During Ice Storm Blizzard 2016, I welcomed a friend without power and internet into my power and internet filled home. We decided to make the perilous trek down Hillsborough Street in an attempt to forage for food. Gumby’s welcomed all frozen travelers. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and cinnamon sticks. The food took some time to cook, as should be expected. Not every place is Little Caesar’s hot and ready to go pizza. After our food was ready, we made the perilous trek home, in hopes that the pizza will not freeze with us. Both the pizza and the cinnamon sticks were undercooked. The taste of raw dough is not nearly as appealing as you’d think. I’m sure Gumby’s has all types of drunken morons who heckle them to cook their pizza faster, but that doesn’t mean they should start undercooking things. Gumby’s falls below the already-low expectations of Hillsborough Street restaurants. Pick Little Caesar’s over this garbage dump every time.

If you’re looking for cheap, filling pizza and snacks, it’s a great choice and more like 4 or 5 stars! If you’re close enough to pick up, I recommend it. Delivery can take a while. Keep an eye on daily specials… Keeps it even cheaper! If you’re expecting gourmet or really delicious pizza, this is closer to 1 or 2 stars, steer clear!

The Pizza is great. If you are picking it up, then this is 4 or 5 stars. If you are hoping for delivery, then 2 at best. I live, literally, on the wrong side of the street from where they quit delivering. I am FEET from where they would deliver a pizza otherwise. They wont deliver it. They have in the past, but apparently it depends on the manager. Tonight is a 1 or 2 star night. Tomorrow… who knows.

It’s decent pizza for the price. Nothing too special, but if you are starving and need cheap food this might help you out. They do have order up capabilities which is nice, because they do deliver to D.H. Hill library and other locations on the NCSU campus.

Just ordered a $ 2 pizza through EatStreet. I ordered it about 25 minutes before I got there and paid inside. I then waited for about 40 minutes for the pizza while many people who came in after me got their orders. They gave me my money back without me even asking and then gave me my order after realizing it had been in the wrong place. While I waited for an extremely long time, they did not have to refund my money and I appreciate that they did. My free pizza made a really crappy day much better, so thanks for that!

This is a review for a walk-in & order. I haven’t been to Gumby’s since it was on Hillsborough street nearest cup a joe & blue flame tattoo so it’s been YEARS! Cleaner and brighter location, semi-gruff Employees, but not at all rude. We ordered a medium pepperoni pizza, $ 10 later and about 15 minutes; it was ready. Drove off and grabbed a few bottles of Pepsi and found a cute spot to sit and eat. Very greasy and slightly different tasting sauce than I remembered when I was a teenager. I was a little disappointed in the general flavor, but it’s solid college kid food and it satisfied my hunger pains. It’s not bad. It’s not great, it’s just eh.

I am usually very tolerant of places messing up an order or taking a little extra time to deliver. However this place managed to mess the last 3 orders up so badly that have waited an EXTRA6 hours(cumulatively) because of their sheer incompetence. When people give one star reviews, I usually tell them to chill out, but seriously, I’m not the only one and I’m not crazy. This is unacceptable. I will now actually listen to other Unilocal reviewers(everyone says the same thing about this place). Lesson learned

Worst customer service I have EVER seen at a restaurant at the hillsborough location. Their«daily deals» apparently are not honored on the exact day that they are offered. Why make a daily deal if you will not honor it when it is requested? I asked nicely for the 50 cent pepperoni rolls which are offered on Wednesday, on a Wednesday and they said that they would actually have to make them themselves so it would be full price. Isn’t that what the employees are paid for? Then she told me if I had a problem, to deal with it and get over it… I left in disbelief and called back to ask for the customer service number or a higher authority and she hung up on me immediately. I honestly could not believe how rude and disrespectful she was to a customer requesting to order a daily deal on the EXACT day it is offered. I asked politely and never had an attitude with the employee. I was literally in disbelief by the way she treated me. I will never go back to that location and will absolutely not recommend it to anyone I know because of the way that employee treated me

I get it, Saturdays are busy. But a delivery should never be an hour and a half late… and cold.

