So I wrote a review a few months ago and was less than pleased. After speaking with the owner and receiving gift cards, I figured I should check it out again, because I know we all can have an off day. The service was much better this time, we had a manager serve us, very pleasant and friendly. Ordered the daybreaker burger with guacamole, mid rare, and onion rings. After 15 minutes, I had a feeling the burger was not going to be cooked to order. It came out with no guacamole, which i mentioned, and it was taken back and brought back with guacamole. At first bite, I knew it was not mid rare, but closer to mid well. The onion rings were crisp and seasoned, burger had a nice runny yolk, but still have not been impressed either time have gone. Manager was very apologetic and did comp the burger, but not sure if it’s worth visiting agaon.

I hate this place. The food is terrible. The atmosphere is boring. The waitstaff ignores you. The drinks are watery. The TVs are showing QVC. Everything I said is a lie and l will be back next week.

Nice restaurant in the heart of The Bedford and Falls River community in North Raleigh. We had the calamari which was spot on. The dipping sauces were a little different but they were very tasty. My wife had the seared tuna, and I had the stuffed salmon with the crab cake. Both were delicious. The kids had the pizza which looked really good. The entrée prices are reasonable and they offer daily specials. We will definitely be going back.

Went here for the first time and was hoping for a bit more. For the money I expected it to be a bit better, but not bad. Nachos were great. Steak was not worth the price paid. May be more appropriately priced around $ 10. Drinks and desert were good. Will likely go back.

When the Bistro first opened I was not really impressed with the food or the service. It was definitely not up to DeMarco’s levels, the previous restaurant in the space, but I am glad to say my wife went back recently and we have been going back since. The Bistro has stepped it’s game up in both its service and quality of the food in my fat boy opinion. The menu is expanded and from the things we have tried we are pleased with everything that we have ordered. Nice to have a place in the neighborhood to get a good meal at a good price.

We ran across Bedford a few months back and decided to have dinner one night here, and have been a number of times since. The restaurant is split in two, one side a bar area and the other side more traditional dining. With the atmosphere, we were expecting standard pub fare at first, but everything we have had to eat here has been exceptional. Some great, high end options on the menu as well as good burgers and sandwiches. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our food at Bedford Bistro! The salmon was delicious! My husband tried the special chicken carbonara! He loved it! The appetizer chicken quesadillas were huge! They give you free breadsticks with two dipping sauces! Very good service! Very good food! We have also tried the steak special on Tuesdays and it was very good and a great price! It’s a 2 for special!

I have dined in a few times, then I recently found out they deliver! So awesome to have an actual restaurant that uses fresh ingredients deliver right your house. That makes this tired Mom happy. We ordered delivery last time and got hot wings and pizza. We received a coupon in the mail for buy one specialty pizza and get a second two topping for free. What a great deal for such quality food. The wings were big, juicy, and saucy. By far the best wings We’ve had since we moved here. We love wings. The pizza was equally delicious. We ordered a medium South of the Border pizza and for our free one half cheese half sausage and mushroom. The south of the border consist of jalapeños, cheddar, mozzarella, chicken, chipotle seasonings, bbq sauce. Yum! Perfect balance with the sweet bbq and spice from the jalapeños and chipotle seasoning. Overall a great addition to the neighborhood. They have live music, trivia, and kids nights too. Check out the schedule on their website.

Service: Never a good sign to walk in to no hostess and no one to greet you. Especially when there is a wall dividing the front door from the bar and kitchen. Waiter walked by and said they’d get someone. Took a min or two, but we got our table. Waiter was good, water topped off, explained the menu, and answered questions. Food: Table bread was good. The red sauce was a bit different than usual maybe olives. The honey mustard was really good. Salad was good, had the honey mustard dressing again. We had the South of the Border pizza, I thought the sweetness of the BBQ on the chicken and the jalapeño were great. It satisfied the pizza craving. Atmosphere: They have a nice bar and possibly an outdoor patio. However, the hostess offered neither and just sat us in their 3rd dining area. It had bright walls, bright tables, and bright lighting. It looked like the dining area in a roller rink. We were the only ones in the area. If we eat food from here again, we’ll deliver, get take out or ask to sit at the bar.

