I went there craving good Jamaica oxtails. I ordered oxtails Mac n cheese, cabbage and peas and rice. Please put more gravy on my rice. OMG it smelled and looked sooooo good! When I got home ready to tear in that plate.(which was $ 15) WHOA! It was tasteless overpriced and plain NONJAMAICAN!!! No seasoning just color… I WILLNEVERGOBACKHEREAGAIN! YULK! NEEEEEEVVVVVERRRRAAAAAGAAAIN! Oh and they weigh the plates wtf

I have to give Jerk Master 5 stars because they truly have the best Caribbean food that I’ve tasted in the Wake County area in the past 5 years. Their jerk chicken is just spicy enough, without being overwhelming. The jerk seasoning is very flavorful and tastes authentic as well. The chicken is also very tender and far from dry. I will say that I don’t necessarily like the idea of the barbecue sauce on top, but I suppose it helps even out the spicy flavor for some people. You must check this place out if you want REAL Caribbean food!

I was not impressed at all, rather disappointed to say the least. I ordered Jerk Chicken, rice & peas, and cabbage. The rice was bland, the cabbage was just ok, and the jerk chicken tasted like grilled chicken with«jerk» barbecue sauce poured on it, not cooked into the chicken. I am from New Jersey/New York where Jamaican restaurants come a dime a dozen. Those from the south whose only taste of this cuisine is here or other restaurants in the area don’t really have anything to compare Jamaican food to, but I do and this food just was not good. I’ve definitely had better!

First timer & in love. I’ll definitely be coming back here ever time I’m in NC. The curry chicken, cabbage and rice are awesome! We arrived 5 minutes before they close and they didn’t have everything available but like I said, I’m in love. I look forward to trying the Beef patties and everything else lol. To top it off, they were so nice!

I ordered the ox tails with rice and peas with cabbage. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly. The cashier was very friendly and the establishment was clean. I would recommend Jerk Masters to others looking for a taste of the Caribbean.

Very friendly take out spot. Good jerk chicken but disappointing that jerk seasoning is not baked/grilled into the chicken. Brown stew chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender. Plantains were excellent and rice and peas perfectly acceptable. Looking forward to the day they have escovitch fish on the menu and I will try the oxtail one on my next visit.

say what you want and what you will about the location(get a «to go» order); but the food is second to none! and you get more than enough of it! got both the jerk and curry chicken… and asked for white meat(breast) only…“no problem”. got enough to eat for three days! and every day was better. going again today!

I have been eating there for a year and they have the best food. I have lost weight eating there. Some days I get just cabbage plate with ox tale gravy. I also get the jerk chicken with just cabbage. All natural ingredients with no MSG. Good clean food great for bodybuilding.

GREATAMOUNTOFFOOD! I have this place a 4 because of the location. There isn’t seating and the place looks pretty dingy. However, it shows that they focus on the food more than the upkeep. We got the jerk chicken and curry chicken platters and were very satisfied! There were at least 4 huge pieces of chicken in each box and everything was filled to the top so much he could barely close the lid! I usually don’t like cabbage but it was done pretty well here. Jerk chicken was a bit dry but you can’t expect much from jerk chicken. The island punch he recommended was on point but the sweet potato pudding was a little too sweet for my taste. I was very sad they didn’t have banana pudding. Also, their prices there are cheaper than the prices shown online!

Great, fresh food! I would give it 5 stars if they weren’t always running out of something that I love from this spot. The customer service is as great as the food. If only they could keep up with demand! I love love LOVE the curried chicken and vegetables. The plantain is great too. They have authentic Jamaican drinks as well. If only they ha Oh and the price of oxtails has almost doubled from the listed price here. So, be prepared. They are worth every penny!

After moving to the triangle from South Florida, I know there is no comparison in terms of availability of Jamaican restaurants. Having said that, of the few I’ve been to so far, this would have to be the better of the evils. We ordered curried goat and oxtails and a side of Jerk Chicken. The goat, thank the Lord was not spicy and the oxtails, both were okay(have had much better). The Jerk Chicken was a fair attempt because at least it was done on a grill and not in the oven. I just would have preferred more flavor and less pepper. Overall, food was good BUT the location. … very SUSPECT! There’s no way I’d go there after dark.. definately in the hood.

I love their cabbage. It is so delicious and perfectly seasoned. I also really enjoy their plantains. I have also had their jerk chicken and curry chicken. Not a fan of the jerk but definitely pleased with the curry chicken. Their bean patties appear as if they are prepackaged frozen patties and just fried. They were ok. I probably would not get them again though. I really like this place and because my hubby works close by he brings me their cabbage. I just order a cabbage plate with plantains. The area is a bit to be desired. If I had to go alone to pickup, no bueno.

We get the carry-out wings ALL the time and they are excellent. Very meaty, very flavorful and as hot as you want them. I get mine much milder than my husband’s which would make me breathe fire for days… The jerk chicken is GREAT! We go back again and again.

Curry chicken was very mild, I like for my curry chicken to have a hint of spice. They got my order wrong that I called in so I ended up with double Mac-n-cheese that was bland. Probably won’t be going back.

My coworkers and I decided to stop in here for lunch today. We got there around 11:45, so everything was extremely fresh. This is a take-out restaurant, so there are no tables. The atmosphere reminds me of an island restaurant straight from Jamaica, complete with reggae music. The cooks all had Jamaican accents, so I think it’s safe to say that the food is authentic. I ordered the jerk chicken w/rice & peas, and cabbage medley. The rice & peas and cabbage were good. The jerk chicken had good flavor. The best piece was the leg. I thought the white meat was kind of dry, but the barbecue sauce for dipping helped. My coworker ordered the brown stew chicken which looked great. She said it was delicious. My other coworker ordered a beef patty and said it was delicious. So, I’m planning on trying some more entrees, and I’ll update my review.

I’m such a fan of their curry chicken. The rice is cooked perfectly and the curry is not too spicy. When you’re first pulling up you’ll probably have somewhat low expectations but it’s actually a great carryout place. Dont expect t to dine in because there aren’t any seats. The menu is limited but its a great place to get authentic Jamaican dishes.

Pros: 1. The service people were very nice. 2. Jerk chicken meat was very tender. 3. Liked the cabbage side. 4. They hand breaded the chicken wings and fried them. 5. Carrot cake was pretty good. Cons: 1. The jerk chicken sauce was VERY spicy. My date liked it, I did not. 2. Their oil must not have been hot enough– the plantains, french fries, and fried chicken were all cooked kind of «meh.» Not crispy, or very good. And fried plantains should be good. 3. Very small. Only one small table inside with two chairs. Date and I ended up sitting on the curb outside and eating. 4. They use styrofoam for EVERYTHING. grr… 5. Home made lemonade came in small container and was VERYSUGARY — overwhelmingly so. 6. Goat had bones in it, which the lady at the counter warned us about, but still– you can’t debone the goat, and instead we either have to use our hands, or tentatively chew around the bone??? 7. Sauce on the goat was not very good. 8. The rice side was not very moist. It wasn’t dry or anything– but it would have been moist it would have been very good with the gravy. Now– I don’t have a lot of experience with Jamaican food, but there’s two other places I plan on trying. I could see coming here on the rare occasion if I lived in the neighborhood, but seeing as how I don’t– I won’t likely visit again.
