Rice porridge is awesome! Their hotdog buns are soft and fresh, shumai is ok, wonton noodle soup is good. Most of the food here is good. Just the language barrier is frustrating sometimes when I’m waiting in line and some Chinese person in back of me start talking to the counter/prep women. She then always let me stand there and got them their food first. I’m like WTF? This Always happen! And I never said anything! So last time someone did that I had the biggest attitude telling the woman it’s MY turn! She said sorry and was rushing and spilled really hot chao on her hand. I felt really bad. So I came again today and same shit happens, I was ignored while this man came after me got his shit first. I didn’t say anything for her sake.

Best pork buns I’ve had outside NYC. Shumai also tasty and priced right. Soups are very generous

This is a family own restautant and may have slow service if you order their«wok fried» dishes as they only have one chef in the back kitchen but their food is pretty good for their price. Their congee is pretty fresh, the beef rice noodles and plain rice noodles are good, their beef fried noodles are good. If you want to get food, i’d recommend to call ahead and order, especially around lunch time.

Closed on Mondays, be warned! Contempo is a family-run bakery that doesn’t have the greatest selection, but everything is made with love. I like the authentic taste of the buns and chee cheong fun(rice noodle rolls). They ask you if you need anything on the side and tell you what is available in the back. I would love to grab breakfast here, but the food isn’t usually ready until 8AM.

For some reason — the service is a bit slow… best to call ahead on your order. Love their breakfast options — rice noodles, dim sum and pastries.

Ever have those deep fried cruellers with your congee? This place has the best by far. They do sell out quick especially on Sundays. You’d need to get them before 11AM. Their other baked goods and food are good too. I like picking up a couple of dim sum stuff from them periodically.

The bakery here is family run, and just because of that, it comes highly recommended. Opened 6 days a week from breakfast till early evening, their pastries/buns are made fresh every morning and have no leftovers for the next. I especially love their cocktail buns – very moist and has a good burst of coconut on the inside. My mom loves to order chinese-styled cakes from this bakery and they are so delicious! The layers of cake are light and fluffy, the fruits are crisp and sweet, and the cream used to frost the cake is just the right kind of sweet. Also, I really love the freshness of their café menu as well, and all of the dishes come with complementary hot tea. They offer things like wonton noodle soup, dry sauteed beef and rice noodles, beef brisket soup, soy sauce king noodles, etc. Mom definitely has ordered many times from here and each time, they don’t disappoint. Apparently, there’s a choice to get a small or large portion for the meals too, which is good if you want leftovers to take home for the next meal. The service is absolutely wonderful from the hostess at the front of the bakery and the chef behind the scenes is so nice too! The only thing to note is that this is a cash-only place, which is okay with me because I can spend 10 $ to get an extremely filling meal and pastries to go. Service: 5⁄5 Cleanliness: 3⁄5 Food(appearance, portion, taste): 5⁄5 Overall: 4.5÷5

I’m gonna echo the love for Contempo. I love their hot dog buns, roasted pork buns, and coconut cream buns, especially when they’re right out of the oven. I highly recommend their shrimp with noodles, too, especially doused in sweet soy sauce. The place is cash-only, tiny, and definitely informal(they serve everything on styrofoam with plastic utensils), but that’s part of the charm. And at 90 cents a bun, there’s no better breakfast deal in the North Quincy area.

I LOVE this place. The food is so delicious, I became obsessed with going every week. Great food plus great prices?! You just can’t beat it. In particular, I always get the shrimp noodles — always fresh, always hits the spot. The egg tarts are large and are just the right amount of sweetness and flaky thin crust. Everyone who works there is friendly too.
