Very disappointed in this place. After reading the rave reviews, this lil joint fell short of expectations. I ordered a burger and my girlfriend ordered the«Fisherman’s Sandwich». The burger was flavorless, definitely nothing special and came with some very brown avocado on the side. Not even sure why They would serve browned avocado? The fisherman’s sandwich wasn’t really much of a sandwich. It contained the smallest piece of overcooked fish I’ve ever experienced. Absolutely pitiful! I give this place an F and will not be returning.

This place is great! Stopped by the other night for an impromptu dinner and it was the only place nearby. My boyfriend and I each got a half deli sandwich and they were huge! Took a little while to make, but they were really good. The people were very friendly and helpful. We got some ice cream afterwards too. It’s attached to a store too(Danny’s?) which has all sorts of meats and prepared foods. They have some local eggs from a farm in Racine too, which I’m so glad to have found! Their meat selection looks great. Will be back soon for sure. Definitely recommend!

Not a huge fan of the bread they use on the subs. BUT it’s very fresh and everyone else I go with seems to like it. Maybe I’m being too picky… However they do not skimp on meat and toppings! I recommend the burgers… with a Butcher shop attached you can imagine the beef is excellent.

I live in the nearby neighborhood, so it’s a quick walk away for me. Good ice cream/custard stop in the summer. There is a variety of toppings too. Fresh food and I heard the sandwiches and other food is pretty darn good. Also heard the coffee is good too. Prices are reasonable as well. Comfortable atmosphere and the employees are nice. Overall a great café to relax and enjoy food.

I’d driven by this little café, located next to Danny’s Meats, for ages without pulling in. Then one day a few months ago, I spotted the drive-thru window and figured I’d indulge my coffee addiction… er, craving. Yeah, that’s it. Craving. Since then, I’ve been a near daily customer. The nonfat vanilla latte is one of the best I’ve ever had and the kids love the white chocolate steamed milk and the cream cheese muffins– so much so that we often make a breakfast run en route to school. You can get a huge variety of custards and toppings at the window as well as an extensive menu of coffee drinks, smoothies and, on certain days, delicious soups. Go inside if you want a made-to-order, deliciously fresh sandwich or salad. The only thing that drives me crazy about this place is that I don’t feel like they advertise their existence enough– or at least the right way. They haven’t caught on to Facebook and social media marketing, for starters. I watch all the Prairie families lined up at McDonald’s up the street for quick breakfasts en route to school and want to shake the café tables at Kayne’s and yell, «Hey come on! You’ve got a great customer base driving right by every day! Slap some healthy to-go breakfast specials on your sign in the parking lot and draw them in!» Why do I care so much? Because I want to see them survive and thrive! We don’t have any similar establishments with a drive-thru(a must for busy moms like me) on the north side of town. The food and drinks are so well-made here that they truly deserve to be recognized, enjoyed and supported by the local community. So come on, Kayne’s, get the word out! You’re awesome!
