Franhill Optics

Have gone to Franhill Optical for many years and have had several experiences that demonstrated how good their customer service is (even though the experience itself may have been negative — they made good on it).
I have a strong prescription and wear progressive lenses. Probably about 10 years ago, I got a pair that I absolutely loved (it was like the vision and clarity I’d had as a child), but after about a week — one of the lenses developed crazing which looked like little star bursts. I returned the pair, and they sent out and got the lens replaced; I wore them for another week or so and now — the other lens developed similar crazing. This time, the lenses were replaced with another brand — so they replaced the glasses twice, at their expense.
Prior to that, I had a frame which began to «peel» at about 11 months; I had accompanied a friend to an optician appointment at a well known optical chain and asked if it was their frame — would they do anything about it? Answer «No». So, I didn’t expect much, but I returned to Franhill and they replaced the frame — no questions asked.
I could buy cheaper glasses somewhere, I’m sure; but IMO this office stands by their product. They also are very conveniently located and I have been to them a number of times needing adjustments to the frames — always because of my rough handling of my glasses.

Horrible experience. Went to get my glasses tightened and SUPERVISOR couldn’t fix it. Gave her my glasses to tighten and she broke it. She claims she tightens glasses from the middle, which is true but bent my glasses and the arm of my lens slipped out. Went back and she did not want to even fix it. She claims it was a «coincidence» it broke. Had my glasses tightened by MK Vision, never was there a problem. Never go to Franhill optics!!! Supervisor had a really bad attitude as well when I walked in. Horrible service. Horrible experience. How can you say it’s my fault I broke my glasses. She only seen me with it on 2 seconds after she tightened it. Hours later it broke off when I closed my glasses. Such a coincidence… Not sure they even know what they’re doing. Only nice person was the optometrist.

I like this place. The ladies are nice and helpful. They stayed past closing to help my mom select her frames. She ended up getting Fendi’s which looked great.
