Losing someone is hard. Plain and simple. The folks at Hamel made this challenging time bareable. Every single person… Karen, Scott, Chris, were simply fantastic. They were soft, caring, knowledgeable and available to me. I did not know anything about making arrangements. I had never had to do such a thing. Hamel knew all the right questions and considerations. I will forever more recommend Hamel. They were exactly what was needed and a bright spot on an otherwise dark period of time.

My husband died suddenly in February, there were blizzards daily, he went from MGH to the medical examiner, it was crazy. Scott & Chris helped me through the maze of paperwork, got his body released from medical examiner and brought to them, helped me decide on coffins, wake and church services, the prayer cards are fabulous and the thank you cards beautiful quality. The selection of Urns is wide, they arranged transportation, offered to help with the program, arranged the flowers and picture boards and were so compassionate and sensitive to our family who was in shock the entire week. I would highly recommend them

I am an Army Casualty Assistance Officer who helps families after their loved one, a soldier, dies or is killed. I found myself in a real bind and Chris Goulet helped me avert a real crisis. 2 urns were required to present the ashes of a fallen soldier, ½ to mother and ½ to widow. The Army provided one and the funeral home we were working with(not this one) forgot to order the 2nd urn even though I reminded them several times. I found this out at 3:45 on Friday and we were presenting the ashes the next morning. We found these people on line, I drove in rush hour traffic, Chris met me there, I was on phone with widow and sister, we figured out one she would like, she gave me the quotes she wanted engraved along with a drawing of the soldier a local artist did. Does that seem like a lot? Yes! By 5pm Chris communicated this all to the manufacturer in California and they had it in my hands at 8AM Saturday morning. We presented the ashes to both mom and widow as planned. What gives me goose bumps is that Chris and the urn manufacturer did all this work for free as a gesture of respect to this family who sacrificed so much already. This was all a gesture of love. They charged the family nothing. The urn was SPECTACULAR. Even the crematorium said it was the most amazing urn they ever saw. I can not thank these people enough.

My Grandfather recently passed away and this place was recommended by a friend of my mom. I have to say that they were so professional and comforting from the very beginning to the very end even during this very sad time. My family is Chinese and the fact that they understood every little detail of the Chinese custom that my mom and I are still raving about the staff and the service. Especially Chris and Scott, I personally had the pleasure to deal with Chris who was very kind and comforting in every aspect. They took care of a lot of the major phone calls with the cemetery, took care of all the details, was up front with all of the costs and was just so very informative. If you want a place that you can trust and find comfort in saying goodbye to a love one, this is a place that will definitely take care of your family’s needs in a time of mourning. They make things very simple and take the time to understand all of your needs even when it comes to a different culture.
