Captain Tony’s Pizza & Pasta Emporium

I do not if some the good reviews are from the friends of the employees, but this place goes from bad to worst. The service is a joke. Bad customer service. they have too much attitude. And if you make a claim, they act all smart asses. If they do not like to deal with people, they should look for other job. the new management (if you can call it management because I guess they do not know what the word implies) is run by a bunch of hooligans. I won’t buy from them again.

This is for the East Avenue J Location, but want to post on both pages so it can be seen by all of the AV:
«Normally, I adore Captain Tony’s pizza. They’re pizza is soft, never too hot or cold, so cheesy, and just the perfect amount of sauce. However, I am saddened to say that I may never order from this place again out of sheer annoyance that this place does not deliver to West Lancaster, and decided to tell me that 15 minutes after I placed my order and ran my card– even though I ordered from East J location about 2 weeks ago and they delivered it. Plus, it is not listed on the menu/​ad I was given when my pizza was delivered that they have delivery restrictions. Nor is it listed online. (At least, not that I could find.)
Mind you, the kid who answered the phone was nice, and informed me that I should order from the Quartz Hill shop– however, since the change of management at the Quartz Hill location, I’ve noticed that their pizza was not good and it was burned. And, surprisingly, this location on East Avenue J tastes so much better and is exactly how I’m used to. (I say this because I used to order from QH frequently, and the last 3 times/​orders since the change, the pizza was not good.)
In conclusion, had someone verified that my order could not be delivered before I got off the phone, I would not be as disappointed in the lack of cheesy goodness in my life as I am now.
Heck, if they would have just delivered it like they did with me 2 weeks ago, and kindly informed me that they could no longer deliver in my area, I wouldn’t be mad at all. It’s good customer service to just follow through with an order– especially if it isn’t verified by the manager before finishing the transaction– than to call up a customer 15 minutes later and say „By the way, we have to cancel your order. We don’t deliver there.“ »

This place is literally the best pizza in the av its sooo good and well priced. I can just eat all of it. I love pzza and this to me is pizzas perfection! I will always come to this place. The staff is friendly and fast they are one of the greatest places to ever visit here in the av for pizza!!!

I think this is the best pizza in the AV always been my favorite never lets me down and never disappoints If you looking for some good old fashioned pizza with good ingredients this is your place

This place used to be great!
It is not anymore.
I called and had some food delivered and it was disappointing.
They messed up the pizza.
They put almost no sauce on the «hot» wings.
They didn’t even send my wings with the dipping sauce, that they did ask what kind I wanted when I ordered.
And of course, the pizza delivery guy didn’t have cheese and peppers! (This is the kind of stuff that gets you no tip. And I don’t believe they ever had them in all the times I used to order from these guys.)
When I called the store back, the manager was very stand-​offish and started getting smart with me (Something you shouldn’t do with people over the phone). Claiming that he had made the food and nothing was wrong with it. He said that if I wanted extra sauce on the wings I needed to ask for it. (There was barely even a splash of sauce on them).
I explained that I’ve never had a problem before and loved the food, but this was unacceptable.
They offered to send out new food, but I have children who were hungry. Waiting another hour wasn’t an option as this order took much longer than stated to deliver.
I do not ask for much and I don’t look for handouts.
They offered me a free pizza on my next visit, but I am sure I will never return. Unless they get new management again.
I came here to leave a new review because they blocked me on Facebook when I put up a new review, then they deleted it. Now they won’t even let me remove my previous review or update it, from back when they had different management and way better service and food.
In the end I guess I can clearly see the maturity and inability to take honest criticism from their guests.
It is a sad deal because this place used to be the pinnacle of pizza places here in the AV.

I stopped eating here with the old owner because their pizza kind of sucked and their customer service kind of sucked too. Since the new owner took over, I am just now eating here again for the first time and let me tell you it is 1000 times better. The pizza was actually kind of AMAZING. I ate WAY too much and was compelled to write a review just in case there are others out there like me. If you have not tried the pizza since it has been revamped, I would recommend it. It was YUMMY and hit the spot for sure. Probably my new favorite pizza now.

