I have been going to Lee at a Step Beyond Beauty my whole life, and I can’t imagine having anyone else cut it. I’m so grateful my family and I go to such a wonderful salon with such talented hair stylists and friendly people. Liz and Lee are so laid back and fun when they’re cutting my hair, I get to catch up and chit chat. Each of the ladies who work there are really friendly, and I love getting my hair done here, it’s the one appointment I always look forward to. I recommend anyone who needs any type of work done to their hair give these ladies a shot, they do not disappoint!!!

Lee was great. I was sent here by Gino’s because I’m a woman. When I asked Lee if she could shave my head, she said that was not a problem. She pulled out the 1A and 1 blades and got to work. Afterwards, she moisturized my scalp with tea tree oil. She was very friendly and professional, and did not give me the crazy, «Why are you shaving your head» look. I’d definitely go back. The place is clean and they have a variety of products too. Also, the prices are very reasonable.

«We share an entrance with Gino’s — so when you get here just walk in and walk all the way down the hall… If you get confused PLEASE call — I don’t want you to feel like you just have to wander around until you find me.» This was my first experience with hair stylist extraordinaire, Erica. I walked into A Step Beyond Beauty and was instantly greeted by the sounds of raucous chatter. The ladies in the salon were having a lively discussion over the blare of the hair dryers and the snip snip snip of the scissors. After a short wait(I was a bit early), Erica took me to the sink to get my shampoo on. We briefly discussed what I was looking for(thick, but not too thick bangs — keep the length and thin it out). She encouraged my choices and assured me I wouldn’t walk out with helmet-bangs. She worked on my hair and we chatted. She wasn’t overly chatty — which I appreciated and it was clear she knew how to cut my(very Asian) hair. Erica mentioned that she used to work in two more upscale salons and how when she moved to A Step Beyond Beauty, she had lost some of her snobby clientele. It’s true, A Step Beyond is no day spa. The interior looks a bit dated and there are no windows and overhead fluorescent lights dominate — but these things didn’t bother me. And without the fancy salon atmosphere, I didn’t have to pay the fancy salon price. The cuts are between $ 35-$ 40. Erica was a true professional and made my hair look great!
