This was my first time trying Crazy Fire. I will say that I was not impressed. When we walked in we saw staff huddled up talking to customers so we ended up waiting about 5 minutes to be seated. Once seated we waited another 5 minutes for our waitress to finish chit chatting with the group of customers. The bar was not cleaned to my liking and I understand that it was close to closing time but because I have food allergies I have to pay attention to this things because of cross contamination. The serving tongs were sticky and some were even turned the wrong way in the particular food item. The food was okay nothing special in my opinion. I gave them 2 stars because the waitress was very good!

I have not been here in years. Crazy Fire was really cool in its heyday. Now it’s just one of those places you go to for something a little different. The chairs and tables are showing their age but the food always looks fresh. We are not talking high-quality top-notch meats here. However this is a far better choice then mcDonalds or any other fast food swill. I come here with no expectations. The waitress is polite she’s clean she takes my order I get my food is delicious I eat it and I leave all for less than $ 10. I consider this a win!

There must be new management, because this place is a far cry from what it used to be. I used to love this restaurant. It was probably my favorite place to eat. But unfortunately, I have watched this place go downhill in the past year. Within the last year they: — stopped paying for cable and turned off their TVs. Now there are a half dozen screens that are always off — undercooked my chicken — started charging for takeout(it used to be free) — doubled the price of takeout(remember, it used to be free) — told me they were incapable of accepting fully valid coupons, which cost me a good chunk of money This place used to be amazing. And now it is terrible. The servers are inattentive and rude. Their new policies are ridiculous, and are not listed anywhere, so don’t be surprised to see the price of your bill go up unexpectedly. Greedy management. Everything is an attempt to nickel and dime you. Go to the one in Burlington and you’ll have the best meal of your life. This one, sadly, is nothing more than a ripoff and a disgrace to the Crazy Fire name. And I won’t be going back.

I liked the different style of dining experience. It’s a visual treat to see your choice of food items getting cooked on the grill. I will recommend to seek help in getting the right amount of spices, if you are a first timer to this place. You will have to choose all the ingredients. Ultimately, u can’t blame the chef for poor taste. :D

How much food you get depends on how well you can stack that bowl: D The first time we went there, my husband wanted to go for the unlimited option but he was full after the first one. Thanks to a guest, who inspired us to fill up the bowl unless things start falling off ;) Except for one server, we have had a nice experience, especially with the guy at the grill. The place is never over-crowded, which makes the experience better. Not as good as Mongolian BBQ but a decent alternative. We visit often because the food is so good.

There are not many options for Mongolian grills in the Triangle. I have been to several throughout the United States, and this was not the best I have ever been to. But it was a good solid effort and the best Raleigh has right now. The fruit and salad bar is extremely meager(good thing it is free). I was very pleasantly surprised by the gyro meat, as well as a good meat selection in general. There are also plenty of sauces. The vegetable selection is not extensive, but adequate. Nice, prompt service. Family friendly. I will be back.

Its a Mongolian style barbecue place where you select the ingredients and the chefs cook it on a HUGE wok right in front of you. From a buffet style table you take a pick of vegetables, meats, sauces, oils and other condiments in one or two bowls. Oils and sauces are the crucial part since if you don’t put enough or add more than required then your whole meal will be dry or bland or even over spicy. You can’t even blame the chef since no one has any role in how your food turned out. So its upto you if the place earns 1 star or 5. I have been lucky my food have always come out great. Give it a go if you know the ingredients and overall its an interesting experience specially for first timers.

Good food but if you dine in be prepared to sweat. It’s hot as hell in there! New owners took over and they are cutting back. Now if you have more than one bowl you can’t take your leftovers unless you pay extra. And did I mention it’s HOT in there!

I lunch at this restaurant a couple of times a month. They have recently changed their policy and customers now have to buy a takeout box for leftovers — $ 5. If you know how to pack your bowls and choose your sauces then you get plenty to eat and its not bad. Staffing levels are minimal so you better get what you need from the wait staff up front because they are both frantically busy and tough to get hold of. Its summer and the owners have elected to turn off the air in favor of fans. Overall good but not great — worth a visit.

Against my better judgement I chose this eatery tonight for my dining experience. Let me start by saying that there is a reason I enjoy eating out and that’s because it allows me the opportunity to look at a menu, point, and then allow the chef to know what needs to go into the dish and make it. Allowing me the«opportunity» to select my own ingredients/sauces/etc and expect it to turn into something decent is a crapshoot at best. I have to say that tonight, I did ok — but still I’m sure someone more knowledgeable in what needs to go into a dish such as Mongolian Beef, might have prepared something a little more close to what I attempted to achieve. With that in mind, would it hurt the restaurant at all to put out some recipe cards to provide some direction? I think not. So with all of that out of the way, it’s hard to give place a rating based on food quality. I mean if it turned out tasting like a toxic waste dump — am I not technically the one to blame? Alas — the rating is more based on the overall feeling I had after eating here First — for a price of $ 10 you are allowed to stuff as much ingredients you can into a single bowl. Two bowls? $ 13. 3 or more $ 15. Sounds like a great deal until you walk up to the buffet and realize that the bowl size are the tiny little cafeteria bowls they use to serve you a desert in. Hardly a bowl. You also get unlimited trips to the salad bar which consisted of iceberg lettuce, fake bacon bits and a few other odds and ends plus your choice of dressing. While the trips may be unlimited, you might just not care to go back up after the first trip So onto the stir fry buffet. Certainly a good selection of the usual veggie and meat items, however, from a sanitary standpoint I was a bit put off as several of the tongs(cheap little plastic ones) had raw meat on them. Made you afraid to grab them. Ok so got my veggies, got my meat(along with several strains of bacteria) now to choose a sauce. Which one to choose — hell if I know. So I pick one scoop out 3 or 4 ladles and move on down to the fry area where I’m greeted by a very unenthusiastic cook who takes my bowl and hands me a number which resembles something you would find on the side of a house. Beautiful Back to the table to enjoy my lettuce and ask the waitress if I can order an egg roll. Nope — all out. Perfect. Maybe I can find a select your own cake ingredients bakery so I can have a slice of cake for desert Definite Pass on this one

