Probably one of the best«public» places to play tennis in Raleigh. Two dozen courts, walls, ball machines, bathrooms, locker rooms, etc… Everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable match, they got right here in Millbrook conveniently located in North Raleigh. Lights stay on until 10:30PM, so playing here on those hot summer nights is quite nice. There are also many programs available for all levels, everything from young children, to teens and adults.

Amazed how many courts there are tucked away back here. Friendly people also playing which is a nice change from other venues I’ve visited. Courts looked to be in good shape and we were able to reserve a court 3 hrs before planning to play at 5pm on a weekday. Highly recommended.

It is hard to beleive that this is a city run establishment. I have been a member of private tennis clubs and the millbrook tennis center has just as much to offer as my paid tmembers clubs . The club offers 23 hard surface courts with lights on each, available in the evening until 10:30pm. It offers a backboard to hit against, two ball machines at @ reasonalbe price. They have a conference room, locker rooms, and a covered obervation deck, plus a pro shop. The center gets busy during the evenings so if you absolutely need to reserve a court you can for a small fee The city has many programs for all ages so check with the city of raleigh website for further details. Overall I have lived in a number of cities thoughout North Carolina and the Millbrook Tennis Center is a cut above any city run complex. The game of tennis is thriving in raleigh and this facility is one reason why. By the way if you are looking for a match all you have to do is show up and normally for can find one. How cool is that. See you on the courts.