A few weeks ago on a Sunday night, exhausted after an emotional weekend, we were in need of a good meal and a stiff drink, so we checked out this place. There is a dining room, a bar, and seating in the bar area as well. We opted for the two barstools on the end closest to the door, but quickly moved to the other side of the bar after the door stayed open letting hot air in too many times for us. Pleasant bartender gal. Food excellent! I had the Crab cakes with mashed taters and sauteed greens. Very yummy, and lots of crab. There were also a few pieces of fried angel hair that didn’t add anything other than cool looks, but it was a very tasty dish, and I got two meals out of it. Husband enjoyed his Stallion sandwich as well, which involved shaved smoked ham, proscuitto, pepperoni, salami, banana peppers, Italian Dressing and melted provolone. He enjoyed the fries also. Really love the variety on the menu… many things we’d like to try in the future. I will say that the place in general feels like a work in progress. Like they are still figuring it out. And that’s okay. Staff seemed more concentrated on computer issues and other practicalities, rather than wondering if we needed anything. But were always responsive when we initiated asking for what we needed. Will also say that personally, we prefer a bar area that is for adults only. Especially when there is a whole other dining room. There were a lot of children around the bar. But this is a neighborhood place, and it should be what the neighbors want.

We love this place. On Tuesdays they have a magician who even prompted my 13 year old to say«NOWAY» several times with his amazing slight-of-hand tricks. The outdoor games on the patio are just such a great idea — we meet friends for dinner, and the kids can go out and play life-sized Jenga or corn hole or ping pong while the adults enjoy a glass of wine and catch up. It’s like having a gathering at home except you don’t have to do the cooking or the cleanup. ;) I ordered the Seared Tuna Sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries(tip — they’re not on the menu, but ASKFORTHEM, they are wonderful). I will upload a photo. It was absolutely delicious — I’m typically a small eater but I cleaned my plate. A family-friendly restaurant with an interesting menu for those of us who don’t just want pizza and burgers(though they have those too, and my kids gave RAVE reviews) — this place will be a weekly break for me from the kitchen!!!

I can’t understand for the life of me why this place was so busy. Rude wait staff, cold greasy food, beer wasn’t even cold. And then there was the womens bathroom. I’ve not seen anything so unsanitary. Not surprising one bit that I was ill for 24 hours after my brief visit.

I find the previous two reviews unfounded. I moved to this area a few months ago and discovered this Bistro(both under it’s new and former owners). I’ve always had a great meal, and good service, whether you’re sitting at the bar or at a dining table. And YES, I eat at Bedford Bistro and Bar once or twice a week! Having lived in Italy for several years, I would rate their Italian entrée selections to be a 4.5 out of 5 stars. The American food items would rate a 4. Many great selections and that doesn’t even include their appetizers! Two noteworthy employees who remained during the changeover in owners, Josh and Jennifer are incredibly helpful in picking out either a wine or meal choice, as well as their excellent service. Both new owners(a husband and wife team: Kim and Dave) take a strong interest in the establishment and listen to the customer critiques; you will see one of them almost every night. All of the employees have been extremely friendly in my opinion, and I can be pretty picky at times. I’ve never tried their take-out service, but it likely mirrors the food you eat when on the premise; you can’t go wrong. One note about the JJ B. comment from 12/31/2014: They tried to have their kids eat for free(which occurs on Tuesdays) but in order to do that, one must order an entrée(the adult) in order for the child/children to eat free; you can’t just order a drink or appetizer and then expect to have your kids eat free; it’s not a scam. I recently had my former out-of-town boss and his wife(who I worked for in Italy) for dinner at Bedford Bistro and Bar; both of them enjoyed their meals tremendously and complimented one owner when Kim came by the table to ask how everything was. Considering how packed the place can be on several nights of the week, I would encourage people to try the place before you pass judgement with just one negative review.
