African Hair Braiding

Where do I begin… This place was convenient for me when I resided in Queens Village. It’s above a store front and when you go upstairs there’s a vacant room where people come in and out and do drugs it seems. The pros are that they are always willing do make money and do someone’s hair. The other pro is that it’s around a lot of stores and the location is convenient. The cons are that they fabricate prices just to make money. I paid 160 for a regular Senegalese twist. Prices are made up as they go. I was so desperate so I paid but the next time I will listen to advice from others and go to Harlem. The other con is that when they get to the middle of the head, they braid/​twist big so that they can finish. Overall the place is decent but unfortunately I will not return.

Sooooo it took exactly 3 hours for my waist length sengalese twists, that came out perfect. First off I want to say I don’t usually write a review on hair salons but since I got my hair braided over the weekend I felt compelled to. This was the best braiding experience I have ever received. They accept walk ins but appointment is preferred especially if you’re trying to get your hair done on the weekend. My suggestion is to have a picture of the style you want and make sure you show the braider. I always go in knowing exactly what I want and pay attention while getting your hair braided. Remember — they are not hair stylist, they are hair braiders. Fanta was EXCEPTIONAL. .It’s best to get her first thing in the morning.
Note: If you are looking for a spacious lavish salon, this is not the place for you. =)
Overall, the experience was alright.

Where do I start? Customer service here is horrid. The woman braiding my hair told a father waiting for his daughter that he was blocking her from watching her movie. By the way it was done very rude.
I got my hair braided on a Friday, had to get 15 braids re done due to my hair being too short. Here’s where the problem lies I wasn’t told that my hair was too short. So when I came back to get the hair fixed I was treated like it was my fault.
This place is not clean. They have roaches crawling everywhere. It just looks dirty. I watched the woman doing my hair wash her feet in the same sink they used for everything.
I’ll finish this review when I’m less disgusted.

I love it here they braid really nice fast and for a good price! Nadine is really nice!
