Got the Pork Cold Cut sandwich which was pretty good. There was quite a bit of meat and filling. Good value at $ 4, would have given four stars but the service was rude and unwelcoming.

This used to be a good place for Vietnamese subs but not anymore. They raised prices and are skimping on the product. As the only option for Vietnamese subs in Quincy that’s the only reason why I go back. However I do so rarely now and with caution because I know what I’m getting when I do. They skimp on the beef to the point where I feel cheated, especially when it’s the owner who is making the sub. The beef can also contain parts that are inedible, chewy unbreakable tendons that feel like I’m trying to eat rubber. And today I got a sandwich that was just below par. It ended up breaking a part in my hands with the bread being soggy and the meat not sliced evenly. It was all bulging out. Nobody likes it when they get a sandwich good in flavor but badly put together. I ended up eating it with a fork and a plate. Service can be slow if there is only one person around. The owner will ignore you to fix things up in the shop. I wish the standards were set higher, especially now they have renovated AND – most importantly– that they give you the amount you pay for because every time it’s inconsistent.

Barely any meat or pâté… vegetables are picked well, and everything seems fresh…

I come from K and Lee Sandwiches in San Diego and Santa Ana. I miss a good grilled pork banh mi. So when I trekked down to Quincy I stopped by because I was so hungry. My grilled pork banh mi was BOMB. The bread was crisp but not overly crispy. But the mayo/butter mixture, I have sweet dreams about that at night — it completed my sandwich! I would drive all the way down to the Q to get another one of these in a heartbeat.

There’s far better banh mi around. There was very little meat on my sandwich, mostly it was bread and mayo. Did not enjoy it that much — but it’s an incredibly affordable sandwich!

Love the Bahn Mi Pork sandwich! No idea whats in it or on it but the flavor was really good. Bread was light and crispy and seriously only $ 4.50 for a good size sandwich. Also had a watermelon smoothy that was quite good and refreshing. Can’t wait to try the other sandwiches.

Not as good as their store in Dorchester but, in a pinch, the Banh Mi sandwiches are acceptable. Also, their other store has more variety of food to eat.

These sandwiches are the only thing I consume without any clue of what I am eating, but they are so tasty for a mere $ 3.50 that I do not care. You can get high marks from me based on either quality or value. The sandwich is really good, but it is not the kind of quality you should drive 20 miles just to try. It is more of a street vendor operation that has a permanent location in an Asian supermarket. The service is spotty. I do not speak Vietnamese, so communication is done mainly through pointing and head nods after saying«#1». Smiles are not included in the transaction, or are also in a language I do not speak. As a lunch time treat a few miles from work, it appears clean enough so soon to opening and the ingredients are fresh. I can’t comment on anything later in the day. The #1(no clue on the meat, $ 3,.50) or #4(Beef, $ 4.00) were first recommended by my Vietnamese co-worker that introduced me to the place, I haven’t strayed from those choices in the 5 – 6 years I’ve been going. The value cannot be beat in the area, plus the location makes it perfect to grab a sandwich to go when stocking up on coconut milk or curry pastes at Kam Man.

The banh mi was average. The lady behind the counter looked like she didn’t want to be there let alone serve you. The only positive is that it’s conveniently located next to Kam Man. I probably won’t go back unless I have a huge craving for banh mi and don’t want to make the trip to Dorchester or Chinatown.

I went here again to get my friend a sub(desperate). The lady was running late, ok fine no big deal. She dropped all the bnh mi subs that was in huge paper bag. I would say about 50 in there, on the floor. She picked it up put it back instead of tossing it. I just feel bad for those who had their banh mi dropped on the floor. It’s amazing what i witness every time I come here.

I love the Vietnamese subs here! Just the right amount of pâté, mayo, veggies, and meat! The #1 sub is my fav right now… and the french bread is delish. Tastes so fresh! I don’t think the little lady at the counter speaks much English, but I could be wrong(as I always speak in Vietnamese to her!) I love all the Vietnamese goodies and desserts that line the table as well.

Convenient, cheap, and good. There might be better bahn mi sandwiches, but for $ 3.50 what else can you ask for? The #4 beef sandwich is perfectly flavored– Asian BBQ with lightly pickled daikon and carrot. With or without hot sauce is good. Service is quick. The tip jar rarely has any money in it, so I usually leave a dollar or change in it — it’s the least I could do to thank them for charging so little!