I love this place’s pizza but for the second time in a row, they forgot the ranch dressing that I ordered. Not a big deal, they brought it to me on their next Delivery but for the second consecutive time, the bag of ranch was just that. A bag full of ranch because they don’t bother putting the lids on properly…
I ordered from this place again tonight and once again they forgot the ranch dressing. They said they’d bring it back to me and then called and said they would have to charge me. I told them no and I wanted to talk to the owner and they told me they’d try to call her but she probably wouldn’t answer and hung up on me… I’m done with this place! Good food, their service is terrible.

This place has pretty standard pizza for the AV. It’s a litte better than most though, and since it’s close to my place I’ll probably start ordering my pizza from here. It’s cheap and it’s fast. My order was ready in 10 – 15 minutes.
I was a bit tricked by their website though. I guess they franchise from NY, so the pictures and menu on their website are their Brooklyn location. The pizza looks just fantastic there, and this location was just pretty good.

The staff is super friendly and their pizza’s and calzone’s are so yummy! This is the best pizza I have had in the antelope valley :)

The folks there tried really hard to please us. We felt special and that is rare in a take out place. However the pizza is mediocre. Crust reminded me of Pizza Hut. Disappointed really wanted to like this place.

Our family loves the buffalo chicken pizza or the bbq chicken! The wings are also most excellent! Highly recommended place to eat. The manager Ken will bend over backwards to make sure the customer is happy! 5stars!

I love this place I get the calzone it’s perfect the pizza and breadsticks are awesome as well it’s great quality food for a decent price my new go to Italian spot great baked calzone not fried it’s just something you have to try!

Ordered an antipasto salad and a cold cut sandwich yesterday, my biggest complaint about the sandwich is TOO much bread for the little meat and cheese on the sandwich, mostly tasted bread with every bite! Was pretty tasty when I found the meat/​cheese! The salad was good and fresh as we saved it for today to eat, didn’t care for the Italian dressing, too much of a bite to it and I thought the salad was missing something being an antipasto, needed more meat/​cheese, missing pepperoni etc! The service was good and friendly! We’ve ordered the spaghetti before and it was excellent! Want to try a pizza next time, but reading the comments I’m a little skeptical! The prices seem good!

Pizza is perhaps one of the most inexpensive (ingredient wise) of food products to produce. So when I go for pizza I like finding a place that doesn’t cheap down on an already inexpensive product. Captain Tony’s has had great quality pizza for the years I and my family have been ordering from there. A little more pricey compared to the big franchise places like Dominos and Pizza Hut but worth it.
Some months back I noticed that quality had slipped, which as patron I definitely noticed. I ordered again and again and still noticed that the pizza had a different quality to it that did not live up to my normal expectations of this place. After writing my review I was contacted by the New Owner who was greatly concerned and had asked about my more recent experiences.
I was happy to see an owner take a genuine interest in the experiences of the customer. I had given my input and a few weeks later decided to give it another try. I was impressed at how the quality had returned to that which I was accustomed to. I ordered a few more times in the coming weeks as I wanted to be sure it was back for good.
I am happy to say that this place has once again returned to my favorite pizza joint in the AV. I am glad to see the owner so involved and concerned. I will continue my patronage of this place as long as it has that great taste that made me love it in the first place.

I have eaten here several times since the new owners took over and I have never been disappointed. My daughter and I love their pizza and their antipasto salad. Got a calzone today! So amazing. $ 6.49 for a 2 item calzone is a great deal and so delicious! Will keep coming back for awesome food.

Food was petty good. Came here for a 2^nd try and it was better than before. Service was friendly and the place was kept up and clean.

I really really like supporting local businesses when I can however this place missed the mark by a long shot and over priced. Now this is my 3^rd time here and all with the same result. The pizza tastes blend and cheese burnt. Not much sauce on the wings. I prefer Riga Tony’s or Vince’s Pasta & Pizza over this by a long shot.

At first we ordered food and it was not prepared right, I complained and the Manager was so apologetic. He corrected the order and the new order was perfect. Great wings and pizza and we love the anti pasta salad. Great job.

Gross, almost as bad as Little Caesars but way over priced. Slow delivery time too. Service is meh, sometimes they’re rude sometimes they’re ok, never great (even on pickup). Not sure how they’re still in business. On a positive note, the pizza was always cooked all the way.
