I almost didn’t call today because I read negative reviews about First Call Heating & Cooling in a different state and didn’t realize it was for a different business. We have used First Call for 17 years and never had a problem so I would go with who I liked. I’m so glad I did. Stephanie answered the phone and scheduled Joel to come out the same day around my busy schedule. Joel was very patient with me as I am disabled and had to let my dogs out before he entered and again before he came back upstairs. He knew what the problem was within 15 minutes. He advised what the problem was, how much it would cost to fix and did a short term fix for a day until my part came in. He scheduled a return appt for the next day at the exact time I requested. He said there would only be one trip charge though and he would not charge me until he fixed it. After 4 hours had gone by and the house had not cooled down any, I called and asked if maybe something else could be wrong or if the bad circuit board would cause the temperature not to be controlled because the blower was working now. Stephanie sent Matt out. This happened to be the most hectic day for us. Matt got there and said he would check things out to make sure there were no other issues and that the part actually was in already. I had to go to an appt for refinancing our house so he said no problem, my 16 yr old son was home & he could text me any info. About 30 minutes after Matt got there he was finished and told me the total. Only 1 trip charge for the both. The first diagnoses by Joel was correct the circuit board was bad in two areas so it fixed both problems, the blower and the temperature. He gave me the $ 20 off trip charge that was on their website and was willing to wait in my driveway until I got done signing the papers at the bank and returned home, about 15 minutes. He ran up the street and got gas in his vehicle and wrote up the paperwork while he waited. We got home I paid with a check and he emailed my paperwork and warranty and all was good. First Call is fantastic! They worked with us during our home warranty period with American Home Shield. AHS tried to give us the run-around, but First Call stood by what was really going on with our air and furnace. Joel is honest and will tell you what you need to hear. We ended up purchasing a new HVAC system after our air went out for good– we were having crazy troubles with our furnace last winter, so a new system was a good choice with all the discounts and tax credits. First call is a little more expensive than some, but the service is well worth it! Don’t cheat yourself and your home.
