The food was fine, but a little overpriced. The real catch was the service. I had to sit for a while before my presence was acknowledged. I wasn’t huddled in a corner, I was sitting at the bar on a weeknight, with the bartender buzzing back and forth doing other things before asking if I wanted a drink. When she did ask, that prompted another waiting period, and then it turns out Drake’s was out my requested beer. So I asked for another beer, promptly delivered, which also began another waiting period to order food while the bartender sped away. Mind you, there’s about 5 people at the bar. All the while, a baby is crying behind me. The rest of the restaurant was empty. I eventually got my burger, and it hit the spot, but downtown Quincy is big enough that I recommend you try somewhere else first, even if you’re staying at the attached hotel.

I have eaten here several times, mostly because of the convenience of the restaurant being attached to my hotel .The food is good though, not great but its good. I like the chicken sandwich with baked sweet potatoe. The steaks are kind of mediocre to me, but that’s just my opinion. The bartenders are pretty friendly and serve fairly quickly.

Although I’ve heard many bad things — we had a wonderful experience! Steaks cooked perfect, great size and friendly, helpful service! Give ‘em another try!

Won’t be back. Went for dinner with my wife and a some friends a few weeks ago, while my wife and our friends received their meals in a relatively timely manner from our clearly stressed server, my meal was forgotten entirely. I knew something was wrong when everyone else got their salads but I didn’t, but I chocked it up to a small over site in a new restaurant. After everyone had gotten their food I flagged down another server(as we hadn’t seen ours since we placed our orders) to let them know my meal was missing. A few minutes later our server arrived to tell me he forgot to ring in my order and it would be out soon, an honest mistake on his part and I’m glad he at least didn’t try to pass it off on the kitchen. After another five to ten minutes I got my smoked pork steak, which was one of the driest, saltiest chunks of meat I’ve ever had. Honestly, it was borderline jerky, Unless this place seriously steps up it’s game soon, there is simply no reason to eat here with so many great choices in Quincy.

Sarurday March 8th2015 Went to Drakes on Saturday night for the first time, I don’t think I’ve ever been so dissapointed in a restaurant in my life. I was so dissapointed in Draked that I actually set up a profile o Unilocal, just to let others know. First we ordered a $ 11 sampler app, which diddn’t ammount to much. The 3 chicken wings were cold and and had been cooked to the point that they were dehydrated. There were also 3 little stuffed mushrooms that were only stuffed with cream cheese, also cold. You will find that throughout my post, food beig cold was a theme. After about 25 minuted our kids food comes out. the two chicken strips that my daughter received were also fried to dehydration and cold. They were not fresh, but the kind that comes in a bag from Tyson. My son did say that is hotdog was good. We probaly waited another 40 minutes and my husband and my food finally came out. I got a steak that was completely cold and also cooked to dehydration, even though I ordered it mediom. My husband ordered the ribs that were clearly cooked several days earlier and also cold. I sent my steak and about 25 minutes later, after everyone was done eating and the kids were crawling on my head, they finally bring my new steak. It was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. I had to send it back yet again. They finally brought it back out and it didn’t taste fresh at all. 25 minutes later our waiitress finally brought out check– all smiled as she handed us out $ 60.00 bill. We paid the bill and on the way home called and sppoke to the manager. I explained our experience and they said ‘Im sorry to hear that’. I will let the owner know. That was it. I will never go to this restaurant again.

As time goes by. Saturday Aug 9, 2014 It’s a long drive to Quincy, IL from Lanesboro, MN so the day started early.(If you consider 9:30 early, and I do.) Little side stops along the way are always fun and interesting but they do take some extra time. The Lady and I are in no hurry and so when we checked in for the evening the time was nearly 7:00pm. We asked the clerk at the front desk to suggest a nearby restaurant and his answer tops the review. He said it was new but had excellent filet Mignon at a reasonable price. He was right about it being new and the steak was very good at a reasonable price. Everything else was an unmitigated adventure in disaster. We should have sensed the indication of such a debacle when the overworked young lady at the greeting station had to bus the table as we were being seated. A few minutes later(7:50) a harried young man asked for a drink order. We ordered a glass of Merlot, a glass of water(each) and the Filet Mignon dinner. Ten minutes passed by then the water appeared. Another 10⁄12 minutes later the glass of wine was served. Twenty minutes after the wine the salad was served and the server spilled half the vinegar and oil dressing on the table. The Oil part. By this time almost 45 minutes had passed since we ordered dinner. When he returned to the table to wipe up the mess I asked if he knew when the entrée would be served. No clue. His response was, «We’re very busy tonight.» I asked to speak to the manager. He said, «I’ll try to find him.» «Good», I responded. He returned shortly with this reply, «The manager said we are very busy tonight.» «Not good enough. I want to speak to the manager.» He walked away. I told my lovely companion we would be leaving in 10 minutes if this issue was not resolved. I’d drop a $ 10.00 bill on the table for the two glasses of cheap wine and consider the salads complementary. Two or three minutes go by and the manager came to the table. I explained the situation(over an hour since we’d ordered) and reiterated my discussion with my table mate. With five minutes to spare the entrée was on the table. One of the sides ordered was applesauce. Unfortunately, It is impossible to eat with a steak knife and fork. Our waiter would not glance toward our table until the check was presented. I made him a gift of the applesauce. I do not like giving 1 Star ratings. Sadly, in this case, it is warranted. The restaurant business is very competitive and should be staffed to handle«We’re very busy» situations. Hopefully, after a few weeks or months in business things will get better.
