I’ve had a lot of events at Hi5 and can’t say enough about the top-notch staff there. I can’t ever remember getting anything other than excellent service from anyone handling the event or just eating at a table. I’d feel comfortable recommending this place to anyone.

3.5 stars Like it’s mentioned on almost every review here, everything on the menu is 5 bucks. Can’t beat that and they often have drink specials too. The menu portions are kind of small so you might end up ordering two of something or they also have a deal where you can get one and a half for 8 bucks For instance a burger with a half side of steak fries. Lots of HDTV’S to watch sports and the service has generally been good when I have been there. I think other sports bars offer better food and choices such as Tobacco Road, but for a burger and fries with a draft beer while watching the game this is a good place.

For a sports bar — this place is #1. Food is cheap(everything on the menu is $ 5)…the food is OUTSTANDING(best steak fries EVER). We love watching football at Hi5. Wish they would open one in Cary — hint, hint!!!

Chicken Taco Salad Pretzel Crusted Crab Dip with pesto flatbread Came late Sunday night for a quick bite. I have been so intrigued by the $ 5 menu, I just had to kill the curiosity. Our waiter was nice, but the crowd was not so… two guys had stared us down while we were walking in and pretty much 5 minutes into us sitting down. The food was ok; my taco salad had all the ingredients as listed in the menu, but in meager portions. It kinda hurt, because I really like guacamole. The crab dip was decent, but after having the leftovers the next day, I realized how mushy, creamy, and rich it was. And it wasn’t a good realization. Meh for drunchies, but unfortunately, I wasn’t drunk. Their drink specials during the week seem like good deals, but don’t think I will come back for booze and subpar drunchies here…

The hidden sportsbar, Solid food for Five bucks. Was there today to watch The World Cup. We shared fries(oven roasted, and a bit overdone), Michael Dean’s Asian BBQ wings(tangy and tasty), Japanese Blackened wings(salty and sweet), BBQ chicken flatbread(good ingredients and a good crispy crust), lastly we had some crab rangoons. All that food-two Newcastle’s and three big boss bad penny’s for under 50.00 bucks.

If u want a cheap place to eat during the week and not the typical chain place give Hi-5 menu a spin! The menu is $ 5 bucks for everything(except drinks) My favs are the pizzas the Greek & Mushroom to be specfic! The quality of the ingridents and taste are great! I’m craving one now… Yumm-O I have tried other things like the Japense Black Wings, but they were a little too burnt on the outside to enjoy fully… but the variety, price, and pizzas keeps me coming back again and again… Be sure to call ahead to make sure there isn’t a cover charge. (Fri-Sat) have one even if you are just eating in the resturant/bar area.

Seeing as how I’m not into sports, I’m always a little wary of sports bars. However, I do know that sports bars usually do a few things right – mainly wings and beer, so I was game. Ha ha, get it? Game? Anyway, I have to admit I was a little slow in connecting the dots with the name«Hi5,» and everything on the food menu being $ 5. Once I realized that, I was super-pumped. I love a good deal. The décor seemed pretty slick, and there are individual TVs in every booth. I had the cheesy poofs(brie-filled pastry puffs with walnuts and a raspberry dipping sauce). These were quite tasty. For my entrée, I had a chicken pesto panini which was pretty good, but the bread seemed to disintegrate and crumble with each bite. I’m also a sucker for macaroni and cheese, so I ordered that as a «side.» It was a huge bowl that I split amongst my fellow diners. There was some sort of major basketball game playing, so there were the occasional bloody-murder screams coming from the bar area, but overall, it was not as crazy and loud as I thought it was going to be. Our server was friendly, and the service was fairly quick. I’d definitely go back.

Hi 5 is pretty cool. I like it because the food is cheap and they have lots of beer. And the location is good for me. I’ve never really been impressed with the service and it kinda has a chain feel to me(as do all the other rocky top restaurants IMO). But I still like it for happy hour or to watch a game or to drink some beers. However I don’t think I will ever go there at night.

Besides a quick pop-in to see the nightlife atmosphere on a random Saturday night, my only experience with Hi 5 was their hosting and catering a 65 person event that I was in charge of planning. Their staff was unbelievably receptive, hospitable and most importantly, understanding of our needs. For 22 dollars a person we had a smörgåsbord of food, from unbelievably tender and delicious eastern NCBBQ to flank steak and garlic rustet potatoes. I believe there were 6 – 7 main dishes to choose from and the portions were savory and filling. They were able to separate our group from the rest of the general assembly in a sequestered side room which allowed for us to intermingle AND have access to the general bar and restaurant floor if we needed it. Overall, the eatery was clean and spacious, and as a general note, they have an outstanding TV assortment. At it’s core, Hi 5 is a pretty kick-ass sports bar that doesn’t try to be anything but; however, it makes concessions and cleans up very well if you want it to.

