Been coming here for years now. To me this place never changes. New prizes and new workers, but the environment and the way things are ran doesn’t change a bit. The food is still how I remember it, sometimes they give it to you how you want it and it is just way over priced. All and all I pretty much do this for my children because I want them to have those fun memories that I had when I was a kid.

Had awesome time at the fair this weekend with crazy rides, games and my favorite, the derby demolishing car races! Must visit!

Seemed very under staffed this year. Long lines everywhere. The coupon of 6 rides or gamed for $ 17 was not much of a savings when you where using them on kiddy rides. Never seen long lines for games before. A couple of the games where broken. At one game saw a little girl get a large, but the worker said they changed the rules to where the girl got a small!!! We also went for the smash up and where told it was sold out. You could see the seats and it was maybe 2⁄3 full! Try telling a 4 year old it’s sold out. Not impressed.

The Spring Fair is really only good for taking your little ones or to just roam around eating unhealthy(but so so delicious) food. The expo center is full of different vendors as usual. Not as crazy or busy as the normal puyallup fair, I love going every year just to take my little one with a little less chaos going on around you. It’s a nice little outing in the Spring for your family — tickets are cheaper than the normal fair season, so I feel like it’s definitely worth doing if you’re going for a family day. If you’re going for a «date night» don’t expect to find much to do unless you’re going to ride a couple rides & do some people watching.

The psychology is amazing when you think about it. The new way to handle tickets for rides and combining them with games let you spend faster and larger because of the perception of money is skewed. Since you pay onto a card and 1 ticket is 50 cents, the mind easily forgets how much you are paying for games and rides much easier now. The people just scan and remove value and you then pay $ 4 for one dart! I found that a bit pricey and at the end of an hour, I had paid $ 150. fascinating! Loved the elephant ear and double ID carding to get into the beer garden and then getting carded by the vendor in the beer area was a bit redundant since the area is about a total of 800 Sq/ft(inside) and 5 feet from the entry where I just got carded. The good note is that the stuffed prizes are no longer Styrofoam like and actually back to plush objects! yay! The food is very fair like and nothing close to the«bite of» any location. I kind of wish they could have a hybrid fair and food event with entertainment all in one, one day. Like a StateBumperBiteOfFair. Seems more expensive this year than last year(more than inflationary). Luckily sunny, lots of lines because of the amount of people, and averagely entertaining.

The Spring Fair is basically a condensed version of the Puyallup Fair that happens in the fall. It only goes on for one weekend vs the usually month or couple weeks that the Puyallup goes on. The area that you have access to is also smaller. That being said, its still a nice little day trip to have. Parking was free(so don’t pay to park in someones lawn), and the admission was 10 dollars for adults. There is fair food everywhere and plenty of little fair trinkets to buy. I didn’t feel like any of the fair food was really unique like you occasionally find places. Not a bad thing but just noteworthy. Same thing goes with the rides. I can’t remember if there was a ferris wheel but there wass a roller coaster, a zipper, and plenty of spinny rides for both adults and kids. They discontinued the option to buy an unlimited pass for rides, so we just went on one. Its 50 cents per ticket, and the zipper was 9 tickets. Lots of animals to look at, and some baby animals too. Not as many as I was expecting but it was still neat. There is a very small petting area in one of the barns where you can pet some goats. If you’re unsure if you would like to go to the Puyallup fair, the Spring Fair is a good option to try it out. Its a scaled down version both size and pricewise, so its worth checking out for a day — especially since not a whole lot else is going on this time of the year.

This was one of the first events my family and I went to after moving to Washington. I have been to bigger, and I have been to smaller fairs, and overall this fair was pretty good for what I would call a smedium-sized fair. As is the norm, the concessions are fairly high priced, but hey Fair food! Funnel Cakes! The fairground layout was mostly well organized, and I also was pretty impressed with the people in attendance. I have been to some fairs where I was holding on to my wallet expecting to get mugged. lol but everyone here seemed to be here for a good time, and not looking for problems. I look forward to next years fair, we will definitely be there.

The people watching is always epic. Lots of rides for the kids, and lots of food options. Smaller scale than the full fledged fair, also a smaller dent on your wallet thanks to free parking and discounted ticket prices… but the food prices remain the same.

Really good for families and ones with small children. It’s a condensed version of the fall fair but we prefer it. At least for now since our son is only two but there was much more for him to do. They seem to gear activities and events around the younger ages. And of course the scones! My favorite part of the fair hands down!

I went to the Spring Fair with a couple of friends last weekend. It is a smaller version of the normal Puyallup Fair in the summer. We got our tickets from BECU for $ 5.50 a piece — with a service charge they were under $ 7.00 a person. I think the regular price was $ 9.00, so this was a good deal. Parking was free, which surprised me but was awesome. While there are plenty of activities at the Spring Fair, there is a lot less to do overall. There are less animals and less shows — I don’t believe there were any grandstand shows at all. We spent a lot of time in the expo because we didn’t find much else we had interest in. Rides and games are WAY too expensive — if you wanted to simply ride the ferris wheel, it was like $ 5 bucks! We skipped that entire area completely because the prices were ridiculous. The plus side is that there were less people than at the normal fair — although it was a beautiful, sunny day so it got a lot busier as the day went on. There were also still plenty of food vendors. I was able to get my typical elephant ear and had plenty to choose from for lunch(I went with a gyro). Probably the best thing we experienced was the Dock Dogs competition. It was pretty neat to watch dogs jumping for distance into a pool. We spent quite a long time there! Anyway, I might consider going back to the Spring Fair — I had fun — but I’d probably opt to stick to the normal Puyallup Fair in the future.

i have a question… i just bought 100 game and ride tickets online. when i get to the ticket booth will it be raffle like tickets, bracelt, or a card. because i bought these tickets for my kids and on the barcode of the purchased online ticket stub that i bring to the fair to recieve them it states that its good for one person only. it would really suck if thats the case because there no cancellation or changes allowed. Please some one help me. Thank you very much

The Spring Fair is a downsized version of the fall fair, perhaps better for families, with the cooler weather, less walking, and theoretically at least, fewer people. It’s also cheaper, for rides and admission, and unlike the fall fair, parking is even free. However, there are fewer animals, fewer rides, fewer food vendors, and fewer things to see & do. The rides especially seem to have longer lines, which could be a function of fewer of them to choose from. There were also none of the grandstand shows which can be great or awful, depending on your perspective. The kiddie rides take up the stage area. Buy your tickets from Safeway or Fred Meyer before you go. This gets you a good discount on the tickets themselves, and also the ability to buy much-discounted ride tickets. Rides are still $ 2 each with the discount… they are more like $ 3 – 5 each if you buy regular tickets. OUCH! Overall, I still prefer the fair up in Monroe for better size, more reasonable crowds, and better rides. And I loved the King County Fair in Enumclaw a few years ago; it was way more about the kids and their animals, with classic rides but not too many of them. It was of a wonderful old-fashioned scale and I loved it.
