Best thrift store in Raleigh and supports animals! They have pets up for adoption which they take care of the spay/neuter and only an $ 80 adoption fee. Clean place, friendly staff with an excellent selection of everything from records to wedding dresses. Don’t buy new when you can pay a fraction for gently used.

There aren’t many reviews for this place, or recent reviews for that matter. But man, this is a great little gem in an unsuspecting place. It’s in a little shopping center behind Bank of America, and normally I pass by it everyday I go to class. Never before had I noticed it though till I took it upon myself to begin thrifting. This store is huge and has a ton of sections to look through. About half the store is clothing, ¼ furniture(mostly desks), and ¼ home décor and uncategorized knick knacks. They have special deals every so often and rotate their stock pretty frequently, so you’ll always find something new. The sheer size alone will keep you occupied for a couple hours if you rummage through every clothing rack. You’re bound to find something. As for myself, my friend and I found a bunch of blazers for insanely low prices. I got three blazers(all of which I love for their uniqueness and quality, and hey, they fit pretty well!) for $ 3 each. That’s less than $ 10 for all of them. I also found a couple of other items that will be really great statement pieces in my wardrobe. This was with us only looking through a few racks. I can’t even imagine all the other stuff I would’ve found if I’d gone through the store extensively. My next trip, I’ll be looking for some new sweaters and jackets for fall/winter. While there, a couple of cats were up for adoption. Awesome thrifting deals and cute animals, can’t get better than that. I also like knowing that the money is also going to a good cause since I love animals so much. I’ll definitely be returning in the future, and I’ll be visiting the other location downtown soon!

This is a great store for me to visit, because the American Way store across the street recently closed. I visited this store yesterday and discovered that it is now organized! The shoes are lined up by color and style, and the dresses and pants are all neatly hung in accessible areas. Finally!- thank you! Cause For Paws has two large areas, one is full of electronics, books, furniture(overpriced) and home wares and the other consists of clothing and accessories. The store smells a bit dusty and sometimes the customers are a bit… curious, but the staff is both kind and helpful. There are two changing rooms and you must ask an employee for the key. My mother even found a rare find: a Gucci bag! Yesterday I scored a cardigan and a skirt! Take your time and look through everything and perhaps you’ll find a jewel? Don’t be annoyed by the store’s drab exterior and interior… take a look! It’s also worth mentioning that a portion of their proceeds benefits pets in Raleigh!

Cause for Paws seems to have absorbed American Way’s former furniture glory. This is by far the best thrift store for furniture and household stuff that I’ve been to. The only downside is that they really know the value of the furniture they sell, so a lot of the good stuff can be really expensive. In addition to great furniture and kitchen stuff, they have a lot of crazy random stuff. There are always a few electric organs, reinforced crates for lighting and stage equipment, and lots of weird custom tables and shelves. One time I even saw a vintage freestanding victrola… I really wanted it, but I was about to move and it cost $ 600. It just wasn’t meant to be. There is another location on South Saunders St, and one in Zebulon as well, but the North Raleigh location is the best for everyday stuff.