Hi-5 is the story of two bars. Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and throughout the week, Hi-5 is a nice little sports café. However, on Friday and Saturday nights, they host a dance party and charge a cover. Fridays are G105’s «Club 105,» and both nights they draw a mainstream, slightly urban, crowd. That is not really my scene, but if it is yours, they always seem to have decent drink specials. I get the idea it is a great place for bachelorette and birthday parties. I will focus my review on the«other» bar, the sports restaurant. In fact, since Hi-5 is walking distance from my place, it is one of my favorite places to watch college football, NFL games and the Carolina Hurricanes. They have a great selection of large HDTVs, and you can also hand-pick your game of choice if you get one of the booths with an individual TV(those TVs are showing their age, and the picture quality for most of them are sub-par). There are also two separate rooms that can be reserved for large parties. Hi-5 has over 200 beers, and if you join the Beer Nerd Club and sample most of them, you get perks like a plaque on your own chair. In addition to their own Mash House beers(Mash House is the brewpub in Fayetteville that is owned and operated by the parent Rocky Top Hospitality company), they also have Guinness and recently added PBR on tap. The biggest selling point for Hi-5 is the fact that all the food on the menu is $ 5. The surprising thing is that the food is good. I love the Roast Beast, the Greek pizza and the steak nachos. I also shared their cookies and cream dessert with a friend today, and I have to admit, it knocked my socks off. Hi-5 also has some great drink specials, some of which they just changed up recently. On Sundays you can get a pitcher of their Mash House beers for $ 10. Mondays they have retro beer night, in which the retro menu(like PBR bottles, Bud Light, Genesee Cream Ale, MGD) are all discounted. On Tuesday, everything behind the bar is $ 4, which includes most call drinks and a few premium brands. Wednesday is their Beer Nerd night, when all of their bottled beers are $ 3, and on Thursdays they have started a bottomless PBR draft night. So to sum it up, Hi-5 is a great sports café for the game during the week and on most days. However, don’t cozy up to the bar on the weekend nights expecting to sit back and watch sports. If you are not a sports fan, and are looking for a place to dance to the music you hear on Top-40 radio, then the weekend nights might be what you are looking for.

I’m not a sports fan at all but I can tolerate this place because it’s got a nice atmosphere, a good beer selection(local beers, Dogfish Head, microbrews, etc.) and good food for $ 5/item — good not great, but significantly better than what you’d expect at a sports bar. It’s family friendly but not too loud. Every time I’ve been there I’ve gotten good and friendly service and usually see a manager making the rounds. Then again, I’ve never been there during a «big game.»

My husband and I LOVE this place. Everything is $ 5 so for a cheap fix, TGIF, Ruby, and Applebee’s(yuck) aren’t the only things you can stuff your face with. $ 5 for buffalo wings, big burgers, $ 3 beers; don’t get much better than that!

In the middle of the week, Hi5 is a pretty nice sports bar with some cheap eats(a $ 5 menu helps a lot), a good beer selection, and personalized TVs if your table can agree on which game to watch. The atmosphere is usually laid back on these nights, and everyone is more-or-less friendly(depending on how their team is doing). Then there’s the weekend. A crowded madhouse more than a sports bar on these nights, there’s a lot more attitude to go along with the drinking as somehow everyone seems to come onto the«dance floors» available with a chip on their shoulder more than a desire to cut a rug. Maybe that’s because the dancing spots are so small that any attempts at real movement will result in a collision with another patron. Eventually, one of these collisions is with an over-aggressive neanderthal and one thing leads to another. I’ve never been there on a weekend evening without at least seeing a shoving match if not something a little more violent. If that’s a selling point, go ahead. I’ll probably do my weekend dancing elsewhere.

My BF is originally from Raleigh and a huge Redskins fan, so whenever we head back down there, we have to stop by Hi 5 to watch the football games. On Sundays, the place is packed with football fans, but is still mellow and chill. The waitstaff is super friendly. Everything on the menu is 5 bucks — try the stuffed mushrooms, they’re SO good(and would probably cost 10 dollars in DC). The real draw, however, is the loooong beer list. They have everything from PBR(natch) to pitchers of local IPAs. Now I’m craving a Carolina IPA…

Not a huge fan, but a decent place to end of the night. Bogart, Red Room +Hi 5 I believe somehow they all link together. you can pay one cover charge and get in all of them. Hi 5 is a little bit hidden, downstairs. more dance place after certain hours. So go Bogart to eat, Red Room to drink, Hi 5 to dance

Hi5 is a bar on Glenwood South located right behind the Red Room and below Bogart’s. The bar has a fairly substantial beer selection, and(the best part in my opinion) a $ 5 food menu. The $ 5 food items are things like pizza and hamburgers that at most other bars would cost considerably more money. They have a huge back room that can be used for large groups, and television at every table in the dining room for viewing the sporting event of your choice up close and personal.

I was very impressed with this place. In addition to having an extensive beer selection, they have some unique and entertaining selections on the menu. Even though as a vegetarian I was hard pressed to find anything on the menu, I still enjoyed myself. I ended up having a Greek Salad and some stuffed mushrooms from the appetizer menu. The cool thing about this restaurant is the price– they’ve got a special menu where everything is five dollars(hence the whole«Hi 5» thing). It was the beer selection that really knocked me out though; I don’t know any place(short of the Flying Saucer) in Raleigh where you can even find some of these beers. Despite the lack of meatless food, I’m definitely coming back to this place if only to knock back some cold ones. Hi 5 is definitely a unique and fun take on the whole bar & grill concept, and they’ve really made their version of it work.

Good memories. Most of the time came here on a fri/sat night and it gets packed! Then there used to be this acustic guitar dude that would always finish his set with tenacious d «f@ck you gently» and he would get the whole bar going. hahaha!

Hmm, reading the other reviews for Hi 5 makes me wonder if I’m going to a different bar! I’ve stopped by at least 5 or 6 times and it’s normally a mellow scene. Flat screen panels playing ESPN or whatever game is on that night, cute waitresses wearing knee-hi’s and the typical Glenwood South crowd. Yeah, they do play hip-hop at times and clear tables for some dancing but I’ve never seen too much craziness at the Hi 5, yet… What the place is really good for is getting a bunch of people together after work and knocking down some drinks and appetizers. They’ve got a LONG menu of appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, wings and pizzas for $ 5 each. And we’re not talking small plates, everything is adult-sized and better than your typical bar food. Rock shrimp poppers, grilled Asian wings, meatloaf sandwich wrapped in bacon, homemade potato chips with garlic dipping sauce, all at $ 5. And a huge list of beers with great service. You really can’t go wrong at Hi 5 for food or drinking so stop on by…