This is a new location for me, since I used to frequent the one around Leesville Towne Centre(I just had to look that up, why why WHY do they have to spell it like that? It doesn’t make it fancier). The raw ingredients were fresh and well stocked, the sauces are always delicious, and the waitress was an absolute pleasure to be around and treated us well. I suppose you could rate this place 1 star, but it just seems like your own fault if you do, you made a bad plate ;)

There is an art to packing. This is a place where you become the genius in the kitchen. Yet, here, you don’t have to have to be the cook. You get to be the creator without the labor of the cooking. The ambiance is dimly lit with a lean towards oriental design. They have started to reach out to locals with the great walls campaign which lets you write on all of the black designated walls. This is not been changed and some time so now its getting cluttered. Plenty of space for large parties in the wall in cater to showing movies is well in a larger banquet area. The have for tvs in a large screen projection the back. plenty of space for large parties in the wall in cater to showing movies is well in a larger banquet area. The have for tvs and a large screen projection the back. The food can be amazingly delicious or completely horrible, it depends on how do you make it. With over 10 vegetables and near eight meat selections, there is something for every one. When its not busy it’s a dream as you select your own personalized meal and create your own personal masterpiece. When it is busy though the line can get quite backed up and you do need to stand in line for a while. There is also the pressure of getting through the line so others behind you can get their masterpiece completed. They have a horde card membership which games you. As you go there more frequently. Every 100 gets you $ 10 off. And everytime you go there you get about 5 percent off each meal. I have cashed in four or five times. So yes, I’ve spent near five to six hundred dollars at this place. You could say I’m a fan. I do have my own recipe there and much of the staff knows me at this point. I really do enjoy myself there and will continue to go here often. The reason why I did not list this with 5 stars is because as of late there is been a high turnaround in staff. There doesn’t seem to be a singular vision for the restaurant. The offers and price changes are so frequent that it feels likr each time I visited it is been something different. Some of the menus and promotional signs are all very worn and tattered. It’s the little things that matter. I have noticed that they started putting what seems to be candles at each table to help add ambiance. If they continue to try to improve the little things I’m sure it will make a large impact. I just couldn’t force myself to give it 5 stars when I can see so much room for improvement. Although it is more of a buffet feel to it you definitely need still need to tip those service girls because they work very hard. Bring your friends and all of your creative party to enjoy yourselves. Is not necessarily a romantic place but a place to eat with someone who you don’t mind watching them gorge themselves on a three bowl high single packed bowl of food. Well, that’s the company I keep when I go. I keep it real.

Again, I wish there were a three-and-a-half stars. Place was good. Not great, but good enough to go back to. The concept is simple — you fill a bowl with vegetables, choice of meat, and oil/sauce. You take it over to the grill and they cook it for you on the spot and serve with a side of rice. It’s up to you to be as creative as you like. I only got one bowl, though there are options to pay for two or unlimited(two is probably plenty). The food was not bad for the price. Service was friendly and speedy, and apparently they do movie nights. It’s nothing gourmet or fancy, but for a quick meal at a decent price, it’s worth a try.

Big bummer. Food was good but because the cook put the food on the wrong color plate(charged according to the color) we were incorrectly charged. When brought to the manager’s(Eric) attention, he refused to adjust and put the blame on the customer which was ridiculous. The $ was inconsequential but their policy of putting the blame on the customer is just plain unbusiness like! As a result, can’t recommend eating there until they redo their business practices.

I love this place. My family and I went there for years. It was the place we went to for special occasions, and maybe even just a lunch some time. In fact, it’s our favorite Mongolian grill in the Triangle area. Unfortunately, we haven’t been getting any coupons for this location in the Horde newsletter for over a year, and we live too far away(Fuquay) to receive any mailers or visit NC State campus for coupons. As a result, we haven’t been to Crazy Fire since the coupons stopped arriving in our email inbox. Couple that with the rising prices that Eric mentioned, and it may be a loooong while, if at all, before this family of 5($ 15 * 5 = $ 75 before tips and taxes) visits Crazy Fire again.

I have been to the Leesville Rd location of this restaurant and couldn’t imagine why my friends would want to go to this restaurant. For under $ 10 we ate lunch and had a salad. There was so much food that I didn’t not even use the free appetizer for checking in. There was a lot of variety to choose from, plus fresh fruit included on the salad bar.

What a disappointment. I am new to the area and came here with high expectations, since the Mongolian BBQ I am accustomed to in Ohio is always superb. The grill did not appear to be regularly cleaned and the grillers seemed very sad the whole time they were grilling. The sauces had very little favor and my food was bland and unappetizing. I am normally easily pleased but this was just not a satisfying meal and certainly not the atmosphere I was expecting.

We have been eating here for years and have enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Today we show up and they have raised prices by several dollars(from 10 – 11 to 15) and have made it only one trip to the buffet. If you want more than one plate or more than one trip it will cost you more. The staff is still friendly but the price increase seems unnecessary. One of the big draws of a buffet is going back several times to try different items or sauces. Instead everyone is trying to see how high they can stack one bowl so they don’t get charged more. Maybe if the price was only slightly higher than before it wouldn’t be a big deal but this seems silly :(
