I never played RPGs until the store clerk talked me into coming for one of their Halloween Events. I had a great time! And so it began. :P Place is small and grungy — the stock never seems to change. But it has a real family atmosphere — the owner of the store truly cares about everyone who walks in there and stays to play. They have a gaming council. They welcome new players into their midst. It’s next to Radford University, close to Va. Tech, so it seems like there are three types of gamers — the older locals who started playing as teenagers, and still live in the back room. :) The college kids who play hard and get out when they graduate, and it was nice to see a whole bunch of fathers and kids in there playing Axis and Alllies.(For some reason, it /is/the fathers and not the mothers. Come on, Ladies! Kick those Nazi asses off the board~) And, while I said the stock rarely changes, that’s likely because Amazon is so much cheaper than your friendly local gaming store. Bob The Owner(a dwarf with giantism) will special order anything you want, and I think it’s worth it to do that. Look through the catalogs, and place your order. Small comic selection, but again — you can special order any comic you want. Sign up sheets on the walls for the local games you can play in the back of the store. Small monthly fee to join the Gaming Council, which essentially is paying for the power/water usage. I highly recommend Game Quest~
