wrong things, but it’s a bit pricey for the type of food they serve and I’m not really that anxious to give it a third try.

I have been to many Mimi’s across the country and always get great service no matter which one I go to. The food is always good no matter if I go there for Breakfast or Lunch. The servers are always attentive and quick to keep your coffee cup filled. The décor is very interesting French New Orleans style. Many interesting objects and pictures to prose while enjoying a meal.