HORRIBLE and I mean HORRIBLE customer service. The first time I ordered they kept saying they were on their way. 2 hours later they said«sorry our delivery guy bailed» and that they were closed. Tried again last night, and the RUDE man that delivered greeted me with«next time your food doesn’t show up, it’s probably because you’re out of delivery range, which you are». Why wouldn’t they just say that when I was placing the order with the manager? NEVER going back to this place

I didn’t think I’d ever get enough grease in my system after the gumby’s in chapel hill closed down. After discovering that there’s a gumby’s only ~3 minutes away from Meredith and NC State, I HAD to come for their pokey stix! Their pokey sticks have never failed me– greasy/cheesy/chewy goodness in every bite, guaranteed! They have daily specials so take advantage of it! (Tuesday’s special is my personal favorite– 4.99 for a LARGE box of pokey stix hehe) Obviously you wouldn’t want to come here if you’re trying to be healthy, but this place is the perfect place to go for a hearty late-night snack! You might feel guilty afterwards, but hey, just live a little~ I know that gumby’s delivery is pretty bad(based on word of mouth and from firsthand experience back when I was devoted to the one in chapel hill) so I did pick up. We ordered ahead and didn’t have any issue getting what we wanted; everything was ready by the time we got there! The cashiers aren’t the friendliest, but you won’t have to really interact with them much so no worries. There are few indoor and outdoor seats available but the air is pretty hot and sticky inside. Instead, I highly recommend just getting your food and hurrying home to indulge in your food~

Only reason we tried this place was because we had a certificate/discount and it was sort of close to our hotel. Our pie was pretty good. Maybe it’s because we were starving, who knows, but it hit the spot. We may be back if we’re in the area. Hubby did remark that the employees looked like lost Williamsburg-esque hipsters with a ‘tude haha.

4 seriously I’m sure your thinking? Alright, alright. it was late-night when shortly after my sushi trip my date took me here. Plus another factor could be my date seemed to have befriended the staff. Is it the best and is it the worst? no. However I did find out that they stay open till 4am. That I thought was awesome. I personally dislike coupons in any, way, shape, or form(call it curse from my cashier days). So could even be chalked upto that. But the crust was, blah I’d rather go to bricks or Rosati’s for pizza. But when its late night and your driving by, why not? I’m going to give it a 4 for being open late and I noticed it was fairly packed at the same time so wasnt all that bad.

The worst pizza experience I have ever had. Keep in mind that I have worked in the service industry before and respect anyone who is currently holding any position in this field. However, my tolerance for terrible service was seriously tested with this institution. When we ordered ONE pizza with half cheese and half spinach, we were promised that it would arrive in 45 minutes. An hour and a half later, we received a cold pizza that had BLACK spinach on it. Knowing that this was unacceptable, I called Gumby’s to complain. The female manager here was condescending, patronizing, confrontational and rude. Behavior like hers is completely unacceptable in general, but especially in a job market/economy like this when most people would be more than willing to treat PAYING customers with respect. I would never write a review like this normally, but the manager here was so rude that she struck a nerve with me. I will be reporting this business’ horrible practices to the BBB, Facebook, and Twitter-verse.

Gumby’s Pizza… built for the college student. Cheap pizza, a late closing time, and delivery right to the dorm make this one of the most popular pizza places on campus. From my experience it is THE cheapest pizza on campus… in more ways than one. My first Gumby’s experience was one that many students have never had… ordering and eating inside of the restaurant. Upon entering we were greeted by a young woman who was clearly irritated, and obviously not enthusiastic about her position there at Gumby’s. After being treated rather rudely during the ordering process, I became very critical about the rest of my visit. Moving over to find a seat, we found that only one table was occupied, yet every other table was filthy, covered with everything from napkins and cups, to dried and crusty sauce and cheese, with no employee in sight. After cleaning our own table we sat down, and the food came in relatively timely fashion. Here’s the deal with Gumby’s pizza. They do an excellent job of preying on college students who simply want just some type of food, but don’t want to spend much money.($ 4XL cheese pizza???) They put really no effort into impressing the critic — no matter what people say about them or their food, students are going to keep coming. So my final word is this. Gumby’s is not the place to go for good pizza. It’s not the place to take your family while you’re traveling through town. It’s sole function is to provide students with cheap food, and no matter how tasteless and greasy the pizza is, it will always have the corner on the market for NC State students.