In my quest for the best Banh Mi, this is my favorite place. I’m only looking at the Vietnamese Cold Cut banh mi sandwich and this one excels! There is just a tad of mayo that is added to the heated, crispy baguette. The mayo seems to melt into the roll and compliments the pâté. The cold cuts are fresh, the cucumbers and carrots are perfectly pickled, and the cilantro is crisp!

A pretty good and reasonably priced version of bahn mi sandwiches. It’s not exactly walkable for me, so I can’t hit it too often. If this were a place around the corner from my apartment, I’d probably be a bigger fan and would eat here more often. My big gripe though is that for spiciness, they use sliced jalapenos rather than the tiny red chillies which I prefer, and which I find at the other bahn mi shops. With that being said, I only hit them if I happen to be hungry and find myself at the Kam Man plaza. I would not drive out here just for their bahn mi. On a side note, they do well prepackaged versions of other Vietnamese food that look ok. I’ve only tried one or two items a long time ago — nothing to write home about, but a nice option for some quick bites if you’re in the area. They also sell the Trung Nguyen brand of Vietnamese coffee(not available at the Kam Man store) for those who prefer making their Vietnamese coffee at home.

Whyyyy, whyy are you so far away? Honestly, this is by far the tastiest banh mi I’ve had in the Boston general area. Why the EFF are you in the middle of no where next to a warehousey super market? Large sandwiches, stuffed with fresh veggies, lots of thick cut cold cuts, tasty pâté and the bread is crispy and airy like it should be. Real sliced beef, not the raggedy crap in some of the Boston China town places you see. Every time I find a banh mi place it is always out of my reach.

I’m a BBQ beef fan and they do it well here. They also have a good baguette that they pile everything on to. The only problem I have with the place is that during all the times I’ve been here, the woman at the counter seems really annoyed that I’m there. I don’t care if she actually gives a sh*t about me but can you please contain your hatred for customers? Thanks. Also, there’s no seating at all in there– just a counter and a small fridge section.

Like other reviews it is only $ 3 for a tasty sandwich as of 5÷31÷10. The beef one has a great combination of sweet/salty/savory/spicy. And it didn’t quite fill me up, it’s not a typical flavor combination you can get at other places. Banh Mi Ba Le is inside the KaMan, and if you’ve never been there before you’ll have to be brave and just walk up to the counter, ask for a number four(beef is usually pretty safe) the person behind the counter will ask if you want hot peppers(yes/no) and then hand over $ 3(tax is included). A girl in front of me was trying to pay with a credit card and the lady behind the counter jumped me to the front of the line because I had my money ready to go.

Awesome! $ 3 for a sub bigger then a 6″ at subway and waaaaay tastier. Location kind of sucks because it is inside the kam man and therefore parking is a nightmare on the weekend. but you can follow it up with a boba tea right down the hall. If you’ve never had bahn mi before be brave and try it. the beef was very tasty.

What can you ask for for $ 3? How about a Vietnamese sub! This can easily be 2 meals for me. Big and tasty! If I feel like eating light or healthy, I go for the fresh summer roll which is also $ 3 for 3 rolls per order. They certainly don’t skimp for being a cheap eat. Tax is included with the price and is a cash only biz. So make sure you stop by the ATM first if you don’t have cash on you!

Pretty much the best Vietnamese sandwich I have tasted. I’ve tried a few in NYC that were supposed to be great. Ehhh. I also tried a couple of places in Dorchester’s Vietnamese section. Ehhh. On the way to another Kam Man grocery trip last week, the boy was complaining he was hungry so I made him stop off at this little Vietnamese sandwich shop. «$ 2.50 for a sandwich. Wow. Order me a beef one», he says to me while on the phone with his dad. «And ask them to put lettuce and tomato on it.» Yeah, it’s a Vietnamese sandwich. There is no lettuce and tomato. I’m so glad I ordered and not him, thereby avoiding total embarassment. I get him the standard with carrots, cilantro and whatever else they put in there. Once we get home, he starts eating the sandwich and exclaims how tasty it is. So I ask for a bite. Two bites later, he’s bitching at me to give it back. It really was by far the best Vietnamese sandwich I’ve tried. I’m definitely picking one up on our next Kam Man trip.
