This is a classic Greek family kind of restaurant, so the menu offers a huge variety of reasonably priced items. I used to like going to one of these kinds of places in the Milwaukee area. Yes, they’re popular with the retired set; nothing wrong with that. I thought I would try the spinach pie. Honestly, it was way too buttery for my taste. I might have done better to stick to a sandwich, but spinach pie is Greek, right? I wanted to like it, but my favorite item at lunch ended up being the cellophane-wrapped bread stick. It would have been a good value, but if you don’t really enjoy your lunch that much, what’s the value? With tip and a cup of coffee it’s still a $ 10 lunch.

This restaurant is tucked away so that it is easily missed. We came in for lunch; I ordered a burger, my wife ordered a breakfast. The meals were generally, good. I had raw onion on my burger and it was a bit tough. The lettuce, tomato were good as was the pickle. The onion rings I ordered weren’t anything special, but I had no taste for fries. At least they were hot, not greasy and not overly crispy as one occasionally gets win the rings are fried for too long a time. Service was friendly; the place looked clean. We came just after the time one would expect for a lunch rush so it wasn’t very busy. I would come back.

My family and I used to come here every Sunday after church. I remember getting a chocolate milk shake every time. Those are still my favorite!

Do NOT eat the fried foods. I don’t think they change their oil very often. Minimum of every 10,000 miles :-) Othe menu items are very average. Prices are good and has a steady stream of customers all over the age of 70.

This place is a family-style restaurant with a large menu for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Sandwiches, burgers, fish(fried & grilled), stir fry, pancakes, and a lot of stuff. The food doesn’t win awards, but its good overall. The place, however, delivers on value! You’re hard pressed to find something on the menu over $ 10(burgers for $ 6, kids menu under $ 4), and most items come with soup/salad and a dessert. For what you pay, this place is good. Ambiance inside is clean and nice, if a little dated; the outside leaves a little to be desired, but don’t let that scare you. The staff were friendly and quick to help or explain the menu. If you’re thinking about going here for a meal, give it a shot. You may like it. If you don’t, it won’t break the bank and you gave a local place a chance.

This place is a little scary from the street but venturing inside is well worth it. The décor has the quirky charm you’d expect of a ma and pa place in the U.P.(a relatively remote fishing/snow-mobile type of town to you non natives). You have to see it to fully appreciate it. They even have a gift shop! Well, a glass case containing knick knacks with hand written prices anyway. Even better they have a full menu, tons of seating and a full bar offering, sans actual bar. I got an open faced turkey sandwich, it was wonderful and was real turkey even, not one bit of gelatin in the meat! The price point is awesome too, the food and drink are both pretty inexpensive. I was hesitant to go into this place because of it’s appearance, but it truly is a hidden gem. If you’re opting to forego the whole chain RedAppleOliveFriday experience in lieu of a locally owned less obnoxious clapping«birthday song-ish» place, try it out!
