Another great stir fry last night from Gaveston’s. So good, so consistent this year. Love his food

I’ve lived in Marina Bay for 2 years now and just found out about this place. I wish I found it sooner! The food is delicious. I had a vermicelli salad and one of their Vietnamese sandwiches. Both were excellent. I definitely recommend this place.

This has been the worst ownership yet. I have lived in the Marina for years and have always taken advantage of this little store. Now, every time we have ever gone down to pick up beer, etc, the place is closed! I have given up on even trying so lots of business lost there as we used to go all of the time. Too bad

WOWWOWWOW! Okay, when last week I walked into this market at Marina Bay, which used to serve pizza and subs, I was confused to see a new Vietnamese menu. They also have American/Italian foods, so I ordered an Italian sub. The veggies were fresh, the bread was crisply and a cut above typical«sub» bread. All around delicious. I went back two days later(I was doing work on my boat) and tried the Vietnamese barbecue beef sandwich. Holy moley… it’s no exaggeration to say this might have been the most flavorful sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. The beef was incredibly tender, and the sandwich was loaded with fresh herbs and vegetables. One caveat is that it was pretty spicy… but I love spicy food. There were lots of other rich/noodles dishes on the menu, which I can’t wait to try. This place is gonna be a great addition to Marina Bay!

I’ve had a boat at Marina Bay for nearly 20 years and have seen owners come and go at this location. Gaveston Café is the best yet. I became a fan of the phở beef in the fall, when the temperature dropped, and that was my choice again last week. In warmer weather, I’ve opted for the pork fried rice. They offer both an East and West menu, Vietnamese on the one hand, pizza, sandwiches and the like on the other. So far I’ve only ordered from the East side, but I’d be surprised if the West side would disappoint. Super casual with just a few tables… it remains a beer, wine and sundries store, as well. Addresses on Victory Road can be hard to find. Gaveston Café is directly under the Marina office.

What a welcome new business to the Marina Bay neighborhood: located just off the boardwalk behind Siros. The owner, Gaveston, is a Vietnamese chef trained in various cuisines so the Café features an East and West menu. The Pad Thai, Stir fry, and Spring Rolls were delicious(and he is willing to adjust level of «hotness» to your taste). His Wonton Soup had the most flavorful broth I have ever encountered. The Vietnamese Sandwiches: various meat options with Crunchy Pickled Daikon and carrots, homemade Aioli, and optional cilantro and Hot Peppers served on fresh French Baguettes are a welcome change from the ubiquitous Subs found at local chain shops. The West menu includes wonderful crispy thin crust pizza. We had the Onion and pepper and found it cooked to perfection without the watery sogginess often associated with veggie pizzas. More traditional sandwiches, sales, and soups are also available. At this time, I would suggest Take-out as the small eating area has not been fully realized and lacks ambience. As the month’s warm up, this will be addressed and outdoor seating will also be available. The owners are very pleasant and gracious and willing to answer any questions for those who may not be familiar with Vietnamese cuisine. The adjacent market section offers cold beer and wine and a small grocery selection.
