The closest Jewish deli to the neighborhood area. Matzo ball chicken noodle soup, what your mama ordered when you feel out of sorts. G was all out of sorts today so the request was answered in the form of the soup. Two small soups $ 10.00. I just think that is a bit expensive but probably not for New York rates. G said the soup was good for what ailed him, but it was more of a need to have the soup vs. wanting to have the soup. I would say ehh on most of the items here. If you need a real potato pancake, they have it, but the sandwiches are made with such small portions of filling you feel like you just got robbed once you bit into it. Who with the gun stole my meat. Again, its ok, its soup… but pass on everything else. The cake too looks good, but they give you a piece so small again, stick up… gimme your wallet, here is your cake.

This is a good deli. Though they are a bit expensive. My favorite thing is the noodle soup. I get to come here every now and then.

Delicious kosher deli! We come here at least once every other month. Love the pickles and cole slaw that comes with every meal.(Though, please get the dressing in the cole slaw right, sometimes it’s too dry, others, soaking wet…) The pastrami is usually awesome but nowadays, you’ll need to order regular fat as the owner told the guys behind the counters to trim some of the fat off before slicing.

Waitresses were eating behind counter and then serving food, never bothering to wash their hands. Food was late to be served as they were too busy eating! Very unsanitary and unappetizing, to say the least!

Can’t make any recommendation — wish I could because it’s local, but I avoid it

Lunch specials come with so much food I thought I was going to burst. It provided me with lunch for the next day. Friendly service, one of the only truly, «kosher delis» left in Queens. Sometimes you can find coupons in the local clippers sent around the neighborhood.

Great sandwiches, knishes and pickles… Staff had that NewYork feel. Talking Mets vs. Yanks!!! Makes coming back to Queens all good.

Buddy’s has really improved. They have cleaned the place(thanks to the health department) and are now on my list of favorite places to go. Their stuffed cabbage and pastrami/corned beef sandwiches are delish!

The best pastrami, was in NY for an extended time this year. Really nice people and good food. I have only done take out and delivery, but the mini potato pancakes and pastrami are terrific, everything I have tried is good. The place itself(to eat in) is just ok. Plus it’s kosher!

Great Kosher deli! Fantastic chicken noodle matzo ball soup, and excellent pastrami. Rreally great turkey meatloaf sandwich, too. In spite of Kosher delis not being«in» right now, Buddy’s was completely full when I was in there on a Saturday for lunch.

Ok so i ordered open faced brisket with fries and chicken noodle soup. What i got was noodles in chicken broth and so beyond dry brisket. Seems that it is cut then microwaved I dont think i have ever had a dryer piece of meat. You can see the color change from the meat being microwaved. And the fries were obviously not made fresh from today. You can see the discoloration from the fries that probably from a day or two ago. Save your money go somewhere else.

It’s good that we still have here in Oakland Gardens a real Kosher Deli. Best Pastrami around nowadays. Matzo ball soup, corned beef, brisket, knishes, turkey, hot dogs and many more items are way above average as well. Bens is far from what it used to be while Buddy’s has gotten better with age. I stopped in craving a turkey sandwich & I was happy with what I got! It’s definitely comparable in taste & price to bens kosher deli, which is a favorite of mine, so that’s a big compliment! Their Fries were awesome. The turkey sandwich & fries were more than enough for 2 people. I’d come back to try their coleslaw & knishes. The kugel & noodle casserole looked authentic. Service was quick and very friendly. Smallish super casual(cafeteria feel) place so I wouldn’t eat in, but I’ll definitely come back for take out.

Good deli option, but not as good as surrounding restaurants. Pricing is reasonable to expensive. Excellent pastrami sandwiches. Matzoh ball soup is pretty good. Service, quite friendly. Food takes a little while to come to you, so be patient. Décor is lacking. Unfortunately, I don’t feel any soul in this deli, no connection to the ancestors that made these dishes famous. But, it is still a very good restaurant to grab a quick bite or dine in. I would love to come back and give this place a second try.

Decent Food. I have now had this delivered twice. Both times the food was decent/good. Both times my order has been wrong. The second time, I ordered Matzoh ball soup. No Matzoh ball was in the soup when It got to me… The«Mikey» Was good but a little dry. Its probably a lot better when you go into the deli instead of ordering.

There are meal specials on the front window that does not mention if they are lunch specials/with no time frame. If you order after a certain time they will charge you several extra dollars. Those ads should indicate the time frame for the specials

It’s OK but there are better options. It also looked like a senior citizen convention inside. The food: The Blockbuster– I saw a Unilocal photo and it looked fantastic. It’s a standard knish with hot pastrami and mustard inside. The knish seemed pretty regular but the pastrami was just OK. I definitely have had better pastrami. I though the dish was pretty mediocre but way over priced for what it is. Knish– had the Buddy and the Knish Knosh versions. I really wish they heated them differently, I guess they used the microwave. They both had so much potential, but both came up flat. I’ve had Knish Knosh knishes from the actual store on Queens blvd and they are amazing, the ones here were different. The buddy one taste like home fries with a knish wrapped around it, meh. Coconut cream Cake– this I did like. It was a nice moist yellow cake with a cream cheese type frosting with shaved coconut.

Excellent corned beef, the pastrami was not quite its equal. Pricy, but worth it. Some staff there could use a lesson or two in etiquette. On nice days, ask to sit outdoors after 6 pm. Just make sure they know you’re there. My wife recently tried the tongue. She thought it good, but not great. Knish was ok.
