This Fay Da is located in the Skyview center and opens a bit later(8:30) than the target or skyfoods. The walnut chocolate bun is served warm here and the egg custards not. Selection is the same as others; tables are never, ever available so I just grab and run. Haven’t tried a cake here because this place is best for grab and go.

I’ve gone to various Fay Da bakeries in Queens since I was a kid, and with the exception of a few visits, the customer service has almost always been poor. This location is no different. Not only is there a communication issue, but employees will usually skip over people of color. I’d elaborate, but will save that for the BBB. Regarding their goods, having been raised on manapua and real deal baked goods in one Chinatown bakery in particular, the goods sold at Fay Da bakery are not up to par. I guess the convenience factor of the Fay Da bakeries is what has made them thrive, but the trip to my favorite Chinatown bakery is beyond worth it for me. In short: Junk stuff. Junk service. Better head to Canal Street.

I’m not sure why the reviews of the Fay Da bakeries are so low, especially this location. I’ve been here numerous times at different times throughout the day and the baked goods are consistently fresh. They have the more traditional Chinese pastries, e.g. Red bean bun, taro buns, etc., and also croissants and breads baked with a little Asian flare. If you happen to be in this mall and need a red bean bun fix then this is the spot for you.

I love my Chinese pastries, this is the place to go because its cheap and good. They have a wide range of baked goods, from cookies, cakes, tarts to puff pastries. I personally love the chicken puff pie, which is $ 1.95. It’s filled with onions and chicken goodness. I’d have a picture of it, but it’s that good that I forgot to take a picture of it. I do recommend coming here if you’re in skyview mall.

If you want a quick fix of Asian bakery goods while at SkyView Mall, here’s the place to go on the lower level. Cash only though. $ 1.00 egg tarts! Unfortunately it was a bit disappointing. The middle consistency was more of a thin Jello-like filling vs. a thicker custard. :( I’ll keep going to Taipan Bakery whenever I’m in Flushing. Their egg tarts are like $ 1.10(?) if I recall and they have Portuguese, Almond and Papaya flavored ones!

Great place for a quick snack while shopping in the Skyview Mall. I like the sponge cake and the hotdog baked into a sweet bun. But the main reason to go here is for the Bubble Tea. Not the best in the area, but so refreshing after shopping for a few hours. They are also one of the few places that have coconut flavored bubbles — it’s not the bubble tea, but an amazing slushy with tapioca balls. I’m inclined to return to try other things… just have to remember to carry cash!

a bakery is a bakery is a bakery. however, some buns stay soft and delicious and some turn into rocks. this place offers the first type. I would give it more stars if they hadn’t dropped a bunch of lids onto the floor and put one of those directly on top of my coffee+tea right in front of me. alas, it is another asian place and i do not expect more.

Located in the mall, this Fay Da feels nice and clean and fresh compared to some of the other locations. Parking free in the mall lot for three hours. Fresh and friendly staff, cash only. The red gift cards for $ 10 have to be used all at once. Love the sesame balls here — one of the few places that uses red bean in filling.

There are many like it and this is just another one of them. This is located in the mall and has a pretty large seating area. The plus side about this place is there is plenty of room for you to move around unlike the other locations in Flushing/Manhattan where everything is so cramped together. Employees here are a mix of cantonese and mandarin speakers.
